  1. Gus G. The first 5 Firewind albums are fantastic, and his solos are really creative. I also like Per Nilsson, Dino Cazares and Thomas Youngblood.
  2. Yeah, I think Thrash is really boring. Skeletonwitch is one of the few bands I think that's doing anything interesting with the genre.
  3. I used to like them a lot. Saw them live twice. The second time I saw them the singer wasn't even trying to hit the notes or anything. I know Alestorm isn't known for their amazing vocals, but the singer was just being lazy and ever since then i've kind of lost interest. Probably won't get any of their future releases.
  4. Not even remotely interested in either band.
  5. Yeah I definitely don't classify that as a genre. I've never even heard of it before now.
  6. I use a Roland Juno GI, which is a fantastic synth. I'm able to record all my music with ORCumentary on it (including vocals), without even using a computer or other external program.
  7. Aside from merch booths and official sites i'd recommend checking out grooves-inc rockabilia amazon ebay backstreet-merch
  8. I wouldn't consider any of them metal.
  9. Offhand I can only think of these two Elvenking - Not My Final Song Woods of Ypres - Adoras Vivos
  10. Maybe he's realized how shitty his band's music is. Hey, if it could happen to the singer of 3 Days Grace...
  11. The energy in metal can't be matched by any other genre. After getting introduced to metal, listening to rock or pretty much any other genre got boring really fast. Metal also has no boundaries. There's a reason why there are so many subgenres. Generally playing metal takes a considerable amount of talent. I KNOW THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS TO THIS! The metal community is also generally pretty awesome. People (like myself) are generally very passionate about metal and are eager to discuss favorite bands and whatnot with fellow metalheads.
  12. Scar Symmetry - The Unseen Empire
  13. I've very recently discovered about myself that I don't think I believe in a god or an afterlife. Although my beliefs aren't fully formed yet, it just seems to me that humans want explanations for the unexplainable and a way to conquer their fear of death, and so they created gods with afterlives. I do find religion very interesting but I think religion is something you have to believe with your heart and soul and not something you believe in because your parents told you. I'm more of a 'seeing is believing' kind of person and i've never had an experience that's made me believe in a god. It's kind of a sad way to look at life I guess, like you'll never see your loved ones again once they die and the finality of death. Again this is all easy for me to say when i'm young, but who knows? I am very open to the possibility of a god, but again it's not something I can just believe in because someone tells me or something I try to force myself to believe.
  14. Way overhyped, annoying, talented tho
  15. Washed up shock jock *not even going to waste a 5th word on this ass-clown
  16. Solo Comedy Metal Artist Wants to Make a Cool Music Video! | Indiegogo Hey guys, my band ORCumentary (which is just me) is trying to make a really awesome music video which features some live performance and an awesome animated story where an orc kills a shitload of goblins. Unfortunately, animation is expensive, but I think it is a necessity for a truly unique and memorable ORCumentary music video. If you want to help me out check out my indiegogo campaign in the link above! Thanks!
  17. I'm using AA as an example but I hate Lamb of God, hatebreed, As I Lay Dying and All That Remains as well. American metalcore is a nonstop snoozefest for me. Hatebreed is hardcore as well, not metalcore.
  18. List 'em! I know it's still early in the year, but feel free to update your list as new releases come out! Here's mine: 1: Soilwork - The Living Infinite 2: Amorphis - Circle 3: Amaranthe - The Nexus 4: Jolly - The Audio Guide to Happiness, Part 2
  19. I think this is their last good album. Everything Remains doesn't work for me for some reason. I've also heard some of Helvetos and it doesn't grab me.
  20. I enjoy some metalcore, but most of that is the non-american stuff like Threat Signal and Sonic Syndicate. Juvenile metalcore like Asking Alexandria is fuckin stupid lowest common denominator bullshit.
  21. Hey all! I have a solo band called ORCumentary, where I write and record everything on my synth. Despite this setup, I normally gig twice a month roughly (just me and my keyboard). To describe my style, it's comedic folk/prog/power metal with an original story based around Orc Adams (me) as I and my orc friends basically destroy goblins, elves, dwarves, and humans. It's a hell of a lot of fun and i've been doing this for 7 years and in that time i've put out two albums and an EP. You can listen to some of my music at the below link: soundcloud.com/orcumentary If you like what you hear, I have CDs and shirts for sale at www.orcumentary.bigcartel.com . Also, my music is on all digital retailers (but my new album has a bonus track on the CD version called "Fuck The Elves", a true crowd-pleaser). I am on all social media as well. Give it a listen, you won't be disappointed!
  22. Right now just listening to my co-workers talking but earlier I was listening to Fear Factory's latest. Good stuff.
  23. Yeah i'd classify it as Bullshit-core
