A few weeks ago I started a job in Northern Yorkshire, England. It is absolutely gorgeous there. The job went completely wrong and I left after a week, but not before spending a bit of holiday time there. The whole UK is a great place for hiking, especially Scotland. I think my dream vacation would be Lapland (Sápmi) though. I like the cold.

Yes, it would have been smart to mention that. *Ahem*. Most of what I like is symphonic metal, or the more "gentle" metal. Some favorites include Tristania, Therion, Penumbra, Epica, the Gathering (although I suppose technically, that isn't metal), Lacuna Coil, Leaves Eyes, Nightwish, Theatre of Tragedy, and Yotangor.
