  1. Chuck. Creative songwriter, sick vocals, got more albums in than Cliff, plus I enjoy playing guitar more most of the time. Phil Anselmo or Udo Dirkschneider?
  2. Gorod - A Perfect Absolution this is not my thing at all. I think I'm going to turn it off and never listen to it again. Wow, even more disappointing cause I just realized they're the French Gorgasm. I liked Neurotripsicks. Too freakin bad...
  3. I sort of liked Midian, though I don't listen to it anymore, but that was the last COF album I could tolerate. Cruelty And The Beast was their peak for me.
  4. Banned for engaging in a fraudulent "mind reading" scheme during which he attempts to predict upcoming bans.
  5. Most of the vocals sound good, though it's not a style I particularly enjoy. They would benefit from more structure. I like the highs in the first song. Other than that, I don't hear much going on in these songs - they're both one pretty standard riff all the way through. It's cool that you're making an effort to do it all yourself, but you really need to focus on your musicianship and songwriting. Not to be mean at all, but you have a lot of work to do. Welcome to the forum, in any case.
  6. What more could I ask for on a rainy Labor Day than to practice a bunch of guitar and hang out with my wife and kid?
  7. Good going, Satan - that made me want to pull out all my Goth stuff, Sisters Of Mercy and Deine Lakaien, FON. Great atmosphere. 8/10 Here's what Paradise Lost is SUPPOSED to sound like: mTSXu_ksvyM
  8. Hi! So if you don't like heavy stuff, what do you listen to?
  9. Some great stuff in here: http://metalforum.com/death-metal/1075-suggestions.html And here: http://metalforum.com/death-metal/653-technical-death-metal.html Also, check out Cephalic Carnage's "Xenosapien" and "Lucid Interval". With the exception of the new Gorguts, which might not fit your taste, I'm not personally excited by a lot of death metal from the past 15 years or so. I'm sure others can chime in with more relevant recommendations. However, if you can deal with old-school sound, Suffocation's "Pierced From Within" and "Effigy Of The Forgotten", Sinister's "Hate" and "Diabolical Summoning", Immolation's "Here In After" and "Closer To A World Below", and Cannibal Corpse's "Tomb Of The Mutilated" come to mind as a handful of classics from the earlier years.
  10. This is more "traditional" slam - we played a show with these guys. I actually really dug them live. Not a terrible recording, either: IBBy-OrgYso
  11. Ok, I found some Dripping. Hard to see this as slam, though there's a lot of slam in it. BAN - I can see why you like this. I think it's pretty dope. This song in particular is fucking cool: kf3Z3V_H7_k
  12. They did, though I can't find it anywhere. "Disintegration of Thought Patterns During a Synthetic Mind Traveling Bliss". Shit, I can't even find these guys on youtube, and most of what comes up on other searches is (unsurprisingly) porn.
  13. The Punk'n is ok if you like pumpkin beers, not too sweet. The best one that I've had is Souther Tier's "Pumking". I'm not a huge big fan of fall beers right now. I still want my dry bitter cold IPA. I just recently had Uinta's Dubhe and their black lager, too, both of which were really solid. Utah has more to offer than just Mormons and doom metal! Eating - digesting my sushi Drinking - Lagunitas IPA Listening - my wife and kid splashing around in the bath Doing - food coma, preparing to watch The Hobbit Thinking - just texting with one of my good friends who's in his mid 40s and realizing that the high school drama never stops. Ugh.
  14. Good luck bro! I'm sure you'll have an awesome time.
  15. Eating - nothing Drinking - Uinta Punk'n Ale Listening - Paradise Lost - Close Your Eyes Doing - getting ready to ride my bike around for a bit Thinking - this Paradise Lost song doesn't even sound like them. I can't stand it. From the band that put out "Gothic"... urgh.
  16. A Perfect Circle - Brena forgot how much I liked this song, though the album as a whole gets on my nerves
  17. Deftones - Digital Bath thanks, Pandora
  18. My wife put on a Katatonia station on Pandora. For some reason the In Flames song "Gyroscope" came on, live version. It's awful. Fuck but I hate this. Thumbs way down.
  19. Traded some bicycle parts with a friend last night, I'm eager to take the thing out today and see how it behaves. It seemed like a good idea at the time...
