  1. Fact about me: I didn't eat nearly as much as I expected to on Thanksgiving weekend. As a matter of fact, I weighed myself this morning and I weigh less than I have in months!
  2. Fact about me: I've lost 14 lbs since January! I still have a ways to go before I reach my goal, but I lost this much with relatively no effort. I'll need to ramp up my efforts to break past this plateau though.

    Books?

I'm re-reading the Harry Potter series for the first time since the last one came out. Just finished Book 2 last night.
  4. One Way Mirror - Destructive by Nature
  5. I have a feeling there was a topic about it before. Ah well. Anyone on this site that wants to add me: orcslayr23
  6. I saw Gravity this past weekend. It might be the best movie i've seen all year. the amazing visuals and acting are sure to get it a ton of oscar nominations (if not wins).
  7. ORCumentary released a new music video on Saturday! Check it out! I can't link it from work, but if you youtube "ORCumentary Goblin Death March" you'll find it. It's a fantastic video that i'm immensely proud of. The visual aspect is similar to an SNES RPG. Also, going to see Jolly tonight. Pretty excited, especially because my gf is going too.
  8. Y_lhKeJktm0 Check out my band ORCumentary's new music video!
  9. The first concert I ever went to was when I was a kid, there was some oldies act that my Dad liked, I don't even remember which one. My first metal concert was Dragonforce on my 17th birthday in 2006.
  10. Thanks for the tip! I quickly went through their list and found 3 good titles! Idk if i'll get them with this paycheck though, i got two concerts i'm going to over the next two weeks and a looming credit card bill lol.
  11. Valdemar Skjerning - production of a nuclear weapon Can't get to Flickr from here.
  12. Yeah, Metalsucks is very funny. It's blocked here at work though, so I only read it when I remember to at home.
  13. I rarely buy (anything) in brick and mortar stores anymore. There aren't a lot in my area that carry good stuff at a price comparable to that i'd find online. Normally I buy CDs on ebay, amazon (not so much anymore, now that they charge tax and have a $35 free shipping minimum), and grooves-inc. I have my eye on CD Baby as well; there are a couple titles on there that are priced very well that aren't pretty much anywhere else.
  14. JMD, i'll see you in Atlanta next year!
  15. I saw them live a couple days ago (I was front and center). I hadn't seen them since 2007, so naturally I went apeshit. I would've loved a longer set, but 8 songs isn't bad. Got a tour shirt and a set of 3 7" vinyls. The setlist is below if anyone is interested. 3 Inches of Blood Concert Setlist at The Middle East, Cambridge on November 2, 2013 | setlist.fm
  16. As of Tuesday, (and a little over a month of tickets being on sale) ProgPower XV is SOLD OUT! I'm glad I got my tickets when I did.
  17. Soilwork - Sworn to a Great Divide (Japan)
  18. Septic Flesh because I don't know any Dead Congregation songs. Although the only song i've heard from Septic Flesh is The Vampire from Nazareth, which is fuckin great. Skeletonwitch or 3 Inches of Blood?
  19. I wasn't really intentionally going for a "dark" sound, it's just what came out when I was writing. What's happening in the story is kind of matched by the music, so if a song sounds darker/more downtempo it's because Orc Adams is lost with his incompetent companion in a dark forest, they're travelling across a desolate plain with dust storms all around, etc. Sure, the whole thing is a bit silly, but there are more "serious" moments. It's really more about the music anyway. There are definitely more upbeat-ish songs on the album, but the ones I posted were darker.
  20. Soilwork - Sworn to a Great Divide (Japan)
  21. ...It took you a half hour of listening to their music to come to the conclusion that they suck? I will say though that, as a screaming vocalist, the low screams in Suicide Silence (or, the ones by their dead vocalist) are fuckin nasty.
  22. I'll admit i've never been interested in Sepultura, but I checked this track out yesterday and I really like it, enough to spend a buck on it from amazon mp3.
  23. I'm considering giving piano lessons. I could definitely use the extra money. While I haven't played very much sheet music since I stopped taking lessons 6 years ago (took lessons for 11 years), I (as you may know) haven't been far from a keyboard that whole time. Giving beginner lessons for kids or adults wouldn't be too difficult, I think. Just need to get my piano tuned.
