Fear Factory, Skinny Puppy, Stabbing Westword. I really liked this band growing up called God Lives Underwater (Skinny Puppy & GLU more like industrial rock). Obituary and Napalm Death started an Industrial Metal band called Meathook Seed. I like them a lot.
Max Cavalera’s Industrial side project 🔥
My parents listened to country and classic rock but nothin heavy. So in the early 90s I was in 5th grade and for my birthday I got my first CD. It was a movie soundtrack with lots of rap and I hated it. I took it to school on Monday and showed it to this kid whose locker was next to me. He asked me to trade for it right away and pulled out Metallica-Master of Puppets and Dr. Dre-The chronic both on tape. Gave me both for my shitty CD. I loved that Metallica album more than any other music I had heard up till then. That same year my new neighbor started to invite me over to watch Beavis and Butthead and Headbangers Ball. And that was when I figured out that metal was my favorite music.
I like the whole album but Kaisarion and Griftwood my fav. Both sound like Van Halen riffage at times. Kaisarion has a sweet Rush style breakdown. Also Fredrik Akesson from Opeth recorded all the guitars, rhythm and lead for the album.🔥🔥
Megadeth, Metallica, Kreator Slayer would be my big 4 in order. Anthrax last if I can’t sub. Lotta influential bands around that time. I like this topic in death and black metal as well.
1. Rust In Peace - Megadeth
2. Painkiller - Judas Priest
3. Cowboys From Hell - Pantera
4. Hammerheart - Bathory
5. Seasons In The Abyss - Slayer
6. Left Hand Path - Entombed
7. Cause of Death - Obituary
8. Facelift - Alice In Chains
9. Deicide - Deicide
10. Coma of Souls - Kreator
My first time hearing Doombringer. They kinda switched back and forth from death to black metal sounding to me. He sings both ways too which was cool. I love it! 8/10
