Hails! Aasfresser is searching for session members supporting the newest recordings of unique and anachronist black metal. There is enough material recorded for 2 full-length albums and some EPs, from harsh raw black metal to more epic and even psychedelic metal. Recording examples are shown below. -Vocals Distorted and raspy vocals like those of early Darkthrone, Emperor or Enslaved; Clean vocals as well. -Bass There should be any kind of bass here and it will be audible in the mix. If the bass tracks do more than just following the guitar lines, I will be happy. -Drums Aasfresser drums are quite complex for this kind of music and probably difficult to play. Generally I prefer a rough sound. The programmed drums alreadys come close to what I imagine, though real ones will be better. -Solo Guitars There could be some semi-dissonant old-school solos like that one on Slayers Raining Blood or those of Bathory -Acoustics Additionally, there might be an acoustic intro or something like this. Vocals, bass and drums are the most important thing. If you are interested, send a personal message with own recording examples or post it just here! Recording equipment and knowledge (home studio, garage, bedroom etc) should be available. A professional studio is not required, but sound quality should be adequate for that style of music. There are no intentions for live events etc. https://soundcloud.com/user-595238393

A young death metal band (Immortal Obscurity) looking for a rhythm guitarist, bass player and drummer. Need members that can play anything from slow to fast tempo death metal. The band is mainly reminiscent of old school death metal influences with some slam, melodic and occasional tech part making its way in. Located in Johnstown, New York. Preferably looking for members in the Tri-city areas (mainly Troy and Albany) from 16-19 if possible. Demos for a 6 song ep have already been written, but are up for any changes depending on your style. Thank you for reading, contact me if you're interested, I'll send you the demos and I'll make sure to stay contacted to make it work as best as possible. Hoping to meet up together whenever possible. Thank you for checking it out, have a good day.

Hello there! Sorry for my English: it's not my first language, so I can make horrible for you, native speakers, mistakes. You've been warned! ? So, here's the deal: I'm a self-taught guitarist. I've been playing for something like 7 years by now, but... It was hit or miss to be fair... I'm good enough to play different songs by tabs, have a passable skill of understanding some songs by ear (but I wouldn't count on that if we are sincere), can follow the metronome, fell the beat, but my knowledge of music theory sucks. I can write in Guitar Pro, for example, making right timings between notes, but I still struggle to come up with proper lead lines for my demos because of the lack of education. But enough with the sad part, okay? ? Now I believe I'm ready to give everything a fresh start and that's why I'm willing to try to form a band with musicians who share my interests in genres. Since my childhood I wanted to become a musician, a singer to be specific. So... Since I'm a guitarist with some sort of experience, you can say that's a dumb way to relearn into a singer but I see the point of this whole thing in a different way: I have a passion to music, I've always wanted to be a musician, so with right people on my side, also interested in making their own music, I hope I'll accomplish this task. I want to write true to heart and true to life lyrics and reinforce them with simple but no less worthy of it melodies. By the way, if you're a singer yourself and wish to participate in my searching for becoming a metalcore singer - fell free to contact me - I'll be glad to hear some instructions from you! Let's speak concretely about music that I want to write with you, friends, if you're interested. Mostly it's metalcore/post-hardcore. I found them touching with all their inherent lyric-based foundation, moving riffs and face-cracking breakdowns. Speaking about bands, as an example I can highlight such bands as: Asking Alexandria, Capture (ex Capture The Crown), Crown The Empire, Motionless in White, Beartooth, Down&Dirty, I See Stars, Annisokay, Adept, Bad Omens, Of Mice & Men, A Skylit Drive, Bring Me The Horizon, Memphis May Fire, Blessthefal, Architects, Forever In Combat and some others... Jeez, that's hard to recall all of them, but I hope you got the point. Now I'm looking for a fellow musicians who can participate and contribute their vision. I wish to find a music soulmates who's passionate enough to try to produce something new of their own. I understand that I'm not the best in guitar field, so that's why I'm all ready to give up this place in favor of any of you willing and ready to deliver, and try all my best to advance in singing. Let's create something with which we won't be ashamed to go out in people and try to break into the music scene (yeah, that sounds arrogantly, but I believe that you must dream big). Let's learn everything step-by-step together and help everyone out. Feel free to comment on this topic if you're at least somehow interested. Since I'm from a third-world-piece-of-crap-country (yeah, Russia, sorry ?), we won't be able to jam together IRL, but i'm friendly with anything computer-related, at least we'll be sharing demos and tabs... I have an old Avid FastTrack Solo, so I can record something at home ?. Have a great time!

Hello. I'm new here. To make a long story short, I'm a drummer turned programmer turned studio engineer turned multi-instrumentalist turned aspiring middle-aged YouTuber. I ain't gonna lie. I enjoy quite a few types of music, metal included. I like Leo Moracchioli and he inspired me to start a YouTube channel where I do weekly rock / metal covers of pop songs from pretty much any era. (If you've never heard of Leo, just google "Adele Metal" and he's the first result, guaranteed. You won't regret it) Not to sound like I'm in an interview, but I think the thing that sets me apart is - instead of doing weekly guitar or drum or vocal or accordion covers, I do weekly metal everything covers, produced up to radio quality, and I make a dumb video of the whole thing. Every week. I like suggestions, too. That's about it. My video series is in my signature, but if you need a more direct route, I'll see if I can figure out how to embed YT videos here of my latest creation. I'm interested in seeing what this forum is all about. Thanks for your time.

The Role of The Bass By: Branden Johns, Bassist of Killing Rapunzel It all starts with the music. The Merriam-Webster dictionary states that a musician is “a person who writes, sings, or plays music”. This is the accepted definition by most of the english-speaking world of what a musician is, and becoming a musician is just as simple as the definition states it to be. Because music is an art, one of the first steps is to find a medium in which you feel the most comfortable expressing yourself with. For some this is an instrument. An instrument is a tool that can be used to complete a task, and in this case, that is to play musical tones or notes. When selecting an instrument, you should think of yourself. What kind of person are you? Are you a leader? Are you a follower? What do you want your art to express? All these are things that people will be able to see about you as a result of your music. I am an electric bass guitar player in a three-piece hard-rock band. My instrument is an electric bass guitar. I play the bass because I personally relate to what, traditionally, is the role of the bass guitar. The bass guitar is a rhythm instrument, which provides the strong backbone of a song. Without the bass guitar, in my music, the music would feel empty and have a lack of strength. I feel that this best represents my personality because I have always strived to be ready to help my friends and family so I could be there with them when they needed me. I have always seen and felt that the bass guitar belongs in the background, in the dark spots of music where no one “looks”. The bass isn’t supposed to be heard, it’s supposed to be felt. One of the bass’ primary jobs is to cover the flow of the song for the lead instruments so they have support when they break from the melody of a song. Because of that, bass tends to be one of the parts of music that no one will notice until it’s gone. And this is where I think that the bass gets its personality. The bass controls one half of the rhythm section of my band, so if I were to, stop playing during any point of a performance, the show would be drastically changed. The bass is one of the most powerful and central elements of most modern music. It is not “stupid”, “lame”, “boring”, or “easy”. Without bass, music would not be the same. The bass has just as much power to change music as any other musical instrument. It is just as difficult to play and learn as any other musical instrument. It has its own skill set that puts it in a category all to itself. To be a bass player, you need to understand what exactly your role is. You are the drive of the song. You are the one with the ability to emphasize the power of music. You are the rhythm. Without rhythm the song lack the ability to carry its message, whatever it may be. The purpose of this article is to share what I have learned about my instrument and position in music thus far in my career. These are my opinions, and they are to be regarded as such. If you can relate and use my word to your advantage, please do so. Share this knowledge with your friends, family, and other musicians. The second we stop ourselves from learning is the true end of growth, and to be successful we must never stop. Written and edited by: Branden Johns © Killing Rapunzel 2016
