Hello, Iβm Luna! Im just your average desert dwelling, metal loving, horror addicted, beer swilling, no fucks giving, barely human lost soul. I donβt know how I found my way onto this forum, but here I am. The band Iβm listening to at the moment is Wayfarer, the album American Gothic. Itβs pretty fuckin cool! I donβt know what else to say, so yeaβ¦ bye π4 points -

Good choice. 1st album I heard by them. Hooked me onto the band. I met Gene Hoglan a few years ago at a drum clinic and asked him about what it was like recording that album. From what I remember he said he flew to Norway and when he got there the drum set they had for him was such shit quality so he had to make a bunch of adjustments and get them to buy some extra pieces/equipment. Fav song Demoniacal Possession2 points -
One of my favourite riffs to play, sounds even heavier in C# tuning π€2 points

Luna is apparently the most common named given to cats. I know, because I share one with my wife. Welcome Luna, the (barely) human. American Gothic is pretty darned good.2 points

NP: Ascalapha - Somber Vampyric Night βΆοΈ Somber Vampyric Night | Ascalapha | ATMF (bandcamp.com) In the same sort of spirit as UDΓ D from this earlier this year, this one shoots straight with little to no ceremony to stand on. These aren't long labyrinthian structures that end in a completely different place than they started, and the shorter song run times reflect this. It's digestible and decidedly mid paced, but I think it's doing exactly what it wants to do and finding remarkable success inside of its self imposed strictures to boot.1 point -

NP: Swampbeast - Offering of Chaos, Lamenting in the Blood of Man https://swampbeasttl.bandcamp.com/album/offering-of-chaos-lamenting-in-the-blood-of-man I like this. It has that really nice Scandinavian style of thump in the guitars you'd want from the simpler styles of death metal along with the chaotic mess from the higher end. Switch ups in the rhythms are frequent, but not jarring. Closest comparisons I can make are Grave or Carnage.1 point -

Always been a fan of this one! Sure, the production is far from polished, but they dispensed with the radio-friendly hard rock of the previous two albums and made a concerted effort to get back to heavy, aggressive metal again. There aren't any guitar solos, but the songwriting is really solid. I'll be playing this one tomorrow thanks to your post!1 point

Yes, I certainly hope not, too! I feel like I've been hearing about a new Dark Angel album forever. Probably how a lot of fans feel about the possibility of a new King Diamond album having been hung over their heads for several years now.1 point

Be awesome if someone turned this into a horror film, my friend Greg had the cover as a chest tat Great Gilmore's Roadhouse was a bar in Etobicoke with live entertainment every night, one side for blues bands the other for rock and metal there was doors inside separating the venues, other than the Gasworks, Larrys Hideaway and Rock n Roll Heaven that was the place to play and see live acts in the 80's. Wish I had a time machine1 point

I think we'll have a successor to Omega Wave soon. Craig Lociciero didn't reform Forbidden with a new (and talented) singer + Kris Kontos on drums, just for the live shows.1 point

A truly fantastic album! "Omega Wave" is great as well. It's a shame these guys didn't put out more albums over the years. HammerFall - "Glory to the Brave" Krokus - "Hoodoo" Betzefer - "The Devil Went Down to the Holy Land" Betzefer - "Entertain Your Force of Habit" Superb groove metal by this Israeli band - the ones who have come the closest to the PanterA sound that I've heard, which automatically puts them into the stratosphere for me!1 point

Warrior - Hate Maelstrom Much like the first album, it's decent enough, but still doesnt quite hit the spot. There also seems to be some kind of weird echo effect on the vocals that I don't care for https://grindtodeathrecords.bandcamp.com/album/hate-maelstrom1 point -
