It's delightful. One of those combinations that you don't think about until someone puts it together, and then you wonder why such a holy union took so long to transpire.

Just read the Tao Te Ching today.  It was a very interesting book.

I read that years ago, and remember enjoying it.  However, I cannot remember that much about it.

It kind of adds definition to middle earth as a whole as it gives the race of men some additional lore.

I've never bought their albums, but what I've heard from Ignorance was pretty good. Avoid their later stuff though, it's supremely dull.

Yeah to be honest I heard surf Nicaragua on the XM metal station I don't own anything either. But yeah based on their name I thought they were (Sorry to bring up another punk band lol) Skrewdriver-esque but I'm glad that is not the case at the very least.

  4. Does anybody like this band? I avoided them for awhile because of their name but upon finding out they aren't actually an alt-Right band I gave them a shot. I enjoyed Surf Nicaragua but I'm feeling like a lot of their work is hit or miss. Any thoughts?

My main problem is I've gotten a bit lazy in cooking of late. Easily remedied to be honest.

Not gonna lie. Did not even know how to cook more than using a microwave or heating up Ramen til I went vegan. Totally understand. Nobody taught me how to cook growing up.

Interestingly enough, deep tax cuts for the rich and spending cuts on social programs preceded the rise of the Nazi party in Germany. Coincidence?

Coinciding with xenophobia and marginalization of the left..huh.. almost sounds familiar.

I do a pretty good Hank Hill impersonation too. It probably doesn't hurt that Hank is so much like my dad...

Lol my Dad is closer to Walter the Jeff Dunham puppet in an endearing way. "Turn that screaming shit off ya God damn hippie what are you some kind of Democrat?" XD

I was referring more to the deep tax cuts for the rich that led to the market crash and the great depression, but we forgot all about that with the Reagan tax plan and the recession that followed too. They're reaching into our pockets and taking our wallets while most of the country is unaware, distracted by everything from reality TV to identity politics. It's a sad time to be an American.

Well yeah, tax cuts for the wealthy is a huge part of the trickle down philosophy.

They prop up "market standards" and preach letting it do its thing, but they would bail out their constituents in a heartbeat. That's what this tax plan is, it's a fucking giveaway to their campaign donors that we all get to foot the bill for. Robbing the poor to feed the rich worked out really well the last few times they've tried, but it's not as though depressions are bad for everyone. Oh, wait...

Well, I mean, the concept of trickle down economics is absolutely insanity coming from (and out comes my inner punk rocker) the mouth of that depraved fucking lunatic Ronald Reagan so repeating the same bullshit and expecting a different result is literally precedent for the Republican Party.

I often quote this very same scene. Hank had some serious nuggets of wisdom.

Hell yeah. I have a friend who can imitate him perfectly. He also does a hell of a Glen Danzig if you give him enough Jameson.

It's a foreshadowing of what was to come, but it's not alone on the record with tracks like Midnight Mountain cranking up the fun factor.

Yeah like I said, not bad. Just kind of.. threw me off a little. But overall this band is fucking killer. I dig them a lot. Also, aforementioned cold has turned ugly. I'm starting to think it may be the flu in disguise.

Well, Dark Funeral sucks in general, so it's no surprise that their covers would be weak. Haven't heard the Rotting Christ cover that you speak of, but the Type O Negative cover of Black Sabbath is rad.

Yeah I agree. I also like the Sacred Reich cover of war pigs.

  13. Upon listening to a good amount of Cathedral the past couple days I think Ethereal Mirror is my favorite. Although I think the song Ride doesn't fit with the rest of the record. Not a bad song, just seems out of place stylistically speaking.

"But Dad, what if they want their steak well done?"  Well then we will ask them politely, yet firmly, to leave.

Definitely. It was last time, but maybe it just wasn't a great piece of meat, medium rare should be more tender.

Agreed. Especially if it's prime rib. I may not eat meat but I do have standards XD.

Company Christmas party tonight = prime rib. Hopefully it's better than it was last year.
