Boy can I ever pick 'em. The restaurant my girlfriend and I went to for our 1yr anniversary was fantastic. I had a prosiutto & cheese salad as my entree - not normally one for salad but this was quite nice, duck in a cream based sauce with potato rohti I think they called it - absolutely stunning, and a choc-blood orange mousse for dessert - best dessert I've ever eaten. The house wine was a divine Shiraz which has convinced me wine is very much worth delving into more seriously (beware RelentlessWineSnob is on the prowl) and the coffee I had with my dessert was also very nice. Paired with a lovely atmosphere and very friendly, helpful, staff (and the presence of my girlfriend naturally) it made for a wonderful evening/night.

Happy I busted out the Satyricon CDs, inspired by Macabre's recent exploration. The Shadowthrone is still my favorite, but I hadn't really listened to DMT or ND in at least a couple years. Their riffy approach and almost Viking-metal melodic sensibility still mark out their early albums as some of my favorite stuff from the scene.
I'm celebrating my ten-thousandth post here by drinking a couple of beers and listening to My Dying Bride - As The Flower Withers. This place has been important to me over the past couple of years. It's been a pleasure getting to know you guys and gals, and I've not only discovered new music, but gotten back into some old favorites because of our conversations. Cheers to all my friends here.

G'Day mate based on your intro I'd say we share more then a few common interests which is pretty cool. Nice to have another cyclist join the ranks as well. I'm vision impaired so ride a tandem bike with a sighted person on the front. Oh and Thai cuisine FTW!!!
