  1. Some Chinese guqin music. Very interesting!
  2. What brand of strings? I need to get some soon, and would be interested in any recommendations.
  3. 8/10 I liked the guitar tone and riffs. I also liked the singer's voice.
  4. That makes sense. It shows just how little I know about computers...
  5. computer How did we get from paint to computer?
  6. I really liked reading 1984 - it was the book that really got me into politics. I will have to look into Zola, he sounds interesting. Any suggestions on what to read first? I didn't know Deathspell Omega incorporated existentialist ideas into their music.
  7. "Welt aus Eis" - Paysage d'Hiver
  8. Does anyone here listen to/have thoughts on Noise Music? I find it conceptually interesting and am trying to explore its various styles. I recently discovered Steve Roden's "Forms of Paper" (which is very interesting and worth listening to). Sunn O))) also incorporates aspects of noise.
  9. Actually, my experience with philosophy is ongoing. I am going to finish up my AA in about two months, and am then planning on transferring to a university to study it more. I enjoy it a lot, and am still a bit overwhelmed about choosing what particular branch I should focus my study on. I hope to become a professor (of philosophy), and have no interest in going into law or business either. What authors/movements do you find most interesting? I particularly enjoy reading Dostoevsky, Kafka, and Laozi. I am also interesting in Existentialism and deontological ethics.
  10. "Forms of Paper" - Steve Roden
  11. This is an old thread, but what the heck. It was mentioned above, but I would also add Mayhem's "Grand Declaration of War."
  12. If it helps, I was in a similar scenario in picking a major to pursue in college. I ended up choosing philosophy because it combined and can encompass the humanities, history, literature, and the like. It seemed to me like it took the best parts of each discipline. Also, a degree in philosophy can be very versatile (many people who go into business and law have philosophy degrees). As a side note, what specific areas of literature, philosophy, humanities, etc. interest you?
  13. Really? To me, the feeling of owning a file is not the same as a physical thing.
  14. "Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten" - Arvo Pärt
  15. "J'avais rêvé du nord" - Peste Noire
