  1. None - Damp Chill of Life Pan-Amerikan Native Front - Little Turtle's War
  2. For real. I've had at least 3 laptops crash on me and in each time my music library was perfectly safe and backed up on an external hard drive. I usually have two on the go, just in the event that one of them gets dropped and brakes or something. I have an old that doesn't get used anymore and I'm pretty sure I've got music on there that I probably downloaded around 2006 or so. If you're diligent with backing up your files, a digital music library can last you a lifetime.
  3. Canadian here. You're sister isn't wrong, per se, but there's a boatload of context being left out here. Canada's heath care isn't exactly the same nationwide and can vary greatly province to province, even hospital to hospital. You're sister's in Toronto? I'm not surprised to hear she's had negative experiences there, but that isn't necessarily indictive of health care Canada-wide. I personally have never had any experiences that resemble what you've described, I've never seen a specialist that wasn't a real doctor and I've never had an overly long wait for a surgery or an appointment. Truth is, If you were to ask 100 different Canadians about health care in Canada you'd probably get 100 different answers.
  4. New Archspire album?? I'll pass... "sTaY tEcHh"
  5. Forsmán - Dönsum Í Logans Ljóma Mannveira - Vitahríngur
  6. Old school Sundays... Sarcofago - I.N.R.I Varathron - His Majesty at The Swamp Master's Hammer - Ritual
  7. 1914 - Where Fear and Weapons Meet (2021) Hmmm.... this one isn't blowing me away so far.
  8. Worm - Foreverglade (2021) Yup, this is good. This is very very good. The hype is real.
  9. Tvær - Uvær This album is fantastic but seriously, enough with the "æ" nonsense.
  10. What's your opinion on this one so far? I've been seeing a fuck ton of hype for this album.
  11. Despondent Moon - Enshrouded In Eternal Moonlight Hulder - Godslastering: Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry
  12. Mork - Katedralen Rübezahl - Remnants of Grief & Glory
  13. Macabre Omen should be right up your alley if you like these guys. Their album "Gods of War - At War" is very good.
  14. I mean.... Spotify, Apple Music and the like are only a part of the problem here. The biggest issue with streaming services is that they operate in conjunction with the age old music business model of record labels owning the rights to all the artist's work. Large record labels aren't getting mad at streaming, they're one of the beneficiaries. If every artist owned the rights to their songs there'd probably be a lot less enmity towards streaming services.
  15. Panopticon - ...And Again Into the Light Black Curse - Endless Wound
  16. Lol, okay well it's clear as day that you've never once bothered to actually read any lyrics from any of the "CaScAdIaN" bands because the vast majority of them aren't even remotely political at all, this includes the biggest and most renowned bands from the scene like WITTR and Panopticon. There's a reason they're commonly referred as "nature worshipping" or "trees and shit" black metal because their lyrical content primarily relates to nature, mysticism and pagan stuff. You'd know that If you actually bothered to look them up. If you're really so perturbed by that and don't wanna listen to it, that's fine, I don't care for it much myself, nor do I care what you listen to, but this big tantrum you're throwing over nonexistent "needing communism" lyrics is a big ol' nothing sandwich.
  17. Wait.... what?? You won't listen to Antifascist black metal because it has "politics" but yet you have no problem listening to outright Nazi bands like Goatmoon and Nokturnal Mortem?? Care to explain this nonsense?
  18. Immortal always did have very strange mixing/production choices for their albums. Like their first four albums, with the exception of Abbath's vocals, all almost sound like completely different bands. The mixing on Battles In The North in particular is straight up fucked. And not even in a low-fi "kvlt" sort of way, like the engineer genuinely had no idea what to do kind of way. I still love the first three Immortal albums though, as haphazard as they are.
  19. Funereal Presence - Achatius Spirit Possession - S/T
  20. I have a Spotify premium account which I use for two simple reasons. The primary and most obvious one being so that I can listen to music when I'm on the go, (driving, walking the dog or playing music while at work). Mp3 players are pretty close to being completely phased out and likely will be a thing of the past pretty soon, and I've always had a pain in the ass of a time loading music from my laptop to my phone, so streaming is definitely the easiest solution to all of this. My other reason for using Spotify is that sometimes there are artists or even whole genres of music where I only like a small handful of songs. I'm not paying money for a Creedence Clearwater Revival greatest hits album if I'm only interested in hearing "Fortunate Son" every once in a while, it simply doesn't make financial sense to do so. All this being said I'm still a staunch buyer of music and bandcamp is my go-to. Another thing to consider is that the purchase of an album, in most circumstances anyways, is a one-time purchase. Spotify streams, however small they may be, are continuous sources of income for artists. Digital album purchases in conjunction with streaming Spotify while on the go is realistically the best way to financially support artists in this day and age. But the "pHySiCaL mEdiA oNLy" boomers sure don't like it when you say that haha.
