Balor given a Damn from Depraved in Favourite metal EPs of all time
Other eps that I have greatly enjoyed:
-Mgła - Mdłosci:
-Mgła - Further Down the Nest:
Mgła highlight their amazing riff skills in both of the eps, but also used a raw recording style that I like a lot.
-Satanic Warmaster - 瘴疠禁室:
A recording of demo songs that are rac-like in their catchiness and attitude. I thought it was terrible when I first listened to it, but grew to find its crude nature endearing.

Balor given a Damn from Requiem in New Purchases/Acquisitions
Your posts about Dungeon Synth have been making me really want to dive into the genre again! I always liked what I heard from it, but never spent a lot of time listening to it. I definitely need to give some of the Old Tower albums a proper listen.

Thanks man. It's a bummer. Poor fella has been in bed since he got home from school yesterday.

That's unfortunate. I hope he feels better!

Balor gave a Damn to Requiem in Mgla
I don't think the lyrics are as good as 'Exercises...'. They seem a little more opaque and less direct. Same style of lyrics ultimately though. It's like everything on 'Age...' is similar to 'Exercises...', but just not as special and sometimes lacking that x-factor. Still good though!!

Balor gave a Damn to Requiem in Mgla
The artwork doesn't bother me too much, and in some ways I think it's pretty cool. The whole booklet is pretty minimal and unexciting except for the lyrics, as it was for 'Exercises in Futility'.
Anyway, if you give it a few listens I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

Balor gave a Damn to Balor in Dungeon Synth
Oldenhelm is my favorite Dungeon Synth - equally ambient and moving.

Balor given a Damn from Requiem in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal
I never really got that deep into DSBM, but I have always been a fan of Xasthur through random tracks on youtube (missing out on a chance to buy Nocturnal Poisoning on cd is a regret of mine). I always liked his "2005 Demo," as it was short, dense, and had cover art that matched the music perfectly.
Another release that I always liked was Shining's Through Years of Oppression compilation. Some of the most shocking cover art that I have seen, and the Halloween theme cover that they titled "Black Industrial Misery" was amazing.
It is also worth linking the "One Man Metal" documentary series to this thread:

Balor given a Damn from Requiem in Albums you didn’t like at first but grew to like?
Speaking of Mayhem, it took me a while to like A Grand Declaration of War. The first several times that I listened to the album, I was totally thrown off by how weird it is. I listened to it without realizing that it represented a deliberate attempt to reinvent the band's sound, so I had expected it to sound like Chimera. I have never been a fan of spoken word, and was initially really disappointed by Maniac's vocal delivery.
Now, though, I have grown to like it more than any other Mayhem release, and I think that that was because it was so different from anything they (or any other bm band) have ever done. It is a work of genius, and such things can often only be recognized for what they are after spending a great deal of time with them.

Balor given a Damn from Zigmand in New to the forum
Personally, Filosofem is my favorite out of all of his releases. It has a perfect blend of black metal and ambient tracks (the two "Decrepitude" tracks are, I have realized, guitar renditions of the same melody found in "Illa tiðandi," which I am a big fan of also). After that, I like Hvis Lyset Tar Oss and his prison albums, though all releases are good.
I find it interesting that almost every person that I have spoken to about Burzum ranks his albums differently. Recently I talked with someone who liked Fallen the best!

Balor given a Damn from TilDeathDoUsBarf in Who is the best out of the big 4 ???
I always wondered why Anthrax was ever even including among the "big four" thrash bands. So many others (Testament, Destruction, Sodom, etc.) seem to deserve their place on the podium much more.

Balor gave a Damn to FatherAlabaster in Albums you wish you could unhear.
They need slogans, like "Doody Baldrs" or "Ea, Lord Of The Naps".

Band merch is getting way out of hand! First Behemoth starts making coffee and before you know it Burzum has baby clothes!

Balor gave a Damn to Requiem in The Official Black Metal Recommendations Thread
My post was a sarcastic joke. Damn Balers, keep up. Sarcofago are notorious for awkward translation lyrics.
