Old Peaceville is untouchable. Autopsy, Darkthrone, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Anathema, how the hell do you top that lineup?

It feels like we'll never move into our new house....doing lots of renovations while its empty as you can see.... But progress is very slow. Here' a couple of pics. Plenty of room for my son in the backyard....

I'm with you on Warning. I think it's more of a derivative "look what we can do" album than any of their other stuff, but the vocal melodies make it stand out. I've been a big fan of RFO since I was a teenager, and I agree it's unique - an odd mix of heavy/power metal and dark 80s pop with a sort of Gothic flair. The songwriting is awkward, though, it has several odd mismatches between the verses and choruses, not entirely sure of itself. Nothing wrong with that. But I've always heard Mindcrime as fulfilling that songwriting promise, and with the Kamen orchestration/choral parts and the interlude bits, I can't see it as meat and potatoes. The production is weirdly clinical, but I haven't heard anything else that sounds like it, and (maybe because I grew up with it) I just can't imagine that album sounding any other way. They definitely declined a bit on Empire, and despite my enjoyment of parts of Promised Land, it doesn't hold up as an album. They probably should have called it quits back when they thought about calling it quits in the 90s.

If I had $1 for every time I've played this over the journey I'd be retired by now.....

It's only 3 tracks and 2 are covers, but yeah it is very much the direction of "Foundations..." really.

lol. I can relate to this on so many levels. I think if my cat had his own 'theme' music .......it would be Motörhead's "The Chase is Better than The Catch".
