  1. Are you a Penguins fan by any chance? I kinda pospone my welcome until i hear the answer.
  2. Got my headphones.. Life is good again.. Forest of shadows - Sleeping death
  3. Listening to... my kid playing Minecraft on my pc and not shutting up for one second. Need to go get headphones soon i think.. ugh..
  4. Since the topic asks a question, Here are couple that i enjoy personally.
  5. My sister died of cancer few years ago, she turned only 27 just before. I worked for few months as a hired assistant to her allowing some more time living home instead of a facility. She had 2 small children too. My father died only couple months before my sister (being a heavy drinker it was sudden and came surprisingly early). Everyone has to deal with death, yet it is a concept that everyone sort of has to figure out on their own. The most important thing to remember is that it gets better. I can understand envying the dead. They have no more worries..
  6. I´m not a native english speaker, so it adds a bit of a challenge in getting the point across i suppose. At least Requiem understood me the first time.
  7. It's an easy album to love for me. When it was released the "oh yes they are on the right track again!" factor was so huge for me, ended up listening the crap out of the album and it is indeed one i cherish forever in my heart.
  8. Whaat? I absolutely love Icon! I think you misread my post somewhat. I really love everything up to Draconian times, after that the albums that i´ve enjoyed and listened most have been "tame self-titled comeback" and The plague within. I just noticed a funny trend that theres a 10 year gap between the 3 last albums i´ve listened to most. I guess i must be insane then.
  9. You can´t like what you don´t like, no shame in that.. also i would like to hear why it´s the next level of nonsense, and not just regular nonsense? I am currently giving the 3 albums (yet) another go.. EDIT:You gotta understand, that PL is one of the biggest bands of all time for me, it has been a huge favourite for over 20 years. So there propably aren´t many people who have listened to their albums more, over and over again. That means i have also a high preception to really like everything they do. And when i don´t, it means i REALLY don´t. Can´t force it. It´s a band that has something for almost everyone to enjoy, and i keep listening to the albums i love, like i have for ages anyway.
  10. Thats the thing.. theres maybe 1 song in each of those albums that i really like, and i just never really got into them. I don´t know why really. They just do not click with me..
  11. Seems to me they make a great album every ten years now, so looking forward to 2025! Draconian times 1995, Paradise lost 2005, The plague within 2015.. Basically everything between those has been more or less bad or just "bland and boring"..
  12. I demand details! What amp and guitar? What sort of tone were you looking for? etc.
  13. No problemos. I have an annoying addiction to problem solving, and the tough translation counts as one i suppose.
  14. Here goes! Trust me makes just about as much sense in finnish. Recollection of a hoof Severed limb feels from far way a hoove where a recollection rests it there Your severed arm won´t cut wheat anymore Cuts the man silently inside the mind Old wounds open But there isn´t a drop of blood Severed limb feels from far away Death waiting behind the corner The mowers hand no longer cur the grain Laughing at their work (this uses a word thats like crows laughing) Old corpses lapse But death isn´t coming The words that were repeated Took a tested humanity behind these faces To the soil behind the churches collapsed fence And it won´t return from there to the front of these eyes Foreign words, familiar oaths Satans hoof feet Puts the seal in the path i walk Dead to the world i try to (it´s either remember or understand) our name Severed limb feels from far away (recollection of a hoof) When the mowed man recollects the (now, this word i do not know.. might be a typo in the lyrics online and could be "Lauma" which is Horde) (Stalks in the corner of the eye) I almost remember dying (escapes from the attentive stare) It´s crazy to think you were alive then (Like your names echo in the wind) Old memories (this could be either "come back" or something else) All other pain is left behind (A rotting man don´t need flowers from relatives, but wheat is fine for a family grave) The words that were repeated Took a tested humanity behind these faces To the soil behind the churches collapsed fence And it won´t return from there to the front of these eyes The names that were written with butterflys blood And married off to blue flame to be safe from clay-people (Wtf.. it´s like.. what? ) From the dishes of spirit travelling to (Hell, basically) Foreign words, familiar oaths Puts the seal in the path i walk Our living name is praised by fallus (another wtf moment, well.. most of this was )
  15. "Memory of a hoof" (meaning the hoof being a thing that is remembered, not the hoof having a memory.. allthough theres a line saying that too in the lyrics...) Theres something in the lyrics about a severed limb, and a lot about a dead man.. it´s.. tough to get handle on even when it´s in my native languange..
  16. It would be extremely hard to translate it, so that it makes any sense or even resembles the original lyrics. Finnish can be a really tough languange to deal with. I´ll have another look later but it´s likely i´ll get nowhere with it.
  17. I can do that later, since it´s in my native languange. EDIT:Had a quick look.. would be super difficult to translate and would take a long time, so might not be up for the task actually. Theres so damn much of wordplay thats nearly impossible to translate properly.
  18. Turns out that Youtube is the bad egg here. Apparently the artists themselves aren´t really getting much of it at all, comparing ie. to Spotify. It´s a battle thats been going on for quite a while between artists (well, record labels) and youtube.
  19. Finnish copyright organisation Teosto is negotiating with youtube and therefore a huge chunk of music is blocked in my country. Talk about an annoyance! Teosto is an organisation supposedly there to support the artists, but in Finland we have payed forever ie. when buying empty cd´s or tapes etc. because "It´s possible to burn/copy music to them". It´s like being fined because you might commit a crime! Supposedly we get them unblocked on friday, but it is rather worrying turn of events anyhow. Did you mean this one? it´s great.
  20. This changes daily.. just going by what i´ve been listening to today.. Forest of shadows Shape of despair Marduk (Still enjoying Frontschwein a lot..) Alien fucker (For when i need a break from stuff and want a smirk on my face.) Hypocrisy (the older the better)
  21. Interesting choice of emotions. considering hate is an active emotion, and despair is a passive one. They sort of exclude eachother.. sort of. For more satisfactory pairing, i would have gone for Pain & Despair, or maybe Hate & Anger. I of course acknowledge that i am quite possibly the only person, who ever even gets that thought in their head. (Yes i am anal about psychology, don´t judge me!) And because it´s psychologically more satisfactory for the recipient, i like to end with a positive note. I really enjoyed the song and i´m looking forward for more. (ps. i´m really not an intolerable idiot, trust me. )
  22. If you are ever able to add a drummer, that would raise this to a whole new level. These songs scream for acoustic drums and a drummer! Programming overly complicated drums is a sin i often see (well, hear) and no matter what you do.. programmed drums just lack the soul (It´s a thing i struggle with constantly, annoying as hell and one of the biggest things in the way of my creativity currently). There are some nice hooks and riffs in the album, definitely one of the better new things i´ve come across for a while. I would have enjoyed a bit of a breather at some point, but it´s propably a lot to do with the virtual drummer being pumped up on amphetamine. I know there are couple at the end, and propably would break the momentum of the album to put them somewhere else. But then again, i´m not trve kvlt so what do i even know? If this is the your debut, it´s a damn strong on at that. I´ll be looking forward what you come up with in the future, and i will be revisiting this one a few times for sure.
  23. Yeah thanks was a good read. sort of interested now actually.
  24. I think i´ll do "Opeth album a week" challenge for me. I have a friend who is big on Opeth, just sort of skipped my radar, only so much one guy can listen to.
  25. For some odd reason ended up listening Opeth, and Blackwater park album to be more specific. Quite good actually, i´ve never been huge on Opeth, might have to go through their discography now.
