  1. Fantastic. I've met someone who likes pallbearer. Well done miw. ๐Ÿ‘out of interest have you been fan long. I think there excellent by the way. I'd forgotten about them. It's all clean singing from the albums I've got anyway. Good live too.
  2. Hello Frasier. Pentagram. Thanks for posting. I've heard of them but been to lazy to look them up.Its good with that Sabbath doom sound from what I heard so far. Here's one for ya. Seed by nixa. From there opus tierra album. Very catchy.
  3. That's a good idea. Herbs in a toasted sandwich Obvious really. ๐Ÿ˜‹
  4. I like best death/doom,doom , , Funeral doom stuff. Some selected black metal and thrash too. Bands like obituary, opeth, Mettalica, slayer, pallbearer, bell witch, slow, immortal, skepticism, wolves in the throne room, officium triste, jonestown, nixa vallenfyre, hamferd, abyssic,et moriemur etc. Re mainstream 80s metal bands I like them enough to want to see them live and listen to them occasionally. Another reason I want to see these bands is they will just suddenly stop and I won't be able to see them. I'd have liked to see slayer but I put off seeing them a few times and now I can't. Magnum were much better live than on record. Bob Cattley's voice just seemed better, and the band was good. Only bad bit of gig was arm waving bits. That was a bit too bon Jovi for me.๐Ÿ™„bought a killer t shirt too. Bob cattleys daughter served me which was cool. I did listen to the bands you posted links for. Monster magnet was my favourite so far. Thanks for the links. I'd say there all rock. They'd play all those on planet rock(UK radio station)
  5. That guy that's cool you played against a good player like that. Aussie international for a bit too. Yeah that can be difference between the pros and the ones who don't make the grade. A friend of mine from my hometown used to play for London Scottish rugby team. I was playing in a friendly cricket match. He was umpire and he couldn't resist a bit of sledging of my bowling technique. Again it was about getting that edge but this was silly as he was umpire.๐Ÿคจ
  6. I'm the same with the guitar. I lack that patience to get far with it. ๐Ÿ˜Š I decided to fire up virtual 11 remastered version by blaze bailey era iron maiden on you tube. I liked the album alot when played from start to finish. I was surprised i liked it as much as I did. It's not as dark as the X factor. No mention of contemplating suicide here. But I liked it alot๐Ÿ˜‰What's your favourite of the two blaze albums? I reckon a bailey Harris project would be amazing. I'm sure a few have suggested it. Would you like to see that?
  7. Cool thanks for the links old boy๐Ÿ˜‰. I will check em out. Will probably dislike them all. Yeah if I like any I will let you know on that other thread. Thanks๐Ÿ‘ My mum is 72. She's not really a rock fan. Bruce Springsteen is about as rock as my mum gets. Magnum sound similar to that kind of music. The mechanic at work thought magnum sound bit like foreigner. I reckon he's on to something with that. Certainly vocals do go a bit Lou gramm at times.
  8. Oh yeah. Melted cucumber requires proper industrial equipment lol๐Ÿ˜‰ to do melted sandwich I toast bread. Make sandwich with cheese chunks. Microwave it till cheese is melted then I put in some slices of cucumber. Very posh English ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ˜ Re mother's day dinner. Never too early to be ready and make it. Might be mouldy or eaten by mice. At least you showed willing. ๐Ÿ˜‰ 2 out of 3 re meatloaf. Not bad. My taste is gone today. So if I'd eaten the spag Bolognese or dog food ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ• blind test today I probably wouldn't have noticed the difference ๐Ÿ˜Š
  9. GG your right re women liking magnum. I played some magnum to my mum and she was very very angry I didn't buy her a ticket ๐Ÿคฃ tbh I got the tickets as an alternative to watching nothing but metal shows. It's good to mix it up a bit for me. Plus I like there music somewhat. I bet there good live band. What rock bands would you like to see? I know you like rock music. You've mentioned it on other posts.
  10. I'm looking forward to conjurer's nuclear blast debut album. They got alot of coverage in kerrang and metal hammer mags UK for there debut the mire. Nearly every band hailed as best new UK band I generally don't like but conjurer I do. It's exactly the sort of melancholy atmospheric metal I listen to all the time anyway which reminds me a bit of opeth at there best in places. It's also cool there a UK band and they hail not that far away from my hometown. The preview track on bandcamp I'm liking alot.
  11. Iron maidens X factor I did not like to begin with. However I was expecting Bruce Dickinson first listen. I didn't know he was not the singer. However 2nd listen I enjoyed it alot. Now I love the record even if there's about 10 of us who really like it๐Ÿ˜‰ Pallbearers heartless album I did not like to begin with as it's very slow and seemed about boring and just too slow. After a few plays I got really in to it. It was my most played album for a time. I liked it so much when a family member asked for a great record for Christmas present. I gave them that and they were not happy at all๐Ÿ˜‚so funny now not so back then.
  12. James t good to hear from you. Hope your doing good. Yeah I agree not enough blaze fans especially of the X factor and virtual 11 which I like alot. Mettalica played last year in UK and maiden are only doing download festival. I don't fancy 3 day festival, especially the mud fest that often happens at UK download festival. Cool you like ambient stuff. Slows deeper in the space.......album is worth a listen. Kind of eerie but very atmospheric and interesting to listen to. Actually most of the stuff I considered ambient are just long doom tracks i.e 45 mins and up. Out of interest what ambient stuff do you recommend.
  13. Just had a cheese and cucumber melted sandwich ๐Ÿ˜‹ Also made the vege spag Bolognese for tomorrow. It's very good. Added slightly too much oregano but with extra cheese ๐Ÿง€ it tastes great. The chunky carrot is bit different but I like it. I rarely cook a meal like this but it's mother's Day tomorrow so I made the effort. The Linda mc cartney mince I thinks surprisingly good. Never tried this brand before. Anyone else preparing food for mother's day
  14. Out of interest did anyone go to school or are friends with pro rugby players. There was two I know from school who played pro rugby. They rose through Northampton saints academy. Ben Russel was youngest in England to turn pro at the time(at 23)his career cut short by injury. The other player will boughley played for Worcester. Neither was regular for the club. But still they were both playing premier rugby.will got a medal for winning a European cup. It was the lesser of the two competition they had at time but still Cool even if he was mostly used as a sub. I was bit surprised anyone from my school went that far. We were not that sporty a school.
  15. I'm lost for words๐Ÿ˜‰ story of my life. tbh I left myself open for this. Im not going to lob anything on stage. The more I say this the more you won't believe me๐Ÿ˜‚ yeah good advice re stage diving. After 12 whiskeys I may forget though. I'm not that heavy but enough to cause some damage.
  16. Well said Jono. I always liked reading his reviews in metal hammer magazine. Apparently Mettalica got there name from a book Malcolm wrote about metal. Sort of like an encyclopedia. They invited him to the Grammy's but he preferred the cro bar.
  17. Fantastic the concert was good for you. When I hear the singer I still think of the gingerbread man from Shrek. What do I know๐Ÿ˜‰ it's good we all like different music Magnum will be amazing I'm sure. Obviously not your type of music. May end up being me and a room full of screaming women lobbing knickers on the stage๐Ÿคฎ. I hope not ๐Ÿ€ not heard of savvy. Sound terrible ๐Ÿ˜Š That's fantastic youve survived the beef sarnie. My daughter ate play doh on the sly and she was๐Ÿคฎ all day. Kids๐Ÿ˜ž
  18. Lars can feck off. ๐ŸฅŠ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ˜‚
  19. Thanks for info James t. Man that's so cool your a blaze fan. There's not enough of us๐Ÿ˜ Mettalica live would be amazing. That's good the 360 degree thing works, I was never convinced it would work but it's one where it works better live I bet. My mate says there amazing live with the selection of songs like you say. It's cool to hear another good review re this. Seeing them and maiden is on my bucket list. All that pyro and stage props will make an amazing spectacle for both bands. Yeah cool not just me who likes a variety of metal. That's why I rarely listen not to metal. That's quite a selection you got. Do you listen to ambient stuff. I've got in to that more recently. ITS good we've got live music back for now at least. I'm seeing magnum Monday. 2 years after they were scheduled to play because of you know what. Hopefully it won't get cancelled again
  20. I didn't wear a gum shield when I played and I lost the front of my tooth. Lucky considering it was just the front that just fell off. Your right the pros use gum shields. I'm guessing most amateurs use gum shields too.
  21. Toffee is the same as taffy. Does this clear it up. There like starburst as there lemon flavor except alot more hard and brittle. Good idea re the frozen water trick. Nice cool water. Some of the customers at work don't drink the water because the pipes are lead. I will tell them to stop moaning as it's not got radon in it. Was overkill live good. James t from this forum saw them a few days back. He said they played amazing show. How was beef sandwich. Did you eat it? I'm seeing magnum next week. There a British rock band . I'm assuming you've never heard of them. Fantasy themes. Cool album covers. Some very catchy songs including vigilante, story tellers night ๐ŸŒƒ
  22. Is using a gum shield like the done thing most rugby players use. One of my wife's friends plays rugby and they played against one player who was so scathing about gum shields they decided to teach them a lesson by knocking out alot of there teeth.bit harsh if you ask me. Surely just winning the game would have been all that they needed to do. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  23. I'm not shitting on that. No way. A bucket is better than that. Brown trouser time is better๐Ÿ˜‚
  24. I'd like to see Mettalica live. Ive got to just pay the money. Last time they toured UK tickets were ยฃ100 and I said no. However when they next tour I may just buy some tickets anyway. What was they like live did they have lots of props and special effects. Obviously they've got the amazing music. New music from unexpected places is great. Iron maiden xfactor was last surprise purchase I got from a metal forum recommendation. It was a case where I got it because I liked it and was something a bit different. I don't know about you but if I listen to the same style of metal non stop I just get bored and sick of it. At those points I put my other styles of metal on. Keeps things fresh. With Veronica decides to die. The early tracks were my favourite and was very much music I listen to alot of the time. Produced by Flemming Rasmussen who Mettalica fans know who that is๐Ÿ˜‰ For a band you like alot why not. I've spent similar money on watching some sports events in the United States and it was not worth it as the match was boring but that's the risk. Even bands have off nights. It makes the great concerts even more memorable. Good luck with getting tickets for acdc show
