Seems like theres so much to do, and so little time. I´m happy though.. the gap between work and my passion projects is getting narrower every day. Heres some of the stuff i am working on atm.

-Got a new website for my company nearly finished.

-Composing and recording music for a w.i.p. game project (I´ll get % of sales), it´s an outback snowmobile simulator.
-I´m negotiating of making a game to learn finnish with, aimed to people with 0 skills of it (immigrants and refugees) and Finnish government is supposed to pay for it.

-I have my own game project. Already built one quiz game, but the subject (quotes) didn´t make a fun enough game.. maybe i use the game with a whole new subject and set of questions, but something else next. (A platform for visual interactive short stories with narration, minor voice acting and audio.. think of an audiobook on steroids. First one is a crime story told from the serial killers point of view.)

-My personal music project. (Darkness is calling.. i have one song recorded with half of the vocals done and some with only basic composition done.. want to do an EP but i guess it ain´t ready until next year)

-Portfolio that i need to extend. (I need to get more stuff out there, so doing some game music just for the portfolio)

-Recording samples for a samplepack. (Something i´m doing for myself to use, and also to give away free to get people visit my website)

-Working on some beats to sell or lease. (I quite enjoy working on this sort of track, and theres a world full of rappers without musical talent who need beats to do their thing on.)

Subcontract work (Delivering papers for the local newspaper company few nights a month, making a decent 30ish € per hour to my company, so quite essential both in helping my new business to stay decently funded to make purchases and pay for costs)
-Need to give a yearly VAT report of sales and purchases to gov this month.

I just stumbled across this drawing from a little over twenty years ago - right before I went to college. Colored pencil and India ink on wood.

 
There was this girl I liked whose parents were regular customers at the restaurant I worked at, and they bought this from me as a gift for her during my "leaving for art school" sale. She was a hell of a piano player.
Nine and a half years after that, she and I got married, and now we can finally hang this up in the new place. I kinda wonder if having the painting and the girl means I owe my in-laws their money back.

If only I had the time and mental energy for that kind of social commentary online.

The ripping Art apart thing just because one dislikes it is boring and old. It also reflects insecurity, to an extent.

To be honest i'm a lazy critic, not to mention i hate ripping albums or songs apart. Music to me is a feeling thing and analyzing it too much sometimes almost ruins the experience for me. I've had it playing while doing cooking and other tasks today, i really really enjoy it, which is as far as i will go with my analysis. ?

Hmm.. not sure i follow you.. you are talking about different types of microphones entirely. I did buy a Rode M1, instead of other option SM58, They are both similar dynamic microphones. I allready have a decent large diaphragm microphone, which Rode NT-1A is.. you are comparing apples and oranges now.

Well.. in the broader sense it´s been going on as long as there was metal.. think thrash vs. glam metal etc.

Just keep practicing, study and try out different playing techniques, look into music theory a bit and learn a new song every now and then. Just keep doing stuff really. You will constantly get better, even if the progress can be at times hard to notice. Looks like you got a good start allready.

In other news, my wife is doing much better and should be out of the hospital soon. I miss her.

I'm excited. Within the past week or so, we've bought a second car and found a bigger apartment in a quieter neighborhood. Lots of work to be done, but things might actually be looking up.

Well now I only have to come up with spending money and money for meals in Japan, everything else is paid for in full including transfers to and from the airport, an English speaking guide, all the tours, cooking class in Kyoto, I can't wait for this trip honestly.
