Very chaotic and savage death metal in the vein of Ascended Dead. Very very good stuff here. This just instantly became my most anticipated release of the rest of this year. Album releases Nov 26.

Darkthrone - Eternal Hails I'm trying really hard to like this album but it's just not doing much for me. Darkthrone are not at their best when they're slow and plodding all the time.

Häxanu - Snare of All Salvation Cénotaphe - Monte Verità

The most brazen example of this that I've seen in recent years was when AMG reviewed the latest Spirit Adrift album and the main songwriter/guitarist/vocalist appeared in the comments to voice his displeasure with the review. He preceded to get into it with the writer of the review, other AMG staff and regular commenters, and just generally digging himself deeper and deeper into a hole with each response. He was quite confrontational and clearly very upset lol. The real kicker here is..... it wasn't even a negative review. They gave the album a 3/5, ya know... a "good but not great" type of score. And he lost his shit over that. I'd hate to see his response to an actual negative review haha.

Watain - Casus Luciferi It occurred to me recently that I haven't listened to this album or this band in so long that I had pretty much completely forgotten what they even sounds like. It's less "norsecore"-ish than I remember, lol.

Most contemporary OSDM is about as exciting as watching paint dry. But this Funeral Chant track rips!! Raw, nasty death metal with a blackened tinge. Very promising stuff. Album releases Nov 1.

Track from the upcoming debut from The Temple. Featuring members of Ulcerate but WAY less techy and avant-garde. This is straight forward Black/Death and it sounds VERY promising. Releases Nov 19.

Alright, here's a few of mine... Immortal - Battles In the North Great album, one of Immortal's best, imo, but that cover is just plain stupid. If this was a simple black and white cover like the classic Darkthrone covers it wouldn't be nearly as bad, but that plain white background is terrible. Monstrosity - Millennium Musically, one of the better examples of technical death metal done well. That cover though..... not so much. Every time I look at it I'm baffled as to what I'm actually looking at. The artist who rendered it probably didn't know either lol. Dawn - Slaughtersun One of the best black metal albums ever, but I can't stand the cover. Just simply not a cool image, doesn't suit the music either. Visually there's too much orange and yellow and it honestly hurts my eyes haha. They could've done a lot better here.
