  1. Hello everybody, I hope you guys are doing well. This is Bugra Fatih Demiryurek(BFD as musician name). I wanted to share you my brand new single "Prødigy" produced by MO Metal Productions featuring James Phillips, Brian Gosling(Grimzee) from As The Structure Fails, Thomas Rech from Matahari. We conducted a big international project having 5 talented and well-known people on social media all around the world and I truly believe that this project has a huge potential to be loved by the heavy music fans. All the instruments and the parts in the song were written by me except the lyrics and last 2 guest guitar solos. I was lucky enough to get this song heard by my idols and the feedback from them, musicians, instrument players got me more hyped to believe that this song really has a good potential. I would appreciate if you guys also share it or put it in your playlists so that we can have the stream that this song deserves! 4. Hi! I am an aspiring singer based in South East UK, who is very passionate about joining a metal band and creating music akin to that of Spiritbox, Lamb of God, Bring Me the Horizon, Jinjer, Architects, Bad Omens, Any Given Day, Infected Rain and the likes (Courtney LePlante and Randy Blythe are my vocal heros). I grew up on all sorts of genres, namely Nu Metal, loving bands like Slipknot, Korn, Static-x, Soil, Mushroomhead and Disturbed. Evanescence, Linken Park and some pop punk bands like Paramore were also a big influence. Hoping to find someone/some people to collab with in person or remotely, to either have fun making music, make a band with or to join a band to work on music seriously. HMU if you like!
  5. Hey folks! I'm Nular, one of the very few musicians worldwide that use finger drumming to play metal. I took it one step further and developed a custom tool that allows me to play all virtual instruments (drums, bass and guitars) at the same time without a pre-recorded backing track or loops. This, along with my finger drumming technique I've been working on for over five years, enabled me to perform and improvise complex arrangements completely live as a single musician. I play multiple genres, but metal (djent, specifically) is featured heavily on my YouTube channel. Here's my latest one man band performance with some live visuals: If you have any questions or comments, please ask, I'd be more than happy to discuss anything related to this! Best, Nular
  6. Many people think that Djent is not a genre as such, but just a way a song can sound like, so a song can only sound "djenty", not be Djent. Do you agree? Why? If you do, what do you think bands like Meshuggah or Wide Eyes are?
  7. Hey everyone I've written an album's worth of instrumental material (think Periphery, Architects, Northlane, that kind of stuff) and I'm looking for vocalists to do some guest spots on the songs to finish them off. If anyone's interested, drop me a message.I like to think the music is pretty good!I'm not ever intending to make a career out of it, this is purely a passion project, but if you're looking for exposure this is a good way of getting your vocals on an original track to showcase your talents for auditions etc! Here's a few songs from the project, there are another 7 on top of this though:https://soundcloud.com/user-925000578/modern-guilt-2020-30https://soundcloud.com/user-925000578/never-enough-1https://soundcloud.com/user-925000578/abyss-2020/s-7nqufAj0dPJ
  8. Adversus from London, Ontario. FUCKING AMAZING live band saw them with Born of Osiris and Oceano not too long ago. https://open.spotify.com/album/4u63iSOzrwNFCljbMpIRYF
  9. Despite not exploring Djent or Progressive/Post-metal before listening to this album, it is one of the bands that piqued my interest in this type of music. I'm very aware that Djent is, by some, considered a saturated and simple, almost laughable category of the metal scene, simply defined by low tunings and very mechanical start/stop instrumental patterns. This collides with my view on the genre since I consider that all genres have a more "mainstream" shell that helps the listener get an idea of what type of music they are listening to, Februus is so much more than what this shell could ever be described as and it is where Uneven Structure brought something new to the genre with their first full album release back in 2011. By trying to summarize the album very shortly, words such as Melancholy, Emptiness but also Fulfillment comes to mind. Almost all tracks of the album are presented with some beautiful ambiance, while still keeping grit of the 7 stringed guitars and heavily written instruments apparent and in focus. So what is this album, then? It may at first glance seem rather mundane and generic to the genre, but I would consider Februus a concept album that appeals to many different tastes. The vocals are a combination of low aggressive growls and beautiful, powerful cleans. The drums are complex but never fail to induce headbanging. The guitars are low tuned, playing chugging polyrhythmic Meshuggah-like parts together with complementing chords and ambiance to keep the riffs interesting. And lastly, the recorded bass does exactly what it is supposed to do, it fills out the musical space tying it all together. Each track of the album tells a different story, has a unique feeling to it and showers the listener in emotions. The album is built up in a way that encourages the listener to turn shuffle off, and just flow with the album from start to finish. More quiet and calm instrumental sections give the listener some breathing room between the heavier parts, and an instrumental "repetitive" track (done right) finishes the album off, leaving you with that sense of fulfillment after a rollercoaster of emotions. Uneven Structure do not write polyrhythmic music for the sake of it, it becomes apparent by listening to this album. The unnatural feeling of the "not 4/4" riffs contributes to the mood of the tracks, and never feels out of place. Although not all tracks are truly polyrhythmic, most of them have a different feeling than what "normal" 4/4 gives which keeps the entire album fresh and promotes itself to be listened to many times over. Small details in the instrumental parts make each listen unique, as you discover an additional guitar track that you didn't register on the first run-through of the album. To this day it is still one of my favorite albums of all time. Whenever I listen to this album, I can close my eyes on my bed and just disappear into the world of Februus, completely shutting out reality. The immersion of this album never ceases to pull me away to a different place and it becomes very apparent that Uneven Structure knows how to write appealing music that stands on its own. Februus will always be considered a masterpiece by me, because it is that good. FIMPEN This has been my first attempt at a review ever, and my goal is simply to share my music library with people and hopefully lead someone towards finding great music. Constructive criticism is encouraged. Thank you for reading.

  11. I need some serious help, I’ve been trying to find the green Ibanez rg 8 string guitar that Justin Lowe used. I understand he had some custom work done like the neck, color, and tone killswitch, but I really just want to find the exact model he built on. I can’t seem to find any specific article on it, and all Ibanez’s website says is he used rg model. Thank you in advance!

  14. Hey guys! Ive just released my debut album. 14 twisted tracks for your ears. Really appreciate any feedback. http://fromthethicket.bandcamp.com/album/from-the-thicket
  15. Hey good people, I've been working on an album for my project From The Thicket. I know genre labels are always a point of contention but I'd say my work draws a lot from groove oriented bands (e.g. meshuggah, vildhjarta) and dissonant/strange death metal bands like Gorguts. The Album has 13 tracks completed, and I'm currently working on improving the production. I play guitar and bass, and use Ezdrummer for the drums. Its all mixed and mastered by me. I haven't got vocals on this one but I have used scream samples in parts and other voice samples, to fill that void. In the future I'd love to have a full band with a vocalist, however, right now its all about crafting a sound and seeing if I can generate interest. I've also made my own videos. I love making this stuff so I hope some of you guys enjoy it! For anyone wondering, the name is actually the meaning behind the name "Bruce". That was my father's name and he sadly passed away In March this year after a battle with cancer. This project is dedicated to him and I've included a few references to him/his illness in the song titles.
