5/10 I do not care for the guitar tone too much, as it is seems to moderated. To me, it sounds as if it lacks the heavy, deep bass, while also leaving out too much treble. In regards to the riffs, I find them somewhat boring. They have too many dynamics to lend their repetition much ambiance, but simultaneously do not have enough excitement to make the guitar work particularly exciting. The drum tone is very nice, though. I also like the singer's voice, as it is very dark.

"Requiem" - Merzbow This is really interesting as it samples Burzum's "Jesu Dod" throughout. It is really worth a listen.

I just started reading "Art as Experience" by John Dewey. It is very interesting so far. It's not too difficult to read either, which is nice for a philosophy book.

You didn't care for it when it came out? It has always been one of my favorites of theirs. I have been listening to some random Absurd and Apraxia songs. I am not sure how much I care for the latter, as their cheap keyboards and not-quite-right vocals sort of bother me.

Do you have a clear recollection of everything that occurred directly before and after the event you described? What happened in between your vision and supposedly hearing your cat's meow?

Metal in many ways rejects the norms of society (though it is worth noting that it has many norms of its own). Breaking away from the herd provides one with an interesting level of objectivity about society that could not otherwise be achieved from within. Just because something is normal, popular, or "light" does not entail that it has any quality or insights to offer. In many ways, the people who deliberately do something unusual or different often have the most to offer and learn from.

It's weird to me that electronics often do not detect things like that on their own before the problem becomes too bad.

From what I have heard, I think that they are able to replicate the attitude of KPN pretty well (which is significant, in my opinion). However, I would agree that they are unable to surpass the mighty KPN in compositional ability.
