  1. Sombre Héritage - Alpha Ursae Minoris
  2. Thanks for the feedback on Sanguisugabogg. For me it is a miracle that Century Media signed this band. Also I think it is more the gimmick behind it that made them to be signed. For the music is average at the most. There are plenty better releases this year.
  3. What's your verdict on this release? Is it overhyped indeed or is it a brilliant signing from Century Media? Bhleg - Ödhin (Recommended on the metal-fi page)
  4. Creeping Fear - Hategod Triumph
  5. I think The Bridge was the best. The Swedish detective suffering from a mental disorder like Asperger or some other autism spectrum type is played very well. I was a bit afraid this would disturb me too much but in the end it didn't. Further good story lines.
  6. Ildaruni is a nice release - Murg I too got from Goatmaster as being essential listening. Now starting the Dark Funeral discog with first the EP from 1994 and now listening The Secrets of the Black Arts. All for the first time, like I still have to listen to all their releases. I have been missing out on some great music over the past..... Damn....
  7. ^^^^ I liked that one. This I like quite a bit. Rapture from Greece with some fine death/ thrash mix. Previous release was also very good.
  8. I know how easy scheduled listens get flooded by a tsunami of new releases that needs listening to as well. Which happened to The Swerve. I have the cd in my collection and have not listened to it long time. I did today again and I really think it is an awesome album. These 2x albums will be frequently listened to coming weeks.
  9. I think I am really going to like this release, it's the first time listening now
  10. Still listening metal even though my dad once told me that I would grow over 'it' when I become an adult. I was 16 at the time. I am either super stubborn not wanting to give in to him even while passed the age of 50 or I never grew up. Possibly a combination of both is true. I relate a lot to what @GoatmasterGeneralsaid. Including the Simon and Garfunkel comment... but also the divorce tapes. I have them too. I am having plenty memories when I listen to older music.
  11. Just wanted to share my experience with a set of headphones, closed can, in the price range over 500 USD. I have the B&W P9 now after I owned a B&W P5 (< 500 USD). Both are really excellent headphones. Sound is truly amazing, for sure if you listen through the Onkyo DP-x1A and probably any other DAP. There is so much depth in the sound, it's really great to hear all the nuances in the music. Last is the amazing comfort that this set has. I can have them on for hours without getting annoyed or having sore ear shells. Otherwise, there are so many quality headphones you actually should go to the shop with a set of music of various sounds, lo-fi BM, some death metal (Sulphur Aeon is good for testing!) and some thrash or so. You probably know that already but for me it was an eye opener how many headphones I didn't like until I heard the B&W.
  12. I am in the process to become a trve goat music lover. Having a long way to go still. I have been more of a death metal addict over all the previous years. So who am I to recommend any black metal? Well I give it a try and recommend latest Wesenwille. I thoroughly enjoy II: A Material God. And not because they are also Dutch... And I also like latest Abigor as well!
  13. Wow. Just wow. What an amazing artist you are @FatherAlabaster! I have been scrolling through the posts with open mouth. Amazed by the drawing itself but also so impressed how you create the ideas to make the art.
  14. ^^^^ Pretty amazing you find still time listening to oldies! I should do that a lot more. Meaning I have still plenty to listen still from 2020 and older.... Latest ND is indeed very good. Different. This is pretty good - with lots of riffs and solo's and so. Stortregn - Impermanence
  15. Very nice release. With seasoned musicians from different bands. Technical death metal but surely not overly guitar wankery stuff. Obvurt - The Beginning
  16. I like some Scandinavian series a lot. Like The Bridge, The Killing, Borgen. Or Glacé, French series.
  17. I have preordered Altarage without listening based on their previous releases. I can only comment after I received the album. I wont listen to it before. Something strange, I know. The album seems to be well received all over.
  18. Sometimes there isn't much to say. I find it very hard as well to say exactly why I like certain music and others I dont. Slam definitely has my interest and Abominable Putridity is among my favourites. This also was very good release:
  19. I am not the biggest doom fan, but some rec's I do like: Mortiferum Void Rot Temple of Void Asphyx Heretical Sect There's plenty more but from top of my mind these are pretty ok.
  20. Here a few I bought recently. I buy way too many albums! Burial Remains - Spawn of Chaos Manbryne - Heilsweg: O udręce ciała i tułaczce duszy Kankar - Dunkle Millennia Throne - Pestilent Dawn Celestial Sanctuary - Soul Diminished Coffin Mulch - Septic Funeral The Stone - Kosturnice Mooncitadel - Night's Scarlet Symphonies Sarkrista - Sworn to Profound Heresy Codex Mortis - What Befalls Of Tainted Souls Délétère - Theovorator: Babelis Testamentum Forteresse - Thèmes pour la rébellion Délétère - Per Aspera ad Pestilentiam Délétère - Les heures de la peste Délétère - De Horae Leprae
