Start my new job today at Domino’s as a delivery driver wish me luck

Stay clear of those old folks homes. *obscure Steel Panther reference* Good luck though - I love Dominos. I’m still down at the beach house and so damn antsy I’m like a leathal weapon. Back up to the city on Tuesday for a romantic dinner with the Countess minus the children, then she goes back to the beach (seriously this is exhausting...) and I stay in the city to party with metal and booze. Longest summer ever and I pledge eternal death to the enemy sun.

I basically shut myself in my room today and wrote some music. Time contracted and disappeared. First time in a couple of years that I've felt able to be productive with it, and it feels great, sort of like part of my mind took a bath it didn't know it needed. Whether the band will be able and willing to play the thing is another issue, but at least I have this little plateau to enjoy.

I love "Shrines", and I also liked it better than I did Vermis. I get a nice sense of progression through their albums. "Destroyers" and "Shrines" are the two I listen to the most, but "Everything Is Fire" is fire too. That's the one that really got me into them -- some of my online metal friends don't like it as much because of its "post-metal" qualities: more drawn-out melodies and more atmospheric vibe. It's a little less suffocating and intense than the others but I think it's superb.

Strangely enough I have never gotten around to "The Destroyers of All", I have just queued it on my radar list (along with half a million other albums). I think everything I have heard thus far has been an improvement on the previous and I thought "Shrines.." to be the pinnacle for me. Will check out "The Destroyers..." though.

Hope you all had a nice Christmas. I finally decided to start an electric guitar course, which will hopefully help me to gain enough confidence to start recording music, and perhaps to start a band/label someday.
