  2. Re: Ban the user above you! Banned for stealing from Thor...and altering his weaponry. Of course at this rate we'll both be banned for hogging the thread.
  3. Re: Most Metal thing to eat for breakfast? MARMALADE! Wow. Swedes are so white they waterboard people with MILK?
  4. Re: Ban the user above you! Ahh. Catharsis. It's soothing. Kinda like letting out a big fart after a dinner of bacon hamburger, home-style fries and 3 glasses of Coke. And that's what ah mean win ah say theat Umericuh stainds fer greatniss, fowks. Cuz we's got FREE REFILLS ohn them TWENNY OUNCE glassiz, not nun uv these teensy li'l thangs they's gaht in Italy whar it's smaller'n a dern'd shatgun sheil'n it'll cost yeh fer every refill you git... I don't want to ban you either. I'm happy to have a friend on the Baltic, all the best metal comes from right there- BOOOM Aw dang. One of my ban bombs went off. It was nice knowing you...
  5. Re: Rate the song above you! Sheesh, you Norwegians have got a dark sense of humor . Have you got some really freaky black metal video you want to scare me with now? I hope it's Melechesh or Rudra, I'm not much of a fan of European black metal...oh dear, the conflict's going to brew up again...
  6. Re: Your Lyrics Well, I've written a lot, but it's mainly on Harry Potter themes... Magic is Might A monument To our achievement Blood type purity Destroy the stains All that still remains Of a false parity Muddied blood ruins the living Of the wizard type Some dare to say that we’re equals Don’t believe the hype It’s a gift of fate, one might say Gives us the right to rule Unnatural power gives us control Over the mundane fool Chorus: Death Growl Magic is might The inborn proficiency Conditions us For domination We bear the light Self-evident supremacy Of our kind Magical nation The wizarding world… Ron: Monolithic might Can we hope to fight The apparatus of oppression And the dying of the light? Hermione: The statue claims we shall be put in our place That we’ll be told the proper state for our race Blood darkened by the blot Of mundane birth Will be wiped from memory On the new earth (Chorus) Harry: A spider’s web Now proliferates Out across the world Clutching fingers Their hand of control Will choke the life from you Death vocals: There’s no escape; we’re everywhere There’s no one you can trust It’s like iron in rain, trying in vain To escape the rust (Chorus) I have more of this; it's a sort of metal opera so I could post a lot more. I just figure that this is one of the lyrics most likely to resonate with people even if they don't necessarily understand the underlying theme.
  7. Re: The Hellion has arrived. Oh goody. Maybe I can come by your shop one of these days. Are you by any chance Michael Lee Ostrander? If so, Marcos Cavalcante recommended that I try to meet you to see whether I might be able to learn to play better metal guitar based on some instruction. I'm not professional by any stretch of the imagination and I'm probably not going to major in music, but I have enjoyed getting to play metal guitar. Thank you for the information.
  8. Re: Shit Music Nah. Wayne's more complicated than that. He's using an unorthodox tuning...and playing the guitar with nascent telekinetic powers. So see, he doesn't need to pick up the instrument or tune it. He can just play from his heart. And his heart is about as talented with the guitar as a stoned orangutan. EDIT: 'stoned orangutan' is not intended as a racist joke.
  9. Re: The Hellion has arrived. Oh yes. The desert land as concerns water...and metal.
  10. Re: Rate the song above you! "ARE YOU FUCKING BASHING RANDY BLYTHE ?!?>:(" -apocalypse922 Call it what you want. It's not my style. Voyager's not yours but I didn't launch into ALL CAPS IRE when you gave them 3/5. If I were bashing Randy Blythe I'd certainly have used more vicious language. If we're allowed to incorporate personal tastes into our ratings then I'm perfectly within my rights to do this. If it's of any importance I think they're one of the better well-publicized bands. I like their riffing. The drumming is nice. And most of the time these vocals are good.I just prefer more of a rasp to the vocals. I was confused; I thought you were saying Miseration was insulting Blythe. Anyhow, what d'you think of them?
  11. Re: The Hellion has arrived. Hail Hydra! Oh, no, wait, wrong world-domination group... Darn straight, metal is a gift from God. Welcome to the forum, I'll leave the formal stuff up to someone of a higher rank.
  12. Re: Ban the user above you! Like I said, I'm feeling vindictive. It is lifting me beyond reason into a world of pure rage and self-hatred, sparking my inferiority complex and causing us to question the validity of our own existence. The Norwegianses, they don't like us, yes, nasty people with their corpsepaint and pickled herring, they don't understand us... -But they're honest, yes, that they are, and we mustn't get on their case for that. 'Tis only fair we lets them say what they wants... -But why must we always bow to other peoples, hmm? We's always having to apologize for our feelings, yes, apologize to the Vikingses, 'tis time we stands up! -Yes, but he stands up too! We's got to respect his honesty, not like the pop fans, oh no, not like the weenieses which listens to pop, no! We's better than that... -You're a noob, and a whiner. Nobody likes you! What would we be without me? -Not listening...Not listening...no, go away...LEAVE NOW, AND NEVER COME BACK! Ah, good, my schizophrenic fit is over. Banned for making me plagiarize LOTR.
  13. Re: Ban the user above you! Banner for saying Voyager's 'Lost" is only 60% awesome and because I'm feeling vindictive about having my music ranked low in the 'rate the song above you' thread. Sixty percent just a passing grade. And not enough to earn credit hours...but enough about my calculus course.
  14. Re: Rate the song above you! 8.5/10; the vocals could be a bit better... But everything else was great. Bah humbug, I see that I'm not going to get anywhere with clean vocals... gZF9MMx-skc
  15. Re: Shit Music Learning guitar has forced me to respect blues. Plus, of course, my teacher is a jazz player so that's really his field of expertise. He's got posters of famous blues musicians all over his walls.
  16. Re: best dual guitarist and keyboardist in power metal? Thomas Buchberger and Mario Hirzinger from Serenity are great. Guiseppi Bondi and Giovanni Santini of Thy Majestie are also very good Jyri Vahvanen and Maria Honkanen from Battlelore also do excellent melody work. But probably my favorite is Markus Sigfridsson and Magnus Holmberg of my favorite band: Swedish prog-power band Harmony.
  17. Re: Mayhem So you're also within distance of Albuquerque... Blech. I'll consider going when I know a weedy guy like me isn't going to get pummeled by some lawless idiot bruiser, and when they've got a band that I actually want to hear. It sounds like the banana was the best thing that happened...
  18. Re: what got you listening to metal? Metallica, actually. I don't like them much at all now but I heard Enter Sandman on the radio, which convinced me that metal wasn't that bad. I got an emusic card and bought me some Threshold and a lot of HammerFall...and the rest is history. Still haven't actually been to a metal concert yet, though.
  19. Re: House of Metal
  20. Re: Most Metal thing to eat for breakfast? Depends on what band you're a fan of... Freedom Call: grilled cheese with cheese on the top in a fondue pot Evoken: nothing...you're going to die anyway... Orphaned Land: lamb Svartsot: beef and ale Dethklok: a nice cup of Duncan Hills Coffee Thy Majestie: breakfast burrito, because you need to eat something that's as stuffed with EPIC as the band you listen to. Scar Symmetry: anything CRUNCHY Dimmu Borgir: SOULS And a Chick-Fil-A chicken biscuit with hash browns and a Coke with no ice if you like Seventh Wonder...because I do!
  21. Re: what's the most metal thing you own? My Sansa Fuze Mp3 player... 95% of the 695 songs on there are metal. In addition I've got a Battlelore (The Last Alliance) t-shirt.
  22. Re: Metal Vs. . . . . . everything else
  23. Re: Metal Vs. . . . . . everything else
  24. Re: Gothic Metal I like some... Edenbridge, Within Temptation, Midnattsol, Leaves' Eyes, Shadowplay (a little-known Australian band), Theatre of Tragedy (Storm, haven't heard their earlier work) and Elysion. Probably my two favorite gothic metal bands are Delain and HB. HB has, I think, peaked and is getting worse. Nonetheless, I like a lot of their material. Pikki Lihassa is my favorite album. This is some earlier material from them, and it's a bit repetitive, but I like it because it's got a guitar solo and drum solo. Je2b6CWi_Wo
