I'm glad you like it. A lot of work went into that and while it's not traditionally as varied as the EP I feel it's very experimental for what it is. We're continuing that vibe btw. Most people, mostly from doomantia.com, seem to prefer the EP to the album given the variety but you are right it was more like a collection/comp of material. If I had, had more money I'd probably have put a fourth song on there. As it stands I did alter the last song quite a bit, tempo-wise, to make it fit the doom mold (originally it was much faster).
You'll be pleasantly surprised when you hear ban's vocals. He's very good and incredibly powerful. He's sung without a mic on several occasion and I've heard him perfectly when playing a pretty high volumes. He doesn't go as low as Rick but he does have a better all around range than Rick. Had things turned out differently they'd have sung in tandem in Denver last year. Had things gone another way entirely Rick would still be with us and both would be singing.
I can't wait for our next release. The questions that now remain are if it will be a single and/or split (possibly with Avernus) and if we'll be able to release it this year. I've set some goals for us that look like they're not going to be met. Hooray lack of equipment.
However, the Black Harvest material is great. I like the 2013 material the best so far. I get what you were going for when you said immediacy. It's very smooth and considering there was no drummer it's even more awesome. Sadly, restless oblivion isn't old enough to appreciate this type of music.
