  5. Had a telephone interview today for the job I applied for. There's alot of travel involved (maybe overseas) which doesn't really bother me and the job spec seems more than manageable to me. Just waiting on the expenses question until I know I am through to the next round of the recruitment process. Managed to pitch my salary at £5k a year more than I am on now too so fingers crossed.
  6. Despite cutting back a bit on the alcohol consumption I have enjoyed some St Peter's Cream Stout this weekend. Really smooth and tasty. Needed something cooling after the curry I had made for tea.
  7. Emperor "Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk" Finally starting to click. Ignoring that it was mixed by a deaf person is helping.
  8. Blut Aus Nord "The Work Which Transforms God"
  9. I am planning on beefing up my Blut collection as the months go by. NP - Immortal "Battles In The North"
  10. I downloaded "The Work Which Transforms God" the other day and got to listen to it at the gym yesterday over a couple of hours. It is frankly one of the most brilliant auditory experiences of my life. So bleak and desolate, seeping with dissonance but also ethereal beauty at the same time. It's extraordinary how there is so much going on yet none of it seems out of place despite it's off-kilter delivery. With every twist or distortion to the structure there is still a real feeling of that is exactly what should be happening. It is an album made by a band completely at ease with themselves who are not simply trying to tick boxes or live up to genre tags. "The Odinist" was billed to me as being "experimental" which is not what I get from it. It's more aggressive than some of the reviews would have you believe to. It's leagues away from "The Work.." and "MORT" but it is still enjoyable all the same.
  11. This again, full of dissonance, off-kilter melodies and riffs and atmosphere - quite pleasing.
  12. Goatlord - s/t Deicide "Scars of the Crucifix" Mitochondrion "Archaeaeon" Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  13. Blut Aus Nord "Odinist..." Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  14. The Great Old Ones "Tekeli - Li" Big atmospheric BM with some great structures, seen it get some major props on the web so thought I would investigate.
  15. The CV has finally been updated and I have put it on a few job sites to see what interest I can garner for it. Applied for a job tonight for the first time in over a decade. Feels weird - although I didn't get any real pangs of "OMG the world as I know it is changing!". Job seems good but there's a lot of travel up and down the country and lots of time away from home. Downside is if it's the company I think it is for then they are a right bunch of arseholes who pay well but cover no expenses - if that is so then it isn't for me.
  16. Emperor "Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk" 2nd listen - I ain't convinced so far.
  17. Mitochondrion "Archaeaeon" Emperor "Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk"
  18. Tsjuder "Legion Helvete" Abazagorath "S/t" Now Mitochondrion "Archaeaeon"
