  1. 3 great albums for me this morning: Arsena - Blood Rusted Mother Earth Excellent Thrash Metal album, technical, progressive and with a strong Bay Area touch. Will probably be my Thrash album of the year. It is full of details that force our attention, for our greatest pleasure. Morbid Angel - Covenant Not my favorite but one of the ones I listen to most often. Incubus - Beyond the Unknow I really like this record. Raw production, a music that sends a good dose of energy, an intriguing cover.
  2. Arsena - Blood Rusted Mother Earth - 09/09/2022 I already knew the band with their EPs but the album is here and I love it! As far as Thrash Metal is concerned, here is a serious competitor to everything that has been released in the genre this year, including the latest Megadeth that I love though.
  3. My purchases since the beginning of the year : - AKHLYS - Melinoë. - ARSENA - Blood Rusted Mother Earth. - ATHANOR - Le Testament du Diable. - ATROCITY - Unspoken Names demo 1991. - BLIND ILLUSION - 2018 EP - BLIND ILLUSION - The Sane Asylum - BLOODBATH - Survival of the Sickest. - BROTALITY - The Woods will end You - BROTALITY - Worldwide Desolation - BRUTALFLY - I Was an Experiment. - DISFUNERAL - Blood Red Tentacle. - FAITH IN AGONY - Drowned & Exalted. - FRANCIS DECAMPS - Bien au-delà du Délire - JPL - Sapiens trilogy (3 records). - MEKONG DELTA - Complete discography. - NEMO - Les Nouveaux Mondes. - PESTILENCE - Consuming Impulse. - PESTILENCE - Testimony of the Ancients. - RAVAGE REALM - Burning Ambitions - RAVAGE REALM - Realm of the Unknown - SEPTICFLESH - Mystic Places at Dawn. - THE LAST TOMB - I. - UNDEAD PROPHECIES - False Prophecies. - UNDEAD PROPHECIES - Sempiternal Void. - XENOPHILE - Systematic Enslavement 41 albums in FLAC format.
  4. I listen to my music, either on public transport or while coding in Python for work. It's been a long time since I listened to music without doing anything else. 😑
  5. Sortilège - Phoenix 12 classics of the French Heavy Metal band from the 80's re-recorded last year + two unreleased tracks. Christian "Zouille" still has a great voice!
  6. Nocturnus - Thresholds I prefer The Key and in fact, I don't often listen to this Thresholds.
  7. Nevermore - The Year of the Voyager What a waste that this group split up! Of course, with the sad death of Warrel Dane, a reformation seems quite delicate. But when I see how underused Jeff Loomis is in Arch Enemy, I can only be disgusted that Nevermore is no more.
  8. Megadeth - The sick, the dying and the dead - 2022 I just listened to the whole album. I find it a little bit long but I guess Dave wanted his fans to get their money's worth after so many years between this album and Dystopia. Anyway, no filler. All the tracks are nice! Faith in Agony - Drowned & Exalted - 2021 French heavy metal, with the singer Ma Die (ex-Nightmare). I really like the sound of the guitars.
  9. I listened to the new Megadeth but only partially. What I listened to, I loved. Including the track with Ice-T. I have no problem with this artist. He did a great cover of Raining Blood with his buddies. You can easily find the video on YouTube. The guitarist of Agent Steel is there too, among others. And I liked his participation on a song with Slayer. Edit: I hadn't seen the video above of Ice-T before posting my message, sorry.
  10. Faith In Agony - Drowned & Exalted https://faithinagony.bandcamp.com/album/drowned-exalted
  11. Personally, today I listened to the 2022 version of the album Les Nouveaux Mondes by the French progressive rock band NEMO. NEMO is a former progressive band that distilled in its music some hard rock elements (the guitars). Les Nouveaux Mondes is their first album released in 2002. 20 years later, the album was re-recorded by the band JPL, the current band of the former singer of NEMO, Jean-Pierre Louveton. It is a concept album based on the novel Around the World in 80 Days by the writer Jules Verne. https://youtu.be/AHmXI0EtmF8
  12. Arsena - Blood Rusted Mother Earth - Release date: September 9 Based out of Baltimore, MD, Arsena is a 4 headed chimera of genre-defying influences creating a new, unique spin on its core sound of old school thrash metal. The group expands upon its musical similarity to Havok, Mastodon, Primus, and Megadeth with a haunting sense of atmosphere and melody long since lost by the genre. Bandcamp
  13. As for me, when I don't listen to Metal, I listen to Progressive Rock. Spock's Beard (until the V album), Nemo (France), JPL (France), Ange (53 years of existence !), Tristan Décamps, Francis Décamps, Gens de la Lune. I like as much the music which makes dream as the one which beats 😁
  14. SPECIES - To Find Deliverance - release date: 26/08 Thrash from Poland, with some jazzy elements https://species1.bandcamp.com/album/to-find-deliverance
  15. My recent listening : - Elements by ATHEIST. The album is accessible from the first listen, less technical than its predecessors. Apart from Jupiter, I like all their albums. - Beyond the Unknow by INCUBUS. Terribly efficient! - Face no More by LUNACY. A Swiss band, if I'm not mistaken. Efficient Thrash that I'm discovering right now. - Ave Satani by DAMIEN BREED. Thrash with a concept album based on the first movie of the saga The Omen. I have a hard time getting into the album. But I will persist! - The American Way by SACRED REICH. For me, Sacred Reich is Ignorance and Surf Nicaraga. TAW is already starting to move away from the Slayerian Thrash of the beginning. Too much for me. But I have to admit that as I listen to the record while typing this message, the songs are going over pretty well.
  16. Thank You, I will do that
  17. This is what I fear for my favorite style: that everything has already been played out and nothing new can happen. 🤔 And sorry for the delay, I am only on the forum for a few weeks 😉 In fact, I'm going to look at all those worthwhile Thrash records from the early years that I might not have listened to yet. For example, I'm listening to Lunacy's Face no More album (1992).
  18. The last really original Thrash band to appear for me is Vektor. Have you seen a band that really brings something new and refreshing to the genre since? I spend a lot of my time searching the net. I see a lot of Thrash/Black bands (it's a trend these days!), a lot of bands from the South American scene inspired by early Sepultura, a lot of bands inspired by Kreator/Sodom/Destruction. On the melodic side, Bay Area Thrash is still attracting a lot of young bands. Exodus, Testament are a source of inspiration for many bands who do not hesitate to mix these influences with German Thrash. But in all that I listen to, I don't find anything really new. Nothing new on the horizon. And I have a holy aversion for all these drummers who steal the style of Tom Hunting (Exodus). So, have you seen a young band trying to get out of the pack by offering something fresh?

  21. And he forgets everything he listened to by the time he falls asleep. 😁
  22. Haha, we all have different tastes (oops, I'm French, I hope the word "gout" fits?) and that's good Ride the Lightning, with me it was the opposite. At the time, I was listening to classic metal (Saxon, Maiden, Twisted Sister). I liked what I was listening to but inside I felt the need to listen to something even more violent. And when Fight Fire with Fire came into my ears for the very first time, it was THE revelation. I was hearing about Thrash Metal without really knowing what it was. Then I understood... And loved it! Nowadays, this could not be truer. So many albums released that it's impossible to listen to everything, let alone appreciate it.
  23. For me, it was The Key by Nocturnus. However, I had the opportunity to listen to it a long time ago, when it was released. Then on other occasions over the years, but each time, it put me off. I found it too weird in the sound. I knew I was missing out on a great album, but I couldn't get past it. Recently, I finally got into it and listened to it, listened to it and listened to it some more. It has become a classic for me. Another example? Darkness Descends by Dark Angel. The only album of D.A. that I never listened to while the other 3 did. And finally, I listened to it a lot and I ended up putting it in my playlist. I must have other examples but no name comes to me at the moment.
