  1. Opeth "Watershed" - even worse than I remember. Sounds like a cross between a easy listening, mature pop-rock album and some quirky Eurovision Song Contest entry. Directionless and blatant spunking off from Akerfeldt and co.
  2. Protector 101 "Neoncholy" - shit name for an album but have been on a retro-electro kick this past week or so after downloading Aphasia Records "Futura Comp". Protector 101 was on that and I listened to some split stuff done with Perturbator who is one of my favourite artists in this synth/darkwave style. A couple of Protector 101 albums were on "Pay what you want" deals on Bandcamp so I ventured in. If I am impressed enough will go back and pay to re-download.
  3. I am probably going to skip to Pale Communion - it can't be worse than Heritage!
  4. Check out Autumn Aurora and Blood In Our Wells by Drudkh, Midi. Great band.
  5. Opeth "Morningrise" Having an Opeth day today (if I can stick it out at least) as I have had a few of their songs buzzing around my head of late and therefore am predicting I am in need of a fix. Trying to go in release order and will have to use YouTube for some as don't have the full discog yet.
  6. Been out to see my mum and dad this afty who are cat sitting at a friend's flat. It is a gorgeous flat full of Victorian architecture and features. Once again I am bitten by the moving bug, and am now seriously considering looking at flats a opposed to just houses.
  7. Cara Neir "Portals To A Better, Dead World"
  8. Dominion Of Darkness in my pants.
  9. There's a box set of Saxon CDs knocking about in the record shop in town where I frequent that is catching my eye. I find Saxon go really well with a few cold beers in the summer evenings!
  10. The supermarket is pissing me off - the same ales are stocked for months on end at a time now and as a result I am getting bored with them. Even visiting different stores offers little variety. Of late I have been drinking Krombacher Dark, Samuel Adams Boston Lager and Shipyard Export since nothing else is taking my fancy. When I start travelling later this month with work I am going to be sampling many different local/traditional ales when I inevitably eat my evening meal in a pub!
  11. "Rocks", "Draw The Line" and "Toys In The Attic" are all great albums in their own right. Aerosmith get judged for fucking "Just Push Play", "Permanent Vacation" and "Get A Grip" which are all pop music! P.s on the subject of Rush some knobber on another forum I frequent set up a "vs" thread for Rush against Blue Oyster Cult. Rush are untouchable by comparison to B.O.C
  12. I liked the Lich King album - thought it was nothing particularly new but was well done with some great riffs.
