  1. Not sure if there is already an Exodus thread already. I'm sure there is, I just couldn't find it when I searched. As I mentioned in the Recent Aquisitions thread I just picked up Exhibit B: The Human Condition on tape last night. What's your favorite Exodus album?

Cassette Tape section? Did you find a flux capacitor and insert it into a Delorean? Are you Marty McFly? Do explain..... this is incredible. Wow!!

Ahh this is a really good albumemoji1303.png

I have a 2003 Toyota Highlander which has a tape player, I thought I'd put it to use.

Also, might I add that those were 2 of the 3 metal tapes in the whole section. The other one was Carnival of Chaos by Gwar but I didn't have enough money to rescue that one.

  3. Whilst perusing the cassette tape section at Zia I came across two tapes worthy of note that I have purchased. The first being RRÖÖÖAAARRR by VoiVod and the second being Exhibit B: The Human Condition by Exodus. I was also enticed by a copy of Master of Reality in CD format. That is all.

I had it stuck in my head at work today. Rough around the edges or not, I has serious charisma.

I think as a fan of punk rock it's the rough around the edges stuff that appeals to me most. Im a sucker for dark gritty shit.

They have a song called Enter the Worms on their The Ethereal Mirror album, is that what you're talking about? If so, that trades places with Forest of Equilibrium as my favorite of theirs.

That would be the one I'm sorry. I heard it on a playlist and I thought the song was the name of the album.

You know I can almost handle the stupidity. It's the angry stupid people that get on my nerves, and more than that the angry entitled people. Honestly the customer base at my store wasn't that bad but boy howdy the bad people got pretty bad.

The worst guy was someone who wanted to get a cash refund despite having no receipt and no card. It gets better: the item in question was a bottle of vitamin water. MSRP: $0.88. He kept saying "it's no big deal, so just gimme the cash refund." That's not how it works, dipshit. The correct line is "it's no big deal, so I will quit holding up the line to shake you down."

My dude you wanna see entitlement walk a mile in phone banker shoes. I can't tell you how many people demand overdraft fees back because they think they should be allowed to spend more than what's in their accounts. And if they scream loud enough a supervisor will just give it to them. So we reward them for behaving like beasts.

Angel of Disease is great, but I prefer the Abominations of Desolation version with Mike Browning on vocals. As good as it is, it's out of context with the rest of the album, furthering the uneven pacing, atmosphere, and quality of Covenant.

Yeah I bought that album as a teenager and I found myself skipping a lot of tracks. I'm really glad someone have given me a copy of Altars of Madness or I would have thought Morbid Angel was a shit band overall.

It has some really cool ideas, but it's very uneven and has definite highs and lows. Formulas took the best of those ideas and made them more consistent IMO, and I prefer Tucker's bellows to Vincent's over the chthonic rumblings of the music.

That's an understandable sentiment. To be fair I really liked the song Angel of Disease on Covanent (If that is the song I'm thinking of). I just think the album is lacking as a whole.

Maybe try some of their deeper and less radio friendly albums. My favorite is Master of Reality, but Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is also incredible. As a thrash guy, you'll have to hear Symptom of the Universe off of their Sabotage album, which was a precursor to thrash metal.

Master of Reality is my favorite too. Although most Sabbath tracks with Ozzy are fuckin rad. Dio was good but I liked his work with Rainbow better.

I would caution you on vegetable proteins, as they often come with undesirable side effects. The most obvious ones are soy and gluten, the former containing phyto-estrogen that causes your body to respond as though it were actual estrogen entering your system, and gluten being the most notoriously difficult protein for the body to digest, causing harmful allergies and auto-immune disorders in those that have too much. Others aren't quite as bad, but all are deficient in the plethora of amino and fatty acids and minerals that plant proteins provide.

Right which is why I diversify my protein intake.

Will you still eat seafood like shrimp  and lobster flounder and all that

For the most part no. Now if Im gonna have a cheat day I may indulge in a bowl of clam chowder (Like I said I'm originally from the Bay Area). But that would be on a very, very occasional basis.

For the most part my diet consists of vegetable proteins, fruits and vegetables, legumes and the like.

I'm set in my ways on the subject, so an argument on the subject probably wouldn't serve anyone. I was just looking for some clarification, as it didn't seem like something that you could truly develop a dependency on, but any withdrawal symptoms would likely be from the nutritional change.

I feel that a lot of it was psychologically based. I feel like any change in habits is uncomfortable. Certainly not trying to start an argument, I'm cool with how anyone decides to eat.

Meat counts as a chemical habit?

No but I included it because I did experience some withdrawal symptoms whether they were physical or psychosomatic. My reasoning for vegetarianism is of spiritual and ethical nature but I will not preach to you about that simply because I find it exhausting to both myself and the listener.

But nonetheless, I feel that anything has the potential to be overconsumed, those items listed are my go to fixes and therefore I have cut them out.

I've done it before. It took me a couple weeks to start feeling level again, but good luck to you. Any particular reason you're doing this?

I have a really addictive personality and I'm trying to kick all my chemical habits. Already quit smoking, drinking, smoking, and meat eating. I suppose you could say I'm adopting straight edge ideals.
