Hey folks! I'm Nular, one of the very few musicians worldwide that use finger drumming to play metal. I took it one step further and developed a custom tool that allows me to play all virtual instruments (drums, bass and guitars) at the same time without a pre-recorded backing track or loops. This, along with my finger drumming technique I've been working on for over five years, enabled me to perform and improvise complex arrangements completely live as a single musician. I play multiple genres, but metal (djent, specifically) is featured heavily on my YouTube channel. Hello! I'm currently looking for a talented singer (male or female) that wishes to join my band: "Volixe". I'm near the release of the demo/EP. I just need a cool person that has nice vocals to finish it. I'm from Chile so this would most likely be an online collaboration. Every song for the demo/EP is already composed by me and a couple of lyrics are already done too. The band has thrash, death, black, progressive metal and even classical music influences. It's somewhat experimental. Igorrr is a band that hails from France, and although they really can’t be associated with any singular genre, broadly speaking they are considered an experimental metal. “Spirituality and Distortion” is Igorrr’s 4th full length studio album to date, their last being 2017’s “Savage Sinusoid”. - Its hard to describe, to pin-point this album. Raw and bursting with emotion, “Spirituality and Distortion” is 14 tracks of absolutely no compromises. In the space of a little under an hour, Igorrr has successfully crossed the expansive seas of genres, and crafted a perfectly blended sampler of seemingly every genre to have ever existed. Truly its all in this one package; from European classical arrangements, to electronic breakdowns, to more Middle Eastern inspired themes, to polka, to a cappella interludes, and then of course back to extreme metal. In a time where music is so heavily categorized (looking at you death metal, with your technical, progressive, slam, melodic, brutal and other such sub genres), its great to have an experience that truly throws that notion of categorization to the wind and takes so many risks. There are very few “safe” moments to be found here. Metal bands commonly work non-metal elements into their albums, typically seen as distinct intros or interludes, but almost always return to a focus of metal at their core. Igorrr have instead decided to treat each element with equal weight, an approach not often heard. What is perhaps most impressive, is how easy of an album this could have been to mess up. Without careful songwriting and structuring each piece could have fallen victim to over-saturation, and have confused and frustrated the listener. Especially since the songs follow a more linear approach, each one sharing a separate glimpse into this distorted universe Igorrr paints, not relying on the verse/chorus formula as often. However, Igorrr pulls it off seamlessly, writing simple yet effective melodies that weave all of the vastly diverse instruments together; melodies that often culminate in a plethora of impactful pays offs and engaging moments. All of this is tied thematically back to the song titles, album artwork, and album title, providing a subtle commentary on the religions and beliefs found throughout the world. Referenced by the inclusion of so many distinct genres, each one a twisted or distorted version of what it would be on its own, there is an underlying stance of things not always being what they appear to be, or rather, that things are not always black and white. Some highlights of the album would include the gorgeous vocal harmonies in “Polyphonic Rust”, the groove-laden “Camel Dancefloor, which continues to layer upon a simple yet catchy foundation, and the build up in “Himalaya Massive Ritual” featuring acoustic instrumentation, bells, and intense vocal harmonies, all which descend into powerful guitar riffs. This final touch that seals the deal is the fantastic production. Intense and with crystal clarity, the precision of the production amplifies the very tight performances of all the musicians involved. The guitar tones are crushing without being over-gained, the bass is punchy and audible, the drums sound like cannons, and the vocals are robust and soaring. Really, there are no criticisms here. This album is a breathe of fresh air, and a testament to any who claim “there isn’t any good new music”, or that metal died in the 80s. Give this album a listen. Or a few. 10/10

I'm looking for people for an online experimental grindcore band. Mainly guitar, and bass players. I've been mashing up different genres of music for awhile. I have a home music studio and I'm looking to provide drum tracks and vocals. I'm a lyricist, more so on the conscious side of things than gore, and have tons of material. I actually like having a message in the music other than decapitating puppies. Some bands I dig that I'd say I'm heavily influenced by are old Agoraphobic Nosebleed, No One Gets Out Alive, Converge, Genghis Tron, Shredded Corpse, Napalm Christ, All Out War, CombatWoundedVeteran, Acrid, Pig Destroyer, Benumb, Assūck, Extreme Noise Terror, Disrupt, Dropdead, Brutal Truth and Enemy Soil just to name a few. I've been a lifelong metalhead, and I'm hoping to find the right people for this project. Please hit me up if you are interested. -

Hi, guys. I'm new around here, so I'll share some words about what I care about. My name is Andrei and I'm a vocalist and woodwinds player (recorders, whistles, bagpipes but also accordion). I live in Romania and have a band called E-an-na. We play mainly folk metal, but if you listen to our music you'll notice a lot of different influences. I'm always trying to break the musical stereotypes of folk metal, or of the music I play in general (I work with other bands from different genres as well, but that is another topic), and that will become more and more obvious as we'll keep releasing new stuff. We're currently working on a full LP which I hope we'll release around may 2019. It's really complex and only time will tell how we manage to fulfill this massive project. We've toured quite a bit since 2016, when we started our live activity, and even got to play Wacken Open Air in 2017, where we won the 2nd place at Wacken Metal Battle. A really unique experience. We always get a fantastic vibe from the audience, even if our lyrics are in romanian, and often the audience doesn't understand a word. Yet another proof that music can connect people on so many levels- The concept around which our band revolves is that of escaping: "E-an-na" means "the home of the skies" in ancient sumerian, and for us it is an otherworld that we created so that we can escape all the mundane negativity that is drowning our current world. Hello all. Metal is pretty great, but recently I've been trying to get into some more experimental pop style music. However, since I am pretty much completely new to the genre, Its been somewhat hard trying to find quality music. If anyone has any suggestions of alternative pop that might suit the metal palette, please post below. Some of my all time favorite bands include Devin Townsends various projects, tool, abbath, rotting christ, machine head, death, karnivool, katatonia, rise against, extreme noise terror, vektor, fleshgod apocalypse, killswitch, Novembers doom, red fang, and various underground black metal efforts, so my taste are all over the place. Hello! I have a project that I have been working on for the last decade or so. It's a Grindcore/Experimental project. The band is called The Patient Died Suddenly (xTPDSx). It's a 1-man-band. I have a Bandcamp account setup, just wanted to get some feedback. This project started off grindcore with a humorous lyrical side, but has now ended up as a "whatever I want" type thing.
