  1. Manowar - The Crown and the Ring (2008)
  2. I couldn't love this post more if I tried. This is exactly my view, although you put it extremely bluntly lol. There is no "meaning of life" other than what you choose to make of your life.
  3. I'm currently waiting for Nattfodd to come in the mail. It's the edition that comes with the Trollhammeren EP. As Yoda would say "So excited, I am."
  4. Seeing all these emotional and profound lyrics makes me want to post one of my band's songs (and yes, this is a real song) ORCumentary - Orc Rock Anthem Orc Rock Anthem My name is Orc Adams I'm in a band called ORCumentary If you do not like my music I will hang you from a tree! You don't think i'll do it, do you?! You are right, I'd prefer not to I'd prefer to take a sword and cleave you in two! ORCumentary is the best band in the universe Anyone you name, any band you name is most definitely worse! What makes my band so awesome? I sing about real things! Not dumb things like love and heartache or how many karats has my golden ring! I put to song the true events on how I became the hero of the orcs slaying men, elves, dwarves, and goblins was a hell of a lot of work! pull up a chair, if you dare or just stand right there and orc rock till your clothes become threadbare!
  5. This may not fit blutausnerd's definition of tech death but Allegaeon is the only band I listen to that i'd consider tech-death. I'm not too big on the genre as a whole.

    Tattoos

I don't have any yet, but next Saturday i'm getting my first one, which is the ORCumentary logo. I'm at work and don't have access to the picture without the text, so I had to take it from google. Getting this bad boy on my left calf. Also planning on getting a tattoo on my right arm of my favorite band, Elvenking, and something Lord of the Rings related. My ideas for those two aren't concrete yet and I want to see how tat #1 goes before I plan on getting any more.

    Pantera !

    so so so so overrated
  8. I find all Christian music to be completely absurd and (unintentionally) hilarious. I saw Stolen Babies a while back opening for Paradise Lost and I absolutely hated it. It was very weird, which I guess was their "thing". Chick singer with an accordian, guitar, bass, drums, and a guy who had a weird percussion contraption. Their music made me want to gouge my ears out with a rusty spork. Amaranthe's song "Electroheart" made me wtf at first because it sounds like it belongs on the DDR soundtrack. I liked it after a couple listens though. Has anyone heard "Wizard Rock"? It's a genre apparently; fanboys/girls with absolutely no musical talent play mostly acoustic/indie music about harry potter. I enjoy the books and the films, but bands like Harry and the Potters and The Parselmouths make some of the stupidest music i've ever heard, next to Christian pop. Also saw a parody of Gangham Style called Gandalf Style, which I thought was hilarious.
  9. Soilwork, Scar Symmetry, The Unguided, Threat Signal, Solution .45, Disarmonia Mundi... For some reason I thought I liked more melodeath bands. Bummer. *braces for blutausnerd to shit on my list because he shits on all music I like*
  10. They are definitely a fun band, but for every 1 great song of theirs, they have at least 3 teeth-grindingly awful songs. It also kind of annoys me how simplistic their drums are. I don't need incredibly complex drum skills, but i'm confident I could probably play most of their drum parts and i've never played drums before. I do enjoy some songs of theirs, but given their aforementioned inconsistency I would never buy any of their cds. Example: I burned Warriors of the World from my old radio station's cd library and out of the 11 songs on that album only 3 were good. They seem like they'd be a very fun band to see live, but whenever they come around here the tickets are unbelievably overpriced.
  11. I was brought up Catholic, but I was never a "true believer", as in I believed in my heart and soul that there was a God. It was easier just to not think about it, although I had been "doubting" for a few years. It wasn't until recently that I had an epiphany of sorts and shortly after I accepted that I discovered a new part of myself. I wouldn't consider myself "depressed" about it, if anything it's liberating. Atheism, I guess, is a "depressing" way of life compared to the idea of eternal paradise after we die, but isn't "real love" "depressing" compared to how movies and the media idealize romance?
  12. The exercises and tips in the Melissa Cross DVDs are excellent. I highly recommend them. The first DVD is more focused on rock and metal "singing", but the exercises and warmups also apply to screaming. I use the warmups before every show and they definitely help.
  13. I only have Fiction and Damage Done. I love the evil hiss that Stanne uses on their newer stuff, but for some reason, when he uses more of a shout (like on their older stuff) I find it irritating. Maybe if I listen to Damage Done more I might "get it", but for now I just think it's "okay".
  14. 3 Inches of Blood Skeletonwitch That is all
  15. I don't care that you don't like them, but you describing them as "mallcore kids" is laughable and couldn't be farther from the truth. Most thrash bands i've heard recycle the same riffs and have that really annoying "shouting" kind of vocals. Personally I think Skeletonwitch is doing something "different" (using that term loosely because this is thrash metal we're talking about) but what do I know?
  16. I've been thinking about my finances a lot lately. I need to spend more of my money on my bills and less on stupid shit. I mean, I make enough to pay all my bills with a decent amount left over , but I have a sudent loan debt i'd like to be rid of sooner rather than later. Atheism has also been on my mind a lot lately, since it's a (lack of) belief i've discovered about myself pretty recently and unfortunately i don't have too many people to talk to about it.
  17. They were one of the first metal bands I ever got into, and they are definitely my favorite thrash band. Unfortunately i've only seen them live once (back in 2007) but i'm hoping to catch them this fall on their tour with Death Angel. Anyone else here a fan?
  18. I dig Skeletonwitch, one of the few thrash bands I find interesting. Their first CD was good, second was okay, but their third was great. They just posted a new track off their upcoming album, which is really good. If it's any indication, Serpents Unleashed will be their best album yet.
  19. Just heard the new Skeletonwitch track. It rips \m/
  20. I rarely listen to music at home. Most times I partake while at work, at the gym, or in the car. Sometimes I like firing up my cd player with my nice stereo headphones to hear an album or a few songs in the highest quality, but that doesn't happen too often.
  21. My favorite song of theirs is Too Extreme!
  22. toes, but the elephant didn't know i'm allergic to toes, so instead I bent Taylor Swift over and inserted...
