'The End Complete' was my first album by them and stands as my favorite. 'Cause of Death' is right beside it though. I actually like all of their albums.
I've seen them live twice and had a blast both times. Last year they did 'Slowly We Rot' in full and now this year 'CoD'? Cool! I'm there!

    44. Monstrosity - Imperial Doom

I just happened to be listening to this album while reading through the thread and see no reason why I shouldn't go ahead and give it praise now.
Most Metal audiences know about Corpsegrinder and his many years fronting Cannibal Corpse, but before that, dwelling in the infamous Florida Death Metal Hell, he was raging in Monstrosity and their debut album, 'Imperial Doom' is one of the best to come from that legendary early 90s era.
I first heard the tune 'Ceremonial Void' via the life-changing (for me) Nuclear Blast compilation, 'Death is Just the Beginning 2', and shortly after I tracked down the VHS comp of the same name, sans the 2 (not an easy task in those days, folks), and that had a short interview with Corpsegrinder and Mark Van Erp before launching into the video for 'Final Cremation'. The rest, as they say, is history. Such fine stuff. As time has flowed, this has grown into one of those important Metal albums I simply couldn't imagine not having.
The songs are all total ragers and each member's performance is pure aggression! You can't fake the real thing. John Rubin's guitar work is the best Thrash and the best Death blending together. Just listen to those riffs, the attack. The solos sound like moments out of Horror or Sci-Fi cinema. Van Erp's bass guitar sounds like it's being punched repeatedly and asking for more. The insane drumming from Lee Harrison that is both loose and tight, and has better blast-beats than most Black Metal records. And of course, Mr. Fisher's vocals are that which actually sound like a psychotic demon - something lacking from oh so many "Metal" vocal performances.
Of course, a great album benefits from a great cover and Dan Seagrave's offering here is #3 of my top three Seagrave covers. (I shall save what numbers one and two are for when I comment on those albums. Whether I post about them or someone else does, both will certainly be on this list.)
As far as I have seen over time, this album remains sadly underrated. I cannot recommend it enough! Mandatory Death Metal!

Here is the latest version of my Mayhem collection. I've also finally got around to cataloguing it. I think my collecting will slow down a bit now because I seem to have most things that are floating around the planet, and there are only so many times you can have the 'Dawn of the Blackhearts'/'Sarpsborg' show on CD... By my count I also have about 20 copies of the song 'Freezing Moon', most in unique versions. @Balor @RelentlessOblivion @Vampyrique @True Belief @salmonellapancake @Benjaminc81

Corrosive gave a Damn to FatherAlabaster in Women in metal
This isn't a debate. You're just offering rhetoric and personal observations to back up your armchair musings and trying to bat down anyone who seems to have a different view. Can't call it a celebration either, the only thing you seem to be celebrating is your own writing.
It's hard to know where to start responding to this thread. It's essentially dishonest. It's not about "women in metal", it's about your opinions and the (limited) role you see for women in metal; and it's not about discussing "reasons" for your unsupported claim that women tend to do vocals rather than play instruments, because you seem to have it all figured out. You're just here to expound. I guess it's kind of clever to say you're interested in a "discussion" of some point, when you're actually taking it as a given and using it to support your other ideas, because it keeps the ball in your court and everyone else on their back foot. It lets you steer things towards the points you want to make. But it doesn't make for a good thread.
I'm not convinced that women in rock and metal do, in fact, statistically tend to be vocalists rather than play instruments; maybe you just think that because you notice them more? Even if that were the case, it's a pretty big jump to claim that it must be due to physical or mental differences between the genders. Of course you don't come right out and say that you think they can't hack it; you say that they "just aren't interested" in those instruments, offer a counterpoint of actual data that doesn't support what you're saying, and then brush it aside with some handwaving about "an Ed Sheeran effect". Now, the "Ed Sheeran effect" is actually about women finding red-haired men more attractive because of Ed Sheeran's popularity, but you're extending it to say it's also the reason why women are buying more guitars lately. The subtext there is that it's all down to sex appeal and marketing, not some organic uptick in female interest in playing music. In other words, women aren't really interested in music, per se, but they might manage to learn how to bang out some tunes thanks to the influence of a popular male cultural figure.
Then we get to the "small hands" bit. This is a howler. If this was true, you'd think women (and men!) with small hands wouldn't take up the bass guitar, or the cello, or the double bass... and yet they do! (On this note, I would invite you to think back about ten or fifteen years to the stereotype that "chicks always play the bass".) You'd think people with larger hands wouldn't play violin, or mandolin, or anything else comparatively tiny and finicky... and yet they do. Guitar's not that big of an instrument. Playing metal is not some massive, Herculean undertaking. And you can't use the fact that women tend to have smaller hands than men, statistically, on average, as evidence for some sharp distinction between the genders. Hand size is a spectrum. There's no bright-line discontinuity. This is a category error on your part.
You lecturing ChainsawAkimbo about "real science" being "based on observation" is extra funny when you haven't offered one bit of real-world data to support what you're saying, aside from a few anecdotes about a handful of musicians within your own sphere of knowledge. Deliberately misunderstanding his point about "cavemen" doesn't do you any favors. And the repeated worries about staying "on topic" are pretty funny too, considering that you said you wanted to "celebrate women in metal" but have yet to mention anything actually positive about any particular female musician, or women's contributions to music in general. Since we're relying on personal anecdotes here, I'd like to share that I personally know a bunch of ripping female musicians - some of whom love and play metal - and I can assure you that in my 27 years of playing music I've seen no evidence of any difference in talent or ability on any instrument that I could attribute to gender. There is no denying that women are underrepresented in rock and metal, but you're way out over your skis.
Now I'm gonna go listen to Anachronism, and maybe some Nachtlieder.

So far been mostly quiet writing songs and rehearsing, but now's a good time to start bringing it out in the open. We're currently recording our debut album, that will be out sometime in the fall.  A couple of the demo tracks above will also get a new treatment on the lp.

Euronymous rots in his grave, snuffed out of existence forever, while Varg becomes a social media personality, living a free and happy life. Where’s the justice?
As for new releases, I have so many “favourite” bands after nearly 30 years in this crazy business that most of the new albums that I will buy and hear are from my long term consorts in concerts. Which is great because there are always plenty of albums that I can’t wait to hear coming out.
It makes it hard for new bands to wriggle into my air time, but it’s still possible.

They have a new split out with Hammergoat, but the CD is messed up. All of Hammergoat's tunes have digital scratching happening throughout.

Yes. I first got in touch not too long after 'Blessed by Aris' was released on cassette. I've interviewed him, also.
He is also involved with Chaosbaphomet, which is more Hellenic sickness, though quite different to Unholy Archangel.
He's fairly easy to get in touch with. Contact info listed in every release I own - sans the split mentioned above, oddly enough.
I want to also give credit to Agisilaos, as he writes all those lovely Unholy Archangel melodies.
