So many albums to pick from this week - been working from home most of the time with music all the time. The close calls where Swans "The Seer" (need more time with this though even though I already recognise it's brilliance), Wombbath "Internal Caustic Torments", Lich King "World Gone Dead" or even Judas Priest "Sin After Sin". In the end have gone for: Overkill "White Devil Armory" Exodus "Bonded By Blood" Dark Angel "Darkness Descends" No Cheap Trick this week - ya bastards!

I have the obvious ones that I always go back to like "Rising" by Rainbow or "Bergtatt" by Ulver but I have some less obvious choices too come to think of it. "Empire" by Queeensryche get a play at least once a week (one of the few albums both the gf and myself like), I always end up coming back to "Diamond Eyes" by Deftones as well as "Kind Of Blue" by Miles Davis. On a thrash revival at present so "Bonded By Blood" and "Darkness Descends" by Exodus and Dark Angel respectively are getting some hammer after i picked them up on cd this week.

Dislocated my thumb on Friday night by taking my socks off. Managed to put it back myself but it has hurt like a bitch all weekend. A family member is in hospice at present and the family got a phone call this morning to go and be with her. Not a massive part of my life but she looked after me as a kid and was always good to me. On the other side of the fence I read my alcoholic uncle's psychiatric evaluation today and the long and short of it is unless he ditches the booze he has no chance. One family losing her life through no fault of her own whilst another wastes his. Criminal!

Overkill "White Devil Armory" - seriously I have never owned an Overkill album until this one because I have never gotten on with the vox but this kicks serious butt, the guitar sound is so crunchy! Blut Aus Nord "777 - The Desanctification" Summoning "Stronghold"

Overkill "White Devil Armory" - this is fucking brilliant, I normally don't get on too well with the vox on Overkill but they sit perfectly with the sound on this record! Absolute barnstormer of a record, dripping with energy and 'tude!
