  1. Of Doomed Morale "Arcas & Callisto"
  2. Of Doomed Morale "Arcas & Callisto" - big droney, fuzzy, grainy and down right awkward doom metal. Bellowing and raw vocals that take the whole experience to a further place altogether. Wasn't sure if I was gonna like it at first but it's turning out to be a real treat!
  3. Conan "Mount Wraith:Live at Roadburn 2013" Morbid Angel "Blessed Are The Sick" Cult Of Occult "Hic Est Domus Diaboli"
  4. Conan "Mount Wraith:Live at Roadburn 2013"
  5. Morbid Angel "Altars Of Madness" In addition to my comments in the "New Acquisitions.." thread I will add that "Maze Of Torment" makes my all time top ten DM tracks.
  6. I don't actually own a full Death album. I have heard enough via Youtube to make me want to explore more but never seem to get round to it. Morbid Angel were one of the first death metal bands to really grab me, I remember as a kid I had a poster of them on my wall and I was transfixed with how dark and menacing I thought they looked. A few days later I bought "Blessed Are The Sick" and loved every minute of it. Didn't actually hear "Altars..." until over a decade later and although (as BAN alludes to) it is a dark affair I am drawn more to "Blessed.." prob from more of a place in time point of view. The sonics of Azagthoth are a big selling point for me across both records though. I hold "Blessed..." up there with the likes of "Slowly We Rot" as one of my all time favourite DM albums.
  7. Morbid Angel "Blessed Are The Sick"
  8. Drudkh are still quite new to me but the 3 albums I have picked up so far have all been consistent efforts. Their blend of folk and BM is effortless and has a real sense of flow and necessary order, yet somehow there's a real sense of a journey through each of their albums. Be it their soaring melodies or their ploddy rhythms I always get the feeling of movement and progression through each track.
  9. Impetuous Ritual "Unholy Congregation Of Hypocritical Ambivalence"
  10. Also: Cult of Occult - s/t and "Hic Est Domus Diaboli" - really heavy death/doom with big slant on the doom side of the slash. Great stuff.
  11. Massacre "From Beyond" Serpentine Path - s/t 7" Drudkh "The Swan Road"
  12. My friends Dad died yesterday. Predictably my friend is a mess so going to have to keep an eye on him for a few days.
  13. I don't think anybody requested the song, some guy in the crowd shouted "Lars is a wanker" - Lars misheard and played St Anger instead.
  14. Not quite a "first 10 songs" more of a "last 10 songs" list. Thought of some random great final album tracks (live tracks excluded) and put a playlist together: Metallica "Dyers Eve" - And Justice For All Slayer "Hardening of the Arteries" - Hell Awaits Kreator "Awakening of the Gods" - Pleasure To Kill Nile "Von Unaussprechlichen Kulten" - Annihilation of the Wicked Cannibal Corpse "Beyond The Cemetry" - Tomb Of The Mutliated Guns N Roses "Rocket Queen" - Appetite For Destruction Judas Priest "Monsters Of Rock" - Ram It Down Enslaved "Lightening" - Axioma Ethica Odini Immortal "Blashyrkh (Mighty Ravendark) - Battles In The North Deep Purple "Black Knight" - In Rock
  15. Massacre "From Beyond" Had a few blasts of a couple of tracks from the old shuffle on the pod this week so going for the full experience tonight. Been a while since I played this in full.
