  1. Hey Szandor, welcome to the forum, sorry to hear about your cat situation.
  2. I have not seen where you've written where you are moving to, perhaps you haven't said. At any rate, naturally I hope it works out for you. We went to a little Preakness party and ate a bunch of crap dip and drank moderately. have not been partying much recently, so it was fun to dress up and hang out.
  3. I hope you feel better soon Relentless.
  4. Welcome to the forum.
  5. I remember getting a cassette copy of Born Again for my brother to give him as a Christmas present, probably around '85 when I was 15. He is 8 years older and a big Sabbath fan, but was not into the cassette, and just accepted it politely on account of it's not being an Ozzy album. It's an ugly cover, but a great cover, only Mob Rules had a better cover, but at the time I was not aware of the Ronnie years that were just ending, I just knew my brother was into Sabbath, and Iron Man had been my favorite song when I was 6 or so. The funny thing is that Dio albums were scary to me at that time, but I thought Born Again was a cool looking album cover, so go figure. Anyway, hope you like my story. It always reminded me of this movie poster... well, if you read my two posts you will find that my story has not changed a whole lot in the year since I recounted it originally, a careful comparison will reveal some discrepancies. Perhaps we will never know how I truly felt about the album cover for Born Again in or around 1984, but it does seem clear that "It's Alive" pretty much freaked my shit in 1974 when I was 4.
  6. Welcome to the forum. I like space battles, in theory, in practice I guess they are too expensive. "Does it play Doom?" is the first question I ask about any stereo. I carried the Pony torch for a wile here, but I've let it slide (I don't know any of their names). You should post a picture of your cat right away, if you don't have one a stuffed animal will do.
  7. I only mention it since it has been on my mind. Buying downloads is outside of my realm of experience as I'm an old fogie and a bit of a Luddite.
  8. I'm excited for your new release, Efes. Clearly you are as well. I dig the artwork, it's edgy and a little blunt if you will pardon the pun. I still have not purchased anything form you but I will I promise.
  9. I just finished watching We Are Twisted F***ing Sister, which is streaming on Netflix if anyone cares. It was wicked entertaining. It's a documentary.
  10. I had a great time, it was a fabulous trip, and I did make it over to the Moog Electronic Instruments factory and store front. I found something reasonable to desire in their Mooger Fooger effect pedals which are very cool looking and even better sounding. I've got the name of one written down that is about $300 and is a base filter thing, I forget, but it sounds way cool. Supposedly the low end is Moog's strong suit. Perhaps I can save for that sort.
  11. Cathedral - The Guessing Game (one of only 500 copies pressed in translucent blue) Windhand - Debut
  12. I got home from our trip down south. I have tickets to see Windhand open for Sleep, so that is exciting. I am sleepy, and my hand hurts a bit, but I'm off to work in the morning.
  13. Interesting. I've not read the Silmarillian (nor do I know how to spell it), but from some commentary and overviews I've seen there seems to be a bit of racism as well, such as Dwarfs being somewhat sub-human/sub-elvin. Also women don't seem to count for mush in his world view, Galadrial being a noteworthy exception.
  14. Yeah, the museums... You should be glad to live in NYC. If you are between 9 and 12, your parents should get you to DC. The monuments have a purpose as well. If going to a museum gets you introduced to something that leads to your reading a book than that is to the good. We went up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and cought a glimpse of the Smaokies today. We will be breasing through NYC on Sunday to visit my Aunty Oksana. That's midtown on the Isle of Mann-Hatt, as it is known to Thundar the Barbarian. Chelsea I believe. Some may recall a description of the Russian Orthodox funeral she arranged for my uncle who passed away last December.
  15. Yes, on the mall in DC checking out museums.
  16. We spent basically one day no the mahal inDC. The Thomas Cole paintings that appear on a couple of the early Candlemass albums were the most metal thing I saw. We went to Montecello, that Jefferson, what was he thinking? Can you have consensual sex with an enslaved person of your sisters?
  17. I will be going to Asheville, but sadly I'm going there without five and a half thousand dollars in spare cash with which to purchase a Moog. I've need to find more modest ways to indulge myself on this trip, so there is a record store I love down there and a bar or two so maybe a bit of whiskey, that will have to do. There will be a Sedar to conduct this afternoon, on a separate note, so I'm going to do some last second research on the symbolic significance of the various plagues. That is pretty metal I figure. Not I'm not Jewish, my dad's dad was, but not religiously. He was from Poland.
  18. We are headed to North Carolina by car this coming week with a stop in DC to see some museums. Pretty exciting for us.
  19. Good day to you Mr. Wiffler, here is a little welcoming flower arrangement for you, special until about 4:00 Eastern Standard Time USA for all newcomers. Santa wants to eat your soul with cookies and cream, so watch out. Is it Christmas yet in Australia, I know you have that whole seasonal inversion thing what with being upsidedown and all.
  20. This is awesome. All the parts are there, plus some blooming roses. Right up my alley, so thanks for posting. I don't recognize the synthetic man with to glowing eyes, please tell me where he comes from. I'd like to get some boots like his.
  21. Still listening mostly to Cathedral
  22. Yes, Deathly Hallows was one of my favorite of the books and the only movies left unseen. I just have not gotten around to it somehow.
