  1. Re: The Meaning of Life very interesting conversation, I think we all have certain things in our lives which prevent us from chasing the biggest of our dreams, for some it may be financial concerns, others it may be a matter of location and for some its family related. On the other hand there are some who will chase their dreams regardless of theze factors, some are lucky enough to catch them, for others it seems no matter how hard they try the dream stays just out of reach my dream is to one day be a successful lawyer so I can help fight some of the injustices of the world, but at the moment it seems that every time I think I'm getting close the dream pulls away again, which leads me to what I believe to be the meaning of life: to never give up on your dreams because they are never as distant as they seem
  2. Re: Death I'm convinced that death isn't the end of existance, but I don't believe that there is a "heaven" or a "hell" either. exactly what does happen after death is anybodies guess I suppose, I just want to be able to look back on my life, smile, and think to myself yeah I did it, I achieved all I wanted to with my life...and had a lot of fun doing it
  3. Re: Your Lyrics something I'm working on at the moment, but I keep on getting stuck at coming up with a chorus what if there is no god would you waste your f'cking life trying to be his last disciple? lead the life of a slave who prays he'll be saved when there is no f'cking heaven its a compulsory hypocrisy, you can't practice what you preach the only great truth is your god's a lie and you'll live preparing to die and I'll apologise in advance if i offend anybody I just write what I feel
  4. Re: Iron Maiden Artwork my three fave Maiden covers are Fear Of The Dark, Piece Of Mind and Somewhere In Time, the worst are seventh son of a seventh son and everything after Fear Of The Dark, Maiden has the best band logo as well
  5. Re: Metal Vs. . . . . . everything else I love metal, but its not all I listen to, there's alot to be said for blues, flamenco and classical music, check this out for example
  6. Re: What Are You Listening To? Ace of Spades by Motorhead
  7. Re: Rate the song above you! ha yeah that was pretty cheesy, but thats half the fun of power metal 8.5/10 pretty sure Dio weren't power metal but Ronnie's voice was always powerful so enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYlDltwm-JY
  8. Re: Live Albums I don't mind live albums, I've got a few of them, and the best live album I have ever heard is Dio's Holy Diver Live, Ronnie did everything better live, how I wish I could have seen him in person
  9. Re: DragonForce nah mate the problem with dragonforce is they THINK they can play their instruments well, no wait don't they pretty much synth everything? honestly I'd almost rather listen to justin bieber,
  10. Re: Who are your current top 5 bands? 1. Megadeth 2. Yngwie Malmsteen 3. Iron Maiden 4. Slayer 5. Dio
  11. Re: Rate the song above you! that was pretty cool man I'll give it 9/10 this one is also a bit slow for about a minute and a half
  12. ok so I figure by now something like this has already been started but whatever rules are simple, just say what you think the BEST thrash album out there is and why I'll get us rolling Megadeth's Rust In Peace, it's probably the best album Megadeth has made, they mix the complex, technical side of music and the in your face heaviness you expect from a thrash album and it is one of the more diverse albums in terms of lyrical content that Megadeth has done. plus some 20 years after it was released the lyrics on tracks like Holy Wars and Rust In Peace are still relevant
  13. The thread for all Power Metal recommendations on Metal Forum.
  14. Re: Rate the song above you! that was pretty damn good, 9/10, vocals reminded me of Rob Halford for some reason this one starts out a little slow
  15. Re: best metal guitarist (your opinion) fair enough, seems you've dismissed just about every guitarist i've mentioned, I'm gonna throw three more names out and then I think I'm done here since it looks like this thread is almost totally inactive K.K. Downing Joe Satriani Tom Morello
  16. Re: Rate the song above you! really liked that, 10/10 lets keep the power metal going here
  17. Re: Rate the song above you! hated it, 3/10 here's a little Ozzy for ya http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7iTiVXNnD8
  18. Re: Rate the song above you! that was haunting man, 8/10 one of the few times i've put up something that isn't just clean vocals sorry its a live track though
  19. Re: Slayer love it, love the DVD, love the band, love all their albums, and I really love seeing peoples reactions when I wear my Slayer tee around uni...SLAYER!!!
  20. Re: Megadeth really not much going on here is there, Th1rt3en isn't quite what I was hoping it would be, a shame really I mean its good but I was expecting great and it's just not there, I think Endgame was much better
  21. Re: Rate the song above you! dude your Hammerfall song rocked, I did say I didn't really know them so I'll have to find more of their good stuff a metal anthem if I ever heard one
  22. Re: Rate the song above you! that was pretty damn good, I'll give it 8.5/10 staying with the power metal theme (i think) have to say I really don't know this band I just saw the vid on Headbangers Ball
  23. Re: Rate the song above you! finally some clean vocals, and they were pretty good too, 8/10 and i'll be checking out more of their stuff as well so far as i know there actually isn't a video for this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcjNakmxRXQ
  24. Re: Rate the song above you! hate the vocals, couldn't even get through that one, 3/10 don't think anyone has posted any Maiden tracks yet so enjoy
  25. Re: best metal guitarist (your opinion) ok here's another guy that gets a lot of praise, Cliff Burton, over-rated or not? and for a guitarist that often gets put in the god-like bracket how about Steve Vai? I think they're both great, and sorry for get a little personal earlier dude I tend to lose it a bit when people badmouth Pantera coz they were the band that first got me into metal
