Barn - Habitat, Idaho death. Cody from Afterbirth tipped me to this band of youngsters this morning but midway through the first track I'm starting to think it might be just a little too technical for me. It's not tech death per se, I just mean techical in that I can hear a little later era Death in here.
 

Yeah Vikings the series was very good. I just started watching Vikings Valhalla last night which is set about 100 years after Vikings ends. It's not as good as the original Vikings series with Ragnar Lothbrook I don't think, but I found it enjoyable enough, I watched the first 4 episodes.
There is another series The Last Kingdom which is set in old England in the first century and features a lot of Norse/Viking characters that I thought was as good or maybe even better than Vikings.

Looks like we're getting a new Darkthrone album already! How about that album cover!! Lol, I think it's great personally. These guys truly do not give a single fuck. Set for release October 28.
 

That's like saying if you buy a PPV event you must watch it alone, or if you buy a piece of art to hang on the wall only you can look at it. The idea that "they" could ever hope to control who shares what type of artistic content between family members or housemates or close friends is laughable. You buy it, it's yours, do what you want with it. If something is good then word will spread and people will want to have their own legit copies. How many people have bought the same album multiple times? I know I have. But I have never bought any digital content from iTunes, not even back in the old days when I used their desktop player to synch my iPod because fuck Apple and their whole universe of products.

There's tape hiss, squeaky rollers, they come unwound too easily, and they break too easily. It's a shit format. Maybe if they could make the actual tape out of something besides a .000001 mm thick stretched out ribbon of plastic film that breaks if you so much as fart on it they might hold up a bit better. They were good for the record industry pigs of course because they'd always need to be replaced bianually.

Not disputing that this is the letter of the law. But what point is there in making a law if everyone knows there's no possible way to enforce it? 10+ years ago I used to buy CD's and rip them to the computer, and then burn CDR copies for the car that 99% of the time I'd usually be listening to alone. Didn't want to risk scratching up or losing my CD's. Since 2012 I've been buying digital, but I no longer burn copies because they don't put cd players in new cars anymore. But up until last year when Honda Motor Company stopped supporting the Galaxy S9+ rendering my phone's bluetooth unpairable, I would still copy files to my phone for mobile entertainment purposes. Someone could come along and tell me that technically I was breaking the law, and they'd technically be right. But I would tell them to go fuck themselves.

Man that first Altarage album was a fucking monster imho. The next three that came after not so much for me. I bought 2 more after Nihl but I never bought Succumb. Probably won't even bother to check out the new one unless I hear good things from people whose taste I trust.

I have thousands of vinyl and CDs. Tons of digital files. I buy stuff that makes me happy or provides me with some level of entertainment. All crap that my poor family will have to deal with when I go on to my reward. Most will no doubt get chucked in a bin. My daughter might pick through some of the more "normal" stuff, but that's not guaranteed. Personally, I don't care what they do with them. I won't be here to worry about it. Same way I feel about funeral planning. My wife asked me years ago what I wanted as it was fairly certain my time was due. I told her to do what made her happy. It's not like I was going to be around to complain. That's how I feel about my "stuff". Makes no difference to me. If I go soon, give it all to one of my buddies who's into the sick demented music I listen to or at least give them the opportunity to pick through the collection before it goes in the bin. If I outlast them, then donate it to the library or whatever. Certainly their collection of Archgoat and Satanic Warmaster vinyl is lacking.

Yes Kukey-dukey you did express that opinion, and that's fine. But you said a bit more than just that. To me your post came across as yet another instance of an Orca whinging about how people are disrespecting some band or album or sub-genre or musician that he happens to like. It came across as butt-hurt and passive aggressive. But don't take my response as an attack, take it as a friend just wanting to help you be the best Orca that you can be.
"But okay you be you" and "I love the way so many people...." and "Dave should have known better, Bad Dave!!" and "but we all have to have our excuses to throw shit at MegaDave" all these comments are passive-aggressive in case you weren't aware. It's not just this one post, you've also made many comments along these lines in the past. Clearly you just don't like it when people on the internet say uncomplimentary things about stuff you happen to like. Your reactions can often give the impression that you feel like people are critcizing you personally, when they're not.
Now I know you didn't quote her, but it certainly appeared like your post was at least in part a response to the post directly above yours. My feelings about this are that you really can't expect someone who was born in this century to have the same perceptions, feelings and attitudes as older dudes from our generation might, towards a legacy band like Megadeth whose hey-day was a good 15 or 20 years before they were even born.
I don't care what you might want to say to me, or how you want to say it. I can take whatever you've got coming my way without getting upset or butt-hurt. But Helvete, who is not a native English speaker, by expressing that she had a problem with Dave having a guest rapper on one track so that's gonna be her least favorite track, was offering a perfectly valid and fairly innocuous criticism about an album, and I don't think she deserved your little snide comments about her opinion. Even if those comments were partially aimed at people elsewhere on the internet who have also apprently dared to disrespect Dave and his new album for what you've deemed to be insufficient reasons. It's not really what you said that I take issue with so much as the way you said it.
It's not that I think she can't defend herself and needs my help just because she's a young girl. It's just that since English is not her first language I don't know if she has the eloquence to put a big old Orca in his place.
