Requiem given a Damn from Balor in New Purchases/Acquisitions
Went into the city today, bought (finally) Rotting Christ - 'Thy Mighty Contract' on a whim, then left it in the kebab shop near my house. I came back a few hours later to find it exactly where I'd left it. The good people of my neighbourhood opting against a free Rotting Christ CD. Crazy, hey.

Graveland - 'Memory and Destiny'
One of the dreamiest albums in the viking/pagan genre; a journey back in time, when heroes were heroes and seas were made to be sailed upon. The sound effects of the waves and the "Odin" arrow shooting sample from '13th Warrior' are delicious additions.

Rotting Christ - 'Non Serviam'
I've been listening to 'Thy Mighty Contract' and 'Non Serviam' all evening. Great albums that I'd sort of underrated, and I've owned 'Non Serviam' for years...

Requiem gave a Damn to MacabreEternal in What's on your mind?
Bank holiday weekend in lockdown (or not depending on how much of a bell end you are flouting the minor changes the government has made) and yesterday was mowing the lawn after hedgerow trimming. Also deliver the mother in law back home after 3 weeks of her staying (still don't understand why she had to come and risk COVID-19 in the house) and the whole house is more relaxed.
One week into a detox of sorts (I am only drinking virgin's blood for the forseeable future) and have just been outside throwing some dumbells around on the decking, trying to unlock 20 year old me some 20 years after he packed up and left on an endless world tour it seems. Healthier diet this week has made me marginally more cheery (haven't killed anyone since Tuesday) so look out for Happy Macca on the forum!

Requiem given a Damn from Sabazios in Does humour have a place in music?
This is hilarious. They play in Melbourne all the time but I've never seen them - maybe I should check them out. A good friend of mine really loves them.
I think to understand the humour here you sort of have to be Australian. Everywhere you go people ask you if you've been busy. No joke, I went to the dentist the other day and the guy goes, "How have you been?" and as I open my mouth to answer he says, "Busy? Yeah, busy". It was so funny. Afterwards my wife and I made a point of commenting on it to each other as we had both noticed the verbal idiosyncrasy.
So yeah, very funny stuff if you're an Austraaaaaalian.

Fuck yeah!
Say what? I didn't realise there was a documentary about Death? That's great, I'll have to check it out. Where did you see it?

Requiem gave a Damn to Vampyrique in Paradise Lost
That's all fake noose, but that's old news to me. Indeed, you're on fire with those arms of yours, but I'm afraid you're the one about to be roasted!
Now, any nous is good nous, and you'd be better off producing some so you can keep your wits about you. Otherwise, you'll be dusted off like tiny pieces heaped into a work of motes-art and swept up by a brume of bad punnery, no (dead)pan required. Best you stay bach, or my wolves, with their fur-elise, will keep you at bay-thoven, sonata thing you can do about it!
Okay, that last one was dreadful, near suicidal. Best we talk like Victorian gentlemen over tea and crumpets and discuss Anglo imperialism or some such matter?

Paradise Lost - 'Obsidian'
The first three songs are definitely the best, and I'm wondering whether there might not be a touch of filler towards the back end. More listens are required. Loving it so far though.

I like Salmonotherclowncake's taste in music.
NP: As We Die for Paradise Lost - Holy Records Paradise Lost Tribute from 1998.
A very interesting release, for sure. I bought a copy that I think is second hand but looks absolutely mint for about 6 bucks. Considering Paradise Lost were only about 8 or 9 years old when it came out, it would be like a tribute album for a band that first produced an album in 2011. Pretty hard to imagine these days.
Amazing how time has sped up in the 21st century. 9 years when I was young meant 6 or 7 albums from a band. Today it means maybe 3.
