I'm a big fan of Krallice but I didn't get a lot out of this one. It felt kind of half-baked or rushed when I listened to it, somehow more like a demo. I only listened to it once, so maybe I'm missing something. My favorite of theirs is Ygg Huur.

Thanks - I was super lucky in one way because it was all very curable and I took it as a huge warning to make sure I quit smoking and prohibit me from getting worse kinds of the disease. 
Good you didn't need any of similar warnings to give up smoking!

I am right there with you. Nicotine is my kryptonite. Impossible to have one smoke or one chew. But I am pretty disciplined realizing when I have to quit cold turkey and gut it out. I do fall off the wagon for a few weeks maybe once or twice a year, but then I wizen up and put the kabosh on it.
Drinking and other drugs I can take em' or leave em', thankfully. I am a lot better at buying Scotch than drinking it. One or 2 drinks a week is what I average, but easily go weeks or months without and don't miss it. Of course as a younger man I would binge drink often and such, but I will say that with the exception of smoking and some poor choices involving women I could always handle my booze without acting like a complete ass. I can hold my booze, or drugs or what have you, thankfully. 

In fact alcohol is considered a hard drug in some countries because of its addictive character. Your point that it is socially accepted is so true, so we don't bother too much but there is much drama all over the place because of alcohol. A friend of us is addicted for many years and fell over in the bathroom few months ago and bashed his head on the bathroom sink. This resulted in him getting into coma and right now he is just above vegetative state with very low expectations that he will ever be better. Main cause is years of alcohol abuse leading to this result. I have been drinking heavily in my youth and consistent for the years after. Like 2-3 glasses of wine or some whiskey/ brandy. Not getting pissed anymore. I think I can go without alcohol which is true if it isn't available, like when I am at work for weeks without any alcohol I am good. If there is any within grabbing distance I for sure pour me a glass of one or the other.

Also, I truly like the in depth discussions and the articulate writing to describe albums, music styles and what not. Maybe because I am not native English speaker, although I practise for some 38 years English, I by no means will be able to describe why an album is specifically good or not. For Ad Nauseam for instance I am listening with my teeth crushed together with my jaws under hypertension trying to get what is going on while really liking it at the same time. It was a great read from both you Goatmaster and Father A. to find out why the pro and con!

That reminds me of Cachaça, which is a Brazilian liquor also made from sugarcane. I've only had a handful of brands, but they were definitely made for mixing, neat was a punch in the chest. Have you tried any of those?

Severe weather in Dallas shut the airport down. It's the second largest in the US by passenger volume, so you can imagine the chaos it causes when something like that happens.

Suffering Hour does have a unique sound. It's those guitars. Great sort of open and "organic" tone, interesting chords, a great feel for the whammy bar. That Ad Nauseam album is on another level, the interplay between all the parts is so well thought out and they nailed the mix and sound. I liked the debut but I honestly think they raised the bar for the whole style with the new one.

This thread is quite good to recall some of the better releases that came out this year. This Suffering Hour is really good and is getting better with each spin. I have all their albums now except the first EP. Their first full length is also really good and bit more approachable compared to their last one. I find. I love the death metal they play and with a right amount of progressiveness to make it quite unique sound.
And Ad Nauseam is also a great release. Still in the process of getting the full picture of this release. Also one that needs multiple spins to get really soaked in.

Probably sponsored by the International College of Cardiologists. Sure, it probably works short term, but not because of anything special about red meat. It's the lack of processed foods that provides the real benefits.
I like red meat and all, but any diet that preaches one or two groups of food exclusively is never healthy in the long run. And yes, I would include veganism in that statement as well. Humans are omnivores. We need animal proteins from a variety of sources. A diet rich in whole foods that limits or eliminates processed foods and refined sugar is the best for 99% of humanity.

I love Altarage. I saw them few years back together with Eskhaton in a super tiny venue with max about 20 people present there. But Altarage made a huge impression on me. I liked them before the concert, I loved them after it. I have their latest on pre-order without listening any of it yet. Still has to arrive, so still patiently waiting for it.
