  1. Erm...........**grabs a Sharpie, scribbles with tongue out** Yep, black one right here!
  2. In a perhaps unexpected response given my dark nature - YES! We have curly straws in 4 different colours here - largely thanks to the missus though, in return for her getting curly straws I encourage her to let me buy her clothes from Spiral!
  3. Erm........***looks at empty glass, goes to fridge for remainder but girlfriend beat him to it*** I can offer you a nice 5 hop lager???

    Death

Reading Chris Reifert's notes on the reissue of "Scream Bloody Gore" and he tells the story of how the original engineers for the record made a complete hash of it. I almost have sympathy with the engineers in question, getting that sound in the late eighties and not knowing what the fuck to do with it. What was about at the time to compare it with? Possessed? Necrovore? Thank fuck for Randy Burns.
  5. On the wine again, this is a bad sign - tomorrow is a 6am start!
  6. I take it you very much enjoyed this? Up there in my top ten thrash records of all time. Mitochondrion "Archaeaeon"
  7. The King Is Blind "Bleeding The Ascension" The King Is Blind "Deficiencies of Man"
  8. After FA's little Facebook rant on this subject matter I have been musing over this topic as I have gone about the day today and I have nothing major to add in terms of just echoing what has been said above already. As well as the acceptance of mediocrity what pisses me off in equal measure almost is the "well what do we expect from them at their age?" argument - which is an utter kop out. Another means to corroborate mediocrity by assuming everyone over 31 are in the twilight years of their career and should be allowed to release poppycock (probably can only record on day release from the nursing home eh?). If one more person tells how amazing Slayer are for their age I may do an actual poo! Likewise with me being told how I have got to respect Metallica for "still being in the game man!" after all these years. Fuck off! I will respect the above two bands for their earlier output and acknowledge and praise that as it deserves. A band gains no further respect from me for sticking around years after the quality in what they did diminished to a below par level of output. The only band of late I can possibly attribute having the common sense to finally hang up their boots before it gets too embarrassing is Black Sabbath. I mean "13" wasn't terrible but my god it was light years away from their best work.
  9. I want to say Messugah, but FA will be here in a minute to give me a wedgie and steal my dinner money as a result, so I may as well let him explain.
  10. Sacramentum "Far Away From The Sun"
  11. Okay, I'll bite. It isn't something I enjoy particularly. That withstanding, the production job is decent enough however your composition is too confusing for me although I applaud your ability it does seem like you are writing stuff to show off all your obvious influences and that just doesn't hold my interest. Good luck though.
  12. Last night I visited a "cinema". Apparently it is a place where young and happening people go to view popular narrative on a really big telly. Anyway, whilst I was there just generally not fitting in whilst eating cardboard in the shape of Doritos I happened upon a film about a bald man who although seemed to be very clever with his hands and feet was still learning to speak properly. "Mechanic:Resurrection" has nothing to do with a business owner starting again after making some poor decisions in the automobile industry the first time around, in fact there's hardly any cars in the film. Lot's of boats though, but again very little "engine-action" in comparison with what you would expect from the film name. Anyway, the bald man who spends far too much time in the gym instead of working on his social and cultural skills spends roughly an hour and a bit kicking the living shit out the whole cast and possibly some of the film crew also. Oddly though the whole thing is actually very entertaining and even has some references to Soviet era Communism which pleased me no end! It is a classic story of man meets woman, woman gets kidnapped and man kills other men in order to save the woman he just met five minutes ago but is now risking his life (and the safety and livelihood of others) to save when in fact he could disappear very easily and probably score on Tinder with much less hassle. Things blow up very easily around the bald man and I never see him being careless with matches or anything so he literally must always be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Poor bloke. 3/5
  13. Nice. Still prefer "Epidemic of Violence" though. Opeth "Sorceress" (single track) - I like this, more immediate to my ears than anything off the last two at least. Krallice "Orphan of Sickness"
  14. It is hard but with the forum's support I will try and make it through this difficult time.
  15. It's FatherAlabaster not Beer Advocate. Like you are Thrashman not Neophyte.?
  16. Death "Scream Bloody Gore" - it has taken me 27 years but I finally bought a Death album this week! There's something satisfying about singing "Zombie Ritual" out loud at the age of 40 but doing it like you are still 13 and discovering metal for the first time. Inquisition "Bloodshed....." - fuck that title but the record itself is awesome and works really well over four discs on vinyl I discovered today. Judas Priest "Stained Class" - whilst happily cataloguing my collection into my Excel spreadsheet last night i put this on as I got to "J" and it has been stuck in my head all morning since. One of their best records.
  17. This also arrived today. Black sleeveless "worker" shirt only mine has a half skull motif on the left breast (as I am wearing it) and the same larger motif across the back. I bought it to stay cool and let everyone I meet formulate the opinion that I fight in bars a lot and ride a bike!
  18. Hope that's Seedless Jam Nat???? Just been to one of our preferred haunts, the Hungry Monk in Southport had their legendary (locally at least) Steak and Onions Doorstep Sandwich and now have the appearance of someone expecting a beef and vegetable baby!
  19. Vinyl arrived this afty so NP: Inquisition "Bloodshed Across The Empyrean Altar Beyond The Celestial Zenith"
