  4. so I've checked plenty Doom records.start from Traditional Doom metal,Death/Doom,Funeral Doom, etc. so what band/albums you think can be considered as Obscure Doom Metal stuff ? I started with this album.this album have very lot of Traditional Doom metal elements. but at the same time they've produce groovy guitar riff sound.

  5. Soldat Hans from Switzerland put out an eclectic album last year, sort of post-rock meets funeral doom. First track in particular was a standout for me: Crypt Of Silence is a doom-death group from the Ukraine. Melodies remind me a little bit of MDB and Daylight Dies. I liked their album Awareness Ephemera when it came out a couple years ago: Enter The Soil is a one-man doom-death/funeral doom project from New Zealand. The guy used to post here a little bit. "That Amber Lit Morning" came out in 2017: Thorns Of The Carrion was an American doom-death group that put out a couple of albums in the mid 90s. Their debut "The Gardens Of Dead Winter" is my favorite -- lo-fi, creepy, brooding. On a different note, Marrowfields are friends of mine from up here in New England with more of an epic vibe - killer clean vocals, very sparing background death growls. I'm looking forward to their upcoming album. Here's a promo track:

  7. Check out the one (and only) album from Russia’s Scald “Will of Gods is Great Power”. Behold the single greatest epic-doom metal song ever recorded - “Night Sky”. The riff from about 5.50 is massive. Very obscure band and release. Singer sadly killed in a train accident and band dissolved thereafter. Hence only 1 album.

  8. Non death metalllers might find it easier listening to more melodic releases before the hard stuff. Dismember - ‘Massive Killing Capacity’ Carcass - ’Surgical Steel’ Bloodbath - ‘The Arrow Satan is Drawn’

  14. We are off walking on the weekend, whatever the weather we have decided to go regardless. I have a drive up to Falkirk tomorrow so hoping for some decent dry weather for that as the motorway gets more pleasing on the eye the further north you go usually.
