I'm a subscriber to metal 🔨 hammer magazine UK. When I started listening to metal again after I got married 😂 it was very useful in helping me find some good stuff to listen to as all my CDs were old metal. now I don't read it as much as I used to. Still enjoy all the historical stuff about metals famous bands including iron maiden, black Sabbath, judus priest, pantera etc. I still find the occasional good album from it. The magazine went bust but thanks to orange goblins Mr ben ward👏👏👏👏👏 it survived with new owners. In short I'm enjoying and subscribing while it lasts

Hi Parker. That's a good story. Did you ever find out if it was true. My friend told me cliff Burton died at a metalica concert when his massive amp blew up. I was a bit sceptical tbh. This was made up obviously and I found out before too long. Re memories of before the internet. The only place I got music or to listen to new music was the largely the record shops as none of my friends liked metal. It was ok but nowadays is so easy with so much on internet and the choice is so much better. Somehow I think atmospheric blackened doom with alot of Gregorian chant in Greek would not be at hmv in the UK. Yes I do own this. 😁

Getting a bad gift is very annoying relentless. When my brother strayed off my rum shortlist for my birthday. I got said bottle sent back by my brother and a suitable bottle sent. It was worth. My wife said I was terribly rude.I wasn't,honest. 😁

Candlemass- epicus doomicus metalicus This is clean singing. No growling. Just the occasional high pitch stuff. Very much enjoying this at the moment. The doomy bassy bits I think are spot on too.

Thankds for the history lesson very interesting. Re the Beatles I never got that band. They done a number of songs I really really liked like yesterday, sarge pepper song and some others the rest I'd leave. However the rest of the world including America loved them. Your right loads of bands have tried to crack America and loads and loads have failed. Iron maiden Ive read only took off big time there when bruce d was singer. It's a hard place to break into definitely. I've heard of Jimmy Barnes. He's on UK rock radio from time to time. Are Midnight oil, men at work part of the scene I've heard a couple of there tracks which they play on the UK radio. Inxs didn't realise they were part of the same scene I'd assumed they just gone to America and got mutt Lange to produce them and they was instant success. Im not there biggest fan by any stretch but the songs I've heard of there's are very catchy especially the guitars. A bit overproduced for me. Sort of like zz top for there big hits. I'd probably like them more if it weren't so perfect and shiny neat sounding. 😁What a description 🤣

Me again🙂 the mechanic at work agrees to. He said he saw Saxon not long ago and was very impressed with the show. Also the lucky duck 🦆saw motorhead not that long before Lemmy died. He said only bad part of show was the volume. As it went up and up and up he migrated further away from the front. 😁 Yeah the new Saxon album. I need to you tube that and put it on my wishlist as short of money. A band I'd like to see is iron maiden before they retire. Did you see a show or at download. Was they good. My standard is flat water on a river so some current on that. 😁The whitewater stuff sounds more exciting. All those places you teach cool. It be boring I think to teach on the same place all the time ☺️ re the Nepal stuff it was fun. It was white water rafting. Well it was fairly sedate most of it, but there was white water sections that were exciting.. Instructors were excellent probably there main reason we didn't fall in for those sections. Also have you kayaked anywhere cool abroad. My great aunt kayaked Alaska🥶 The Jeffersons stuff sounds good. When I'm in funds I'm going to get some koval rye 100% rye whisky from the home of rye. Chicago 😁 ok just kidding. It's not a straight rye so it will have more bite. I would have got straight rye but after reading gg's post I changed my mind. Also I got an email from Highland park about entering draw for a 1960 edition. £22000. I'm guessing that's an investment for rich people but not to be drunk.

That's a good reason to cut back pal re your ulcer. I had a ibd flare up for about 2 years so drinking was so unpleasant during this period so I just stopped for nearly all of it until the troublesome area was zapped💥from what I saw on camera survey I knew I must cut back and I did. 😱😁 Good reason to cut back re the price of the drink. It's expensive. Less so with offers😁

I've heard good things about there latest album Dark gloomy album. Maybe that's why I like the X factor so much as most of my music is gloomy stuff. My wife has described me as most negative person she's ever met. Bit harsh 😁 2015 remaster sounds fantastic. Not heard the original version of X factor SIgn of the crossThat epic final solo as well. So good. Apparently they play it live still so thats a mark of approval. Blaze bayley I agree was needed at the time and it worked certainly long run as there going still and there still producing well received albums which get good reviews which sell well. The tracks I've heard of the post blaze era I've liked alot. Blaze bayley is I think very metal name and Bruce Bruce has more metalness for sure😂 Yeah I think X factor would have been better with blaze bayley presenting and metal music instead of pop music. First episode could have been Simon cowbell 🙂(more metalness name😂)being shown a front row centre seat and told to have fun or leave. Judges rob halford, Steve Harris, Ozzy I'd watch it. 😁

I'm with you re not drinking so much these days. I've had some health issues so I've cut back to drinking once or twice a week. No drinks this week as I definitely need to have no booze weeks. Had french fries 🍟 instead. With lots of ketchup. Ohhhhhhhh. Living on the edge 😁

Am I right in assuming you take groups of people for various excursions? I did white water kayaking along time ago in Nepal. It was certainly exciting. Have you heard of basil Hayden bourbon. The Kentucky straight bourbon got good reviews. When I googled bourbon types there's 3 main types high rye, high wheat and traditional. Which is your favourite of the types. Alabaster from comment I'm guessing is a rye fan. I've definitely liked high wheat such as makers mark.

Good to hear from you bud. what is happening to me.😁 The X factor is growing on me. Love that opening track. Never thought I'd say that. I like the solo stuff I've heard even more. I'm surprised the music's beating my expectations. I can see why he got the iron maiden job in first place because he's got that sound. He cant do the long power notes to my ears as good as Bruce can but he excels bruce at some of the other notes. To my ears at least. 😁 Overall I think Bruce is better fit for maiden. However I'd agree blaze is definitely underated. Might look for there tour dates as I bet it's good live. Have you seen blaze live. Also blaze bailey is way more metal name I reckon than Bruce Dickinson. Just saying

Saxon id like to see live. I should make more of an effort to see them before they retire. Let me know how you get on with saxon. Alot of those old singers in my experience do a great job. Joey belladonna I thought was fantastic when I saw anthrax live and there's many others who I reckon do amazing. I think there experience for live gigs counts for alot. They just know how to work the crowd. Cool third gig. My third gig was not anything like Saxon or as good. Hopefully biff won't die like Lemmy. Fingers crossed. Lucky sock time etc 😉 Magnum there rock with fantasy elements. Vigilante is amazing song of theres. Storytellers night I thinks excellent. Not quite metal but not that far away. I discovered them thanks to planet rock.
