  1. I noticed this too. It was cool. I got first post on it. I'm the poster of the beast. This can't go on, you must inform the law.
  2. Correct, for a short while there were two versions of Gorgoroth. They went to court over who has the rights to the name: Ghaal and King ov Hell vs Infernus. Ghaal and King ov Hell had their backsides spanked by the judge and adopted the name God Seed.
  3. Some would argue that's a better description of Venom's brand of rock n roll.
  4. Perhaps what's most interesting is that he calls taking a shit a "dunk" which is pretty remarkable.
  5. I've never been entirely comfortable with the idea of a first wave of black metal anyway. They were more like a very loose group of bands that didn't even use the term black metal except for Venom who basically aren't black metal anyway. When people point at Sodom, Slayer, Venom, Celtic Frost etc I'm just not convinced that 'black metal' has any meaning for this group of band's early releases. Obviously they were massive influences of what later became black metal as we know it today, but they're all thrash bands basically. I think the first wave of black metal was just Bathory. Don't throw shade at me over this - I know the metal world has apparently agreed that the first wave is a thing, and I'm going along with it. I'm just saying it's not hugely convincing for me personally.
  6. This depends on what type of 80s viewing nostalgia I'm going for. Both would be fascinating to watch again. I'll go with Knight Rider by a whisker. I actually really want to watch both of these shows, at least a couple of episodes. Would you rather eat M&Ms or Skittles?
  7. It was definitely good that Ozzy ended up leaving Black Sabbath - for both parties. Look at the songwriting and production in 'Heaven and Hell' compared with 'Never Say Die', it's like a completely different band playing completely different music. Then look at 'Blizzard of Ozz' and you have the same thing, totally different style of music to 'Never Say Die'. It's just weird, and I think they all just needed the balls to stop trying to write a 'regular' Sabbath album and spread their wings a bit. Although in relation to Ozzy, having Bob Daisley and Randy Rhoads writing the songs certainly helped... A lot of people are head over heels in love with 'Heaven and Hell', and while I really like it, I just don't feel that passion. I much prefer 'Blizzard of Ozz'.
  8. For me at the moment, Greece has the single best metal scene. Rotting Christ and Septicflesh are probably my two favourite bands at the moment and absolutely at the top of their game, then when you throw in Varathron's latest there's a lot to like about the place. Trees of Eternity - 'Hour of the Nightingale'
  9. Chicken and chips! Yuck!! You're crazy!!!!11one Just joking, of course. I suggest you have chicken and chips a few more times, I think you'd really enjoy it.
  10. My youngest daughter's birthday. It's a sign!! Here's my analysis on what we know of this album so far. Album title sounds ok. I like the words Codex and Omega, and I guess putting them together is cool. The book of the end type of thing. That's cool. The first track 'Dante's Inferno' is pretty good but not changing my life. I need to read the lyrics so that it makes better sense. I'm a huge fan of the Dante's work by the way, so I'm down with this. I'm not 100% happy that they've released the opening track to the public. I would have much preferred they release another song so that the opener is more of a surprise. Just a personal thing. The album cover really isn't doing it for me. It looks amazing of course, but it's just too overboard. I felt this way about Seth's cover for Moonspell's 'Extinct' album as well. it goes too far for what it needs. Overall though I'm super excited about the whole thing and can't wait to get stuck into the album lyrics to orientate the whole project. Paradise Lost releasing the album artwork 6 months before the release date... does that seem a bit early to you? It seems a bit early to me.
  11. Sojourner - 'Empires of Ash' Yet another amazing atmospheric black metal album. What a time to be alive. Or rather, undead.
  12. You might want to give it a day or two. This seems like a pretty quick conclusion to draw when you were hanging out with these guys yesterday!
  13. Here's another great find: Sojourner - 'Empires of Ash'. The youtube channel Atmospheric Black Metal has some absolutely stunning albums in their entirety. I've since purchased the two albums I've listed above and it looks like Sojourner will be joining my august and elite collection. I'm so glad this genre exists. Get on board you dilettantes!
  14. This has the potential to go somewhere I don't think any of us want to see it go... so yeah, fish n chips huh. Good ol fish n chips....
  15. Fish n chips are indeed awesome. Thanks for changing the subject away from Father Alabaster's battered garlic mushroom testicles....
  16. I don't think there's even the trace of sarcasm in our posts about Varg. We both clearly love those vocals. How did you read sarcasm in what we said?
  17. I don't even want to know what that's going to entail...
  18. And that's where I bid you all goodnight and all the best. *door bangs... footsteps... car starts... drives off... plane takes off...*
  19. Really? I've never met anyone who doesn't like Varg's vocals on the first four Burzum albums. They're about as good as black metal vocals can get. Stunning in every way.
  20. Sweetbreads are definitely misleading!!
  21. I love 'Tragedy' but I wouldn't say it's aggressive. A track from that album that is a bit more aggressive would be 'Feed my Dreams' maybe. I'm sort of sorry that the 'Chamber Music' album didn't do better because I really love that smooth groove vibe with catchy choruses they've got going on there. Some great tracks like the aforementioned 'Tragedy', 'El Cu Cuy', 'No Home', and 'Not Living'. At least, I remember them as being awesome from nearly 20 years ago...
  22. I was thinking about the cheek of a fish, which is really nice, and forgot that beef cheeks are also cheeks because there's another meat that is called something that it's not and that's where I got my wires crossed. Bonus points if anyone can name what it is. Whenever I feel strange about eating beef cheeks I just turn the other cheek because I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. Sorry, just some cheeky puns there...
  23. This is because the songs of Ghaal era Gorgoroth and God Seed are both written by a geezer called King ov Hell, and that's his writing style. Sorry if you knew this already. King ov Hell and Ghaal were a package deal for a while there, to the great excitement of nobody.
  24. Nah, it's a part of the body of the cow that tends to get cooked for a long time until it's all fally-aparty and delicious. The title is definitely misleading. I can't actually tell you what part of the cow it comes from though.
