  1. If I can muster up enough courage, I might I have a feeling she will realise soon enough she's not ready for it, if it is as bad as you say. Perhaps she needs to be embarrassed a little bit before she gets there. That's usually a pretty good eye-opener.
  2. I'm not angry at anyone or anything in particular, but I am very frustrated. I used to love going to festivals and concerts but I haven't been to one since I was fourteen. I no longer have contact with the friends I had then and the friends I have now are not into my kind of music. I'm shy, nervous, not good with crowds and strangers and because of this I have missed so many things I wanted to see. I feel like an old granny.
  3. Oh my God, congratulations! You must be so proud. I wish you and your family all the best.
  4. Not quite what you wanted us to notice, I'm sure, but nice to meet another Pratchett fan Good Omens was my favorite.

    Writing

If you ever need a sparring partner, I'm available. I write a lot and have joined a few writing forums, so I might be able to help. Sometimes all it takes is a fresh perspective.
  6. I am sorry you have to go through that. I hope you're handling it as well as you say you are. I'm not sure I could have.
  7. Why is it that people tend to feel like they have no other choice than to be on social media? OT, Welcome Garnet
  8. I don't mean to pry so feel free to ignore this comment if you don't want to talk about it. I'm just being curious. How much can you actually see? Is it almost blind or can you make out shapes and things? Having an assistance dog must make a huge difference. It's strange how animals can comfort and calm us where humans can't. But to stay on topic, for me it was the emotional aspect of the music. It was the first music I heard that had deeper layers and I still feel that emotional connection, especially for the bands that I have known for a long time. Listening to them feels like coming home, and I always felt like a had a deeper connection with the artists behind it than with "regular" pop music. It's as if the artists are laying their souls bare for you and you get to live inside their world for a little while.
  9. That was pretty good I liked the video. The only thing I'd have to say about the video is that the vocals don't always match the singer on screen (I'm assuming that's you, btw?). I like it when it feels like the band is actually performing live while filming, so that bothered me a bit. I have no remarks about the sound itself, it sounds really good to me. I wish Siderian the best of luck. Keep at it!
  10. Hello and welcome! I have only been here for a few days as well. I fear your style of music might be a bit too heavy for me, but will you be posting any of your work?
  11. I think I was twelve, the last grade of primary school. I had a crush on someone much older and he started sending me music from Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. I hated it, but I really wanted to impress him so I listened to it 24/7 and pretended to like it. From there I found bands I actually liked. I think one of the first albums was Sirenia or maybe Tristania. I often listened to bands like My Dying Bride and Opeth too, but now I only listen to them when I feel gloomy. I try to keep to the "happier" bands now, although that must be a terrible thing to say on a metal forum
  12. I really liked Clara in the beginning, when she was the "impossible" girl. Now I'm over her. I feel her story line just keeps dragging on and on, and she's getting a bit whiny too.
  13. Geez Deathstorm, you really need a holiday, don't you?
  14. I always thought GoT would have been better if he had finished the books before they started filming it. He's very aware now of the impact his story has on the public, but I think it´s not his job to be concerned about that. It spoilt it a bit for me. I understand your frustration about Doctor Who and deep down inside I agree, but you can never tell anyone I admitted that because I am a very hardcore fan and I will see it through to the end. Even if my eyes start bleeding.
  15. Audiobooks can be fun. I sometimes listen to A Wizard of Earthsea narrated by Rob Inglis and I used to listen to the Lord of the Rings when I was too lazy to pick up the book to reread it again. Not so friendly and a "professional asshole"? Breaking out of character a bit then to welcome me, aren't you? I appreciate it though Thank you
  16. Katatonia - Introducing Katatonia. It really is an introduction, as to my great shame I have to admit I did not know them.
  17. I know, few things can beat a good book. Reading and writing are a huge part of my life. I used to travel quite a bit and only had my tablet to read on, but it's really not the same as an actual book.
  18. It is. I read some of his work somewhere during high school and I really liked it.
  19. Stonehearst Asylum? I read the story it was based upon but never watched the film. It doesn't matter. Since you "aren't really a serial killer" you're free to go. You're right, I probably should have thought that one through a bit. I could be the warden? Oh, wait...
  20. Hello hello I am new here too, but I wanted to welcome you anyway. Do you plan on joining a new band?
  21. Thank you and thank you. I'm not sure how I feel about residing in an asylum again, so how about I'd just be the nurse?
  22. But you're in Australia, right? That's like eternal vacation, including the weather. I like thrill rides too. We only have Six Flags, but I'd love to visit some bigger parks and rides.
