  1. Not trying to pile on here, but using the same logic, wouldn't a lot of the same bands be the first wave of first wave of pretty much every metal sub-genre?
  2. Yeah, I would agree with that, most of the good post-Risk albums are only about as good as Cryptic Writings, with around two good songs each.
  3. Pretty good all round. That name seems pretty familiar.... I like the bass and vocal tones. Really liked the section at around 1:40 on the first track. There's a weird echo thing in your vocals at about 0:30 on the second track, is this on purpose? On a related note, the vocal section that follows doesn't seem to rhythmically fit, to me.
  4. Sounds fun but I don't go up to Melbourne that often either. The forseeable future for me is a shitstorm of assignments and tests but I can possibly make it during or after break.
  5. I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I don't know what a sejd is or how there are enamies in music. Yeah, the place I used to do weekly open mic at closed recently too so I know the feeling.
  6. When questioned by channel 9, the man stated his next stop was the mortuary, looking for "loose skulls".
  7. Thanks, man. I've been doing vocals for around a year and a half. Any improvement in tone since last time I put vocals up on here is probably largly due to advice from FA.
  8. Here's your song with my addition. What do you think? https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3Qig96mjFpaOG92bkdaX25ZWEE
  9. Oh sweet, I like really it, makes me think a little of Dave Mustaine in the feel and patterns, but kinda bluesier. Shows off a little of what's good about the game because I don't think that I would have wrote a solo at all like that, It's cool to see someone else's take on an idea. This is also really cool, hopefully I can add a little to it tomorrow night or the night after.
  10. I can find something I like in most genres if I look hard enough. My favorite is metal, I also like (hard or classic) rock, blues and classical (the latter of which I really need to expand my knowledge and collection of). Not a huge fan of hip-hop or pop as I get bored of them pretty quickly and often find the music and lyrics typically insipid and mediocre. To judge whole genres is a pretty huge generalization though, and I'm sure that there's plenty of stuff out there that I would like, especially as the main experience I've had with these genres is stuff that's been on the radio or TV. Not often a fan of most electronic music forms (especially simple, repetitive stuff meant for dancing) but have occasionally heard stuff I like, not to mention I'm lumping a whole lot of genres together when I say "electronic music" so really I'm mostly ignorant.
  11. Vader- The Empire Opeth- Deliverance
  12. Ah, I think I chose to read it in the wrong tone.
  13. Oh, that makes sense.... And there died my hopes of Don't Give A Damn Day
  14. 6.5/10 Not bad, I like the vocal tone, general feeling and groove of the song, not a huge fan of most of the riffs or the solo.
  15. I geddit! As far as I know, I don't think giving a damn is function of the forum or something. It just popped up when I first tried to Horns Up your The Sound Of Perseverance post. I could after closing after the banner, I tried Horns Upping some of your other posts and it only came up again after I un-Horns Upped that post and then re-Horns Upped it. Weird. I wonder if its a bug or maybe it's national don't give a damn day somewhere and one of our beloved moderators is making a joke?
  16. Sorry Thrashman, apparently I'm not allowed to give you a Damn.
  17. That's fair, I don't really remember last years Christmas special but after looking it up I remember the plot. I must have missed the bits you were talking about.
  18. You and I have a different idea of typical rock, but whatever you're into. Glad I found one sound you like.
  19. To me those songs are on the slow side, but here are some songs I think are pretty similar in some way. People=Shit is not that nonsensical to me (at some point I've even learned the song on guitar) but each to his own, is it the tremolo picking parts that you don't like? Disturbed- Droppin' Plates Disturbed- Meaning of Life Fear Factory- Securitron (Police State 2000) Fear Factory- Obsolete Five Finger Death Punch- Burn MF Five Finger Death Punch- Dot Your Eyes (Probably most of The Wrong Side Of Heaven And The Righteous Side Of Hell, Vol. 1 fits your description) Slipknot- Gematria (The Killing Name) Slipknot- Before I Forget Slipknot- The Heretic Anthem Slipknot- (Sic) (also a fair bit of Slipknot s/t and Iowa probably fit your description to some point) Korn- Divine
  20. There is a slim chance of that happening. I'm not a huge reality TV fan. I think I vaguely remember that episode, I think that the Doctor was going to die for some reason and was going out with a bang and for some other reason Missy was at the time working with Clara. I could be remembering stuff wrong though.
  21. Good lord you poor soul, missing Doctor Who for My Kitchen Rules. That's like missing a day at a carnival for a week of waterboarding. I agree on Capaldi, he feels a little more like an original series Doctor when compared to Smith or Tennant. Also he plays a red SG with a whammy (I think a 70's model maybe) and on that alone he is awesome. Not sure what I think of Bill yet.
  22. Cool. I think I'd be making a pretty bad case trying to say that Sacrament is thrash, I think It's more groove metal. Some of the stuff on Ashes Of The Wake was more what I was thinking of when I said thrash. A sad, sad day for MetalForum.
  23. Mayhem- Grand Declaration of War Death Angel- The Dream Calls for Blood Deicide- Serpents Of The Light
