  1. "One Who Talks With the Fog" - Drudkh
  2. "Eastern Frontier in Flames" - Drudkh
  3. That's too bad. Perhaps this narrowing of focus will inspire someone to break away and create something new.
  4. I just preordered the new Drudkh album and a shirt.
  5. I guess I found my word of the day.
  6. Isn't dragons and fantasy the core theme of power metal though? Power metal seems to be much more focused thematically than other subgenres. If you want to hear reflections of different cultures in metal music, you might have better luck with black metal.
  7. There will be a new Drudkh album in March.
  8. I actually recorded some music today. It ended up not being metal, but it is progress nonetheless.
  9. Interesting. I have not heard any power metal that is "exotic." My recommendation would be to go to Encyclopedia Metallum and start playing around with the advanced search feature.
  10. "Fimbulvintr" - Donarhall Interesting instrumental bm band, I will need to listen to more. "Litourgiya" - Batushka
  11. "The Great Cold Steppe" - Windswept "Terra Damnata" - Nightbringer
  12. I know. I just wanted to share my thoughts on it. Part of me wanted to summon him back to argue, though. However, that would probably be a poor decision. Potentially funny, but nevertheless stupid and pointless.
  13. I had to listen to it a few times, but I completely agree.
  14. What? There is plenty of black metal that is not Satanic at all. Some isn't even dark...
  15. Honestly, I really like the post-Euronymous Mayhem. I was introduced to the band with "Chimera," and it is still one of my favorite albums. I think that "Grand Declaration of War" was also really good because it was something completely different from anything else they (or any other bm band, really) had done before.
  16. "Wolf's Lair Abyss" - Mayhem (Misanthropy Records 1997)
  17. Welcome! Black Metal is my favorite subgenre. What bands do you like the best?
  18. I recently came across a Chinese band called Zuriaake, and it made me realize that I know very little about non-Western black metal. Can anyone recommend any bands from Africa or Asia that they found particularly interesting?
  19. I will have to look it up.
  20. "The blood of your headsSpread in our facesViolence and deathAre with we desire"
