  1. Re: Cover Art of the Album You're Currently Listening to Just finished this album. Seriously the most addicting stuff I've listened to in a long, long time. Now this one. A fun EP and a nice blend of classical influence and technical death metal.
  2. Re: Like Metal Forum on Facebook! I'd give it a like if I still had a Facebook. Got sick of it after a while.
  3. Re: Modern melodeath That's off their third album.
  4. Re: Claim Your FREE Metal Forum T-Shirt! Suppose I'll post here now. Why do I love metal? Let's make this as cliché as possible just for fun. Been around it my whole life, was raised with it, couldn't live without it, blah blah blah. I don't know how to not love metal. It's in my blood. Peace, TMA
  5. Re: SEPULTURA First four albums are good.
  6. Re: Modern melodeath ^ Solution .45 is much better than the two Scar Symmetry albums without Christian. Dark Matter Dimensions is downright boring with a bit too much -core influence. The Unseen Empire is better, but not up to snuff.
  7. Re: What Are You Listening To? Wolf - "Children of the Black Flame"
  8. Re: Ohai This whole forum is a big playground, trust me.
  9. Re: Ohai Well, I think there are a couple of teenagers roaming around on here.
  10. Re: Ohai Depends on the context: is it in age, mindset, or maturity level?
  11. Re: Ohai Welcome. There are quite a few younger members here, so you won't feel alone.
  12. Re: Van Canto I suppose I like some stuff, but to be honest, they come off as somewhat of a gimmick.
  13. Re: Pantera ! More than cinco words here. I apologize. Everything after Cowboys from Hell is trash. Power Metal is their magnum opus.
  14. Re: Ensiferum Decent band. Consistent sound. Yep.
  15. Re: Heavy Metal Bands Come on, provoke me some more. Countless bands fit into the category. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Tokyo Blade, Armour, Steel Assassin, Bruce Dickinson... You can go on with this forever and ever. And just to be clear, most NWoBHM bands fit into the heavy/traditional metal category. NWoBHM wasn't a clear cut metal genre, but rather a movement that included heavy metal and hard rock. In addition to that, new bands like Skull Fist, Christian Mistress, Cauldron, White Wizzard, etc. have popped and are leading the pack with a large-scale heavy metal revival. Pure heavy metal has been way underground for a number of years, but it's just now making a comeback. It's fantastic because regular heavy metal is one of my all-time favorites.
  16. Re: Metal Vs. . . . . . everything else There was one point my life where almost everything I listened to was metal and hard rock. Now I can't do that. My tastes are too eclectic and there's way too much good music out there to be close-minded. So, metal + everything else = win. It isn't better or worse.
  17. Re: Cover Art of the Album You're Currently Listening to @khaos: That album rocks. It's also the only Sabaton album I own. ----- Musical genius, one of the all time greats. A big influence on me.
  18. Re: What Are You Listening To? Wonderful. I've been chillin' all day and listening to music. Laugh all you want, but I'm listening to some pop from South Korea right now. Can't get it out of my head. Love this group. ???? – "Oh!"
  19. Re: Greetings ^ Well whatdaya know... I've been following your band on Twitter.
  20. Re: Section Suggestion No need to scold us. I've wanted a debate on this forum and I finally got it. That being said, to avoid confusion, there only needs to be death metal and melodic death metal. All variations within each subgenre would be included under both umbrellas. Death metal would include: death metal in its purest form, technical death metal, brutal death metal, slam death, etc, whatever. Melodic death metal would include: Gothenburg-oriented styles, symphonic, poppy crap, etc. That's simple, and it keeps death and melodic death metal apart because they are distinctly different.
  21. Re: Section Suggestion The thing is though... it isn't the same subgenre. A good chunk of melodic death metal draws influence from all over the place, for example, power metal. Death metal draws a good portion of influence from thrash. They're not the same, and most places classify them separately. You're entitled to your opinion, but I feel the site would be much cleaner with a section devoted to it.
  22. Re: Section Suggestion I disagree with that. Most melodic death metal doesn't sound anything like conventional death metal. Totally different subgeneres of metal. Melodic black metal is akin to black metal. Cryptopsy sounding like Scar Symmetry? No. Morbid Angel sounding like Insomnium? No. Hour of Penance sounding like Narsilion? No. God Dethroned sounding like Amon Amarth? No. That's my drift.
  23. Hey metal overlords! Consider shoehorning a melodic death metal section in! The melodic death metal threads are a bit odd in the death metal section. Peace, TMA
