Here are some of my favorites: ORCumentary - Orcs 1 Goblins 0 Elvenking - The Scythe Amorphis - Silent Waters Amorphis - Skyforger Amorphis - The Beginning of Times Amorphis - Circle Jolly - The Audio Guide to Happiness (Part 1) Jolly - The Audio Guide to Happiness (Part 2) Kamelot - The Black Halo
  2. I just got Dead by April's self-titled debut, so i'll be spending a lot of today listening to that. I'll probably be listening to Amaranthe's latest some more too.
  3. My favorite has to be the video for "Goblin Death March" by ORCumentary ;D
  4. My favorite album this year is definitely The Pagan Manifesto by Elvenking. This might be their best album yet; almost every song is 5 stars. Here's the rest of my list: 2: Scar Symmetry - The Singularity 3: The Unguided - Fragile Immortality 4: Sonic Syndicate - Self-Titled 5: Poets of the Fall - Jealous Gods 6: Dead by April - Let The World Know 7: Tuomas Holopainen - The Life and Times of Scrooge 8: Vallenfyre - Splinters
  5. Scar Symmetry - The Singularity Amaranthe - Massive Addictive Dead By April - s/t Soilwork - Beyond the Infinite
  6. I'm very critical of american shows, but...holy shit. The Blacklist is absolutely brilliant. It is kind of "villain of the week", but every episode is very intense and well-done. There is an overarching story that's kind of like Lost that's furthered with each episode. I'm only about halfway through the first season.
  7. A few weeks ago I saw Dracula Untold. It would've been a passable, brainless dark fantasy action film if the ending wasn't so fucking stupid. Luke Evans did a good job in the lead role; I could definitely see him being the lead in many more films. 5/10 A few days ago I saw John Wick. It wasn't as good as people were saying it was, but it was an above-average action movie. 6.5/10.
  8. Hey guys, it's been a while since I posted on here last. Lots going on: So my fiancee and I have finally set a wedding date and things are coming together fast. Also, we are buying the house we have been renting for the past (almost) 3 years. And i've finally gotten a new band started up. Granted, it's in its very early stages, but so far I have a guitarist and second vocalist working with me. I'm still writing all the music but they give their input on arrangement and whatnot.
  9. I finally broke down and got a smartphone. It's cool having the entirety of the internet at my fingertips I guess.
  10. I just had a couple pieces of apple cheesecake. before that I had homemade chili for lunch.
  11. So, after a lot of thought, I have decided to keep ORCumentary going. If you want to read about it, I made a post here: ORCumentary Is Not Going Anywhere! Also, some new shows. | Welcome to the Official ORCumentary Website!
  12. I just got James LaBrie's latest album, Impermanent Resonance and have been listening to it a lot lately. Songwriting-wise, it's an improvement over his previous album, but i'm a tad disappointed that there's so little screaming. His cleans and the screams compliment each other pretty well, especially since musically it's more similar to Soilwork than Dream Theater. There are truly some epic choruses. I'm not sure which of his two latest solo albums I like more, but honestly I enjoy both of them more than most Dream Theater.
  13. I was supposed to audition a guitarist last night but a half hour after he was supposed to show up I got a text saying that he just woke up, that he hadn’t been sleeping well lately, and if I was still expecting him. I of course said no. Oh well, the search goes on. On the plus side, I came up with a second solid song idea for this new project.
  14. You're just pulling my leg, Mr/Ms Oblivion ;D
  15. Here are a few albums that (more recently) I find myself continuously going back to: Elvenking - The Pagan Manifesto Elvenking - Red Silent Tides Mnemic - Mnemesis Poets of the Fall - Live in Moscow Dark Tranquillity - Construct Disarmonia Mundi - Mind Tricks (Extended)
  16. Unfortunately no, at least not in that incarnation. The guitarist and drummer bailed after our first songwriting session lol. I’ve been doing a bit of non-orc writing lately and I plan on putting the idea(s) on Soundcloud so people will know what style I want rather than just trying to convey it verbally. The female singer I was working with in the previous incarnation said she's still interested in working with me and I have a guitarist who's interested in jamming at the moment. We'll see how this goes I guess.
  17. Wow, it’s been a while since I posted last on this site. Big news with me: I will be stopping all ORCumentary-related activities soon. I have a few shows in August and want to set up a few more for the Fall, but I plan to take most of next year off and figure out the future of this musical endeavor. It wasn't an easy decision, especially since the next album is mostly written, but ORCumentary can't keep going the way that it is right now.
  18. Well, today I am back to work after 9 days off in a row. It was nice to get away from all my problems for a few days. I also had another band practice on Friday, this time with a second vocalist and the drummer. We started working on a cover. This wednesday we're going to meet again but this time with a guitarist.
  19. I recently bought The Pagan Manifesto by Elvenking, so i've been listening to that a lot.
  20. These past couple days i've been listening to a lot of Dead By April. I just got the album Incomparable and it's really good.
  21. I'm not sure whether I responded to this topic already, but the majority of my music-listening happens when i'm driving and when i'm at work.
  22. You know what was really overhyped? Godzilla. I wasn't a fan.
