Ghost pepper metwurst, chorizo, a bottle of South Australian shiraz from a small celler door, jalapeno-fig jam, chipotle mustard, habanero hot sauce, and a bottle of pre-blended espresso-salted caramel whiskey at the Royal Adelaide Show (basically a fair)

the_thrashing given a Damn from TilDeathDoUsBarf in Killer bands with "Morbid" in the name
I don't know why but it seems that every band with the word Morbid in the name rips like wet farts on taco night.
I'm sure everyone knows Morbid Angel and Morbid but here's some other ones that to me prove my theory.

Morbid Saint.  This rips harder than ebola shits.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-GWEtD1yVY
Morbid Blood. That rooster on the cover is the Uruguayan cock of death.

Morbid Darkness, I just picked one of the however many bands with Morbid in the name and I liked it.

Morbid (Columbia) raw blackened diarrhea, I just found this.

the_thrashing gave a Damn to Requiem in Will singing ever make a comeback?
I’m out at the moment, but is that the Green Jelly who did ‘Three Little Pigs’? I loved that song when I was 14. Don’t think I’ve heard it since.
Cool that you gave ‘Prequelle’ a listen. I first heard it in a plane and wasn’t impressed. Takes context I guess.
As for your blasphemy regarding ‘Goodbye to Romance’ I’m utterly outraged  !!! All of Ozzy’s slow songs are brilliant, with the exception of ‘Dreamer’ which I hate. ‘Life Wont Wait’ is one of my favourite songs (on a shite album I’ll admit!).
    I’ll check out your recommendations.

Everything in metal is silly, that's what's so great about it. Even the satan Norway dudes who try to act all serious, I see them as the silliest of all and I like those bands.

Good topic but I have to say I don't listen to a lot of stuff aside from power and prog metal with purely clean singing. I like Howling Sycamore, and I think Jason McMaster sounds incredible in that band, but his voice is an acquired taste. I really like the first Pagan's Mind album as well, but that's the "Euro-power with keyboards" sound you don't enjoy. Isole has some great stuff, especially Bliss Of Solitude, if you're into melodic doom. Primordial might be worth a look, I'm not huge on their songwriting but Nemtheanga has an awesome rough singing style. Some friends of mine called Marrowfields are putting out an album soon with great rough cleans in a similar style.

The same thing happened to me, but it was twelve or thirteen years ago. I only put on solo King Diamond every year or so, but that early MF stuff and "Oath" in particular really get me going. Great melodies even if he's a silly bastard.

the_thrashing gave a Damn to Requiem in Zines
Check out the website Cult Never Dies. It’s run by Dayal Patterson (I presume) who wrote the amazing ‘Black Metal - Evolution of a Cult’ book.
They put out beautiful collected editions of some great black metal zines like ‘Skogan’ as well as a few others.
I own a few books by them and they’re always so well presented and packaged.
Then there’s also ‘The Slayer Mag Diaries’ by good old Metalion, which is easily the best collection of zines ever.
They’re both from the early 90s though, so I have no idea about current zines.

Just about every album is different with them.
I really like the first 4 albums and Odinist.
I still think the best song by them is Procession of Dead Clowns. I get it stuck in my head once in a while.

Leviathan, like Xasthur, is not an artist I can listen to consistently over a number of albums back to back.  It’s proper DSBM in the sense that it can be a chore to listen to.  However, when the mood hits right it can take you down into the darkest shitholes of your mind and rinse your very soul in acid!

The two older ones that I used to listen to are the Howl Mockery At The Cross demo compilation (not to be confused with the demo of the same name) and Tenth Sublevel Of Suicide. You might dig those. I also like Massive Conspiracy and Scar Sighted. Wouldn't call them more ambient -- they're more experimental, complicated, and "modern-sounding", if that makes sense. He's got a ton of material, I haven't explored all of it, and honestly I have to be in the mood for it, or I find it a bit of a slog; but that project was one of the few that I still enjoyed when I went through a moratorium on black metal a while back.
