Agreed, If there are a ''Happy'' song on an album I like Its usually the song i like the least. But mostly happy music get on my nerves. Iron Maiden have that, that happy sound that makes me play something else.

Opthalamia definitely deservs more credit. Both those albums have really interesting melodies and a really dark atmosphere. I prefer Journey in Darkness because of Jon's vocals. He have that harsh, evil sound but is still very clear and easy to understand. Otherwise both albums are really good and i use to listen to them as entire albums. Cant really just pick out a song or two from them as i use to do with others sometimes.

Im not really sure what to count as either Heavy or Traditional Metal, As some of you already discussed with me Im not a big fan of labeling everything, or discuss what belongs where. But the 10(11) bands Ive spent most time listening to which might go under this would be: Mercyful Fate / King Diamond Judas Priest In Solitude Dio Accept Saxon Motörhead Running Wild RAM W.A.S.P

To be honest i havent really listened to anything from them since M16, just what i have heard live. Was the two latest albums any good?

I havent really explored Thrash to that extent. Exactly , its not the clothes im really talking about, its something else. Yes now when you mentioned it thats more or less the same issue Euronymous had with band as Entombed or Therion. I just prefer Thrash with a darker approach and as harsh vocals as possible. So until i dive deeper into this i say German.

German, for to me there are more things to consider than just the music and vocals. Say what you want but i want the whole package to have the same attitude. Shorts and t-shirt is not metal... At least not in my eyes, And i might be really wrong here but i somehow relate that outfit to US thrash, and death for that reason too. This might be really ignorant of me but im fine with it if thats so.

I prefer Kreator because they are so intense live

Sodom, yeah i should add Sodoms Agent orange to mi list. I agree they arent as powerful as Kreator but still better than any band from the Bay area scene.

Ride the Lightning was my favorite album as a 10 year old, And still is a really nice piece of metal. Other than that Megadeth have more good albums, So they would get my vote.
