    lamb of god

Re: lamb of god I hope that didn't come off as an attack because that's not what I meant. I was thinking out loud, lol. I'm not sure when people started using that phrase but its rapidly taken over the original term. Perhaps it was more of a colloquialism to my area than I had realized. Pantera, Biohazard and several others...oi

    New here

Re: New here Actually my band is planning on filming our next gig for just that very reason. That and our drummer can never be seen when playing live and he wants something to prove that he does exist for the sake of posterity. If everything goes as planned the first or second weekend of September we should have something up.

    lamb of god

Re: lamb of god I've never understood the "groove" tag. We just called funk metal. That is the genera of music where "groove" comes from anyway.
  4. Re: Iced Earth Way overrated and fairly bland live. I saw them on the 'Glorious Burden' tour with Ripper (he was the reason I went) and he alone made the show bearable. Ralph Santola was pretty badass too however. I have all their releases up to and including 'The Dark Saga' but they just kept putting the same thing out after that thus why I stopped listening to them. That and Barlow is awful. He constant grunts and yips after EVER sentence/word sung/shouted gets old really fast.
  5. Re: Not heard much of this The kidneythieves aren't Metal, not by a long shot. They're amusing but not Metal. Rammstein is a good example in this style but very mainstream. Godflesh arguably invented said style with Pitch Shifter cloning what they did on their first two releases. Skrew was a great Industrial Metal band from the states as is/was ...and Oceans. Ministry is another example of this style as well, although they are WAY to political for my tastes.

    Elvenking

Re: Elvenking I've yet to met a person who actually likes that bands vocals, regardless of which singer they were listening too. I had all their releases but I'm thinking of loosing them to the local record shop because after their second album they started sucking hard.

    bands?

Re: bands? The first two Elvenking albums are great (avoid the rest however). Vintersorg is killer as well as the first few Borknagar releases. Skyclad, Korpiklaani & Rivendell are excellent. Some would/could argue Finntroll fits the bill as well.

    lamb of god

Re: lamb of god Just sound like core to me.
  9. Re: Morbid Angel Morbid Angel has been putting the same thing out since their third album (which was awful IMO). Their last two are no different, just MA going through the motions. Their first two, forth and sixth albums were pretty good however.

    Death

Re: Death Scream Bloody Gore is the only Death album I can't into. I think they are a bit overrated but everything they did after their debut was excellent.

    Candlemass

Re: Candlemass Their first album is pretty weak compared to what came after. Nightfall & Ancient Dreams are two of the best Traditional Doom albums out there IMO. They stagnated for a bit afterwards until Messiah came back. Rob's addition and subsequent material are also top notch.
