So after six years with the old iPhone finally gave up the ghost… And can I just say the brain-dead moron who decided to get rid of the home button really should’ve been fired. Yeah that’s right I’m back with my petty complaints about the life of a blind man LOL

As usual, I've been jamming to my all-time favorite thrash band, and this album boosted me to a great workout at the gym today.  What a phenomenal album all the way through - not a single weak track.  Going to see them live on March 12 and can't wait to break my neck to "Wrecking Crew" when they play it!

I started listening to metal when I was about 11 I years old, still love it to this day! I’m 24 now nearly 25

This isn’t easy to type but my old guide dog passed today. Fifteen years of the best life any dog could want. Never going to forget him.

Wanted to put on a classic today.

As for me hmm well I bought new guitar strings recently… When it comes to new music I haven’t bought anything since the pandemic started sadly.

I'm good with them through Hysteria, but only for sentimental reasons. Hysteria hit when I was 13. I had pretty basic taste in music at that point. I remember hearing that record a gajillion times. It was on everywhere you went. Doesn't really stand up that well these days, but enjoyable now and then for a spin. Leaving out sentimental bullshit, I'd stop at Pyromania.

Awesome man!  Yep, totally agree!  It's just a fantastic album all the way through.  It's probably not as outright heavy as "Thunderbolt", but it's just as good in my opinion.  It's nothing short of amazing that they're still cranking out material this top-notch after so many years. Rock on!

So @JamesTand @blaaacdoommmmfanI finally got around to listening to Saxon’s latest album Carpe Diem! And just as I expected I love it! Listened to it 3 times through on my day off, really solid album yet again so many good riffs, Incredible how good they still sound Biff sounds great, I especially love the title track, Age of Steam, Dambusters, Remember the Fallen and Supernova, but there isn’t a bad track on the album!

The only stuff I like from them haha although High and Dry is pretty good too
I really don’t mind the cheesy lyrics to be honest, I like a lot of the stories Biff writes into the songs like Conquistador from Metalhead, Made in Belfast from Sacrifice and Secret of Flight from Thunderbolt, I definitely get yours and @navybsn’s point, but It doesn’t really bother me much as the music in general sounds just awesome to me solid heavy metal, and to be fair I think the lyrics suit the music most of the time maybe apart from the odd one that sticks out. Also yeah I agree Priest haven’t had much over the years but I do think Redeemer of Souls definitely had its moments like Halls of Valhalla or Battle Cry, Jugulator is better than anything they’ve done since the reunion though 100% but saying that I think even priest have done better than Maiden in modern times, (I so still love all of them though but Book of Souls is the best thing Maiden did since Brave new World in my book .)
 
Always good to see Tank get a mention! I love them, have all of their albums  my fave is probably Honour and Blood.

Alright, having been a big Saxon fan in the last century I guess your exclamation points must have gotten to me, and in a moment of madness I dialed up the new Saxon record on Youtube just to see what they're up to these days. This is not my usual sort of thing obviously, I don't really ever listen to 21st century heavy metal. But I will say that if I was ever to find myself in the mood for some throwback traditional heavy metal that even while this is a wee bit cheesy at times (especially lyrically, as if maybe Mr Byford's creative well has run a bit dry) it's still way better than anything fellow septuagenarians Judas Priest have done over the last 35 years or so.

Me again🙂 the mechanic at work agrees to. He said he saw Saxon not long ago and was very impressed with the show. Also the lucky duck 🦆saw motorhead not that long before Lemmy died. He said only bad part of show was the volume. As it went up and up and up he migrated further away from the front. 😁
Yeah the new Saxon album. I need to you tube that and put it on my wishlist as short of money. A band I'd like to see is iron maiden before they retire. Did you see a show or at download. Was they good.
